Dear Sussex Seamstress, I have only very recently found your channel and I have to say I am hooked! Your instructions are so clear and the first rate footage allows everything to be seen, so there is no doubt about what you are demonstrating. Also, I love the fact that you don't ruin everything by having distracting music! I would rather watch your channel than the television any day! I am a beginner and am currently choosing which of your patterns to try. It may sound silly, but I find the cutting out part the scariest bit. I have been known to lay everything out, read the instructions umpteen times, only to chicken out at the last minute and put it all away again. I'm nothing if not determined, so I'll get there. Hi Jane, I'm just waiting on postie bringing my Worthing and Maplehurst patterns and wondered if I can use the template from the Maplehurst to change the Worthing into a round neck which I prefer? Thanks

I have just purchased the Worthing dress pattern, but the QR code sends me to this video, is this correct? Also can I bind the neck and armholes ? as I hate facings, they always seem to lay awkwardly.

Dear Sussex Seamstress I am a beginner sewist and really would love to make clothes. I found your channel today and really enjoyed this video - crystal clear instructions and photography with close-ups AND no annoying music! This video is like a breath of fresh air. I recently made a blouse from a sewalong video and the music was so loud and sombre, I couldn't make out what was being said and kept having to rewind. Without sounding really weird (I hope!) this video is just so calming! I think it must be your voice and relaxed manner. And thank you for not using music behind it all. I learned so much about technique from watching this. Amazing. Granted I did watch some parts twice, but I was able to really understand everything the way you show things so clearly. So many sewing videos skip small important steps, but you've covered the details. This even gave me ideas for how to hack some simple tops I whipped up for myself that are a little boring. Thank you so much.

Thank you for the simple explanation of this adjustment. If you have 6 inches between upper bust and bust, can this method be used? Enlarging 3 inches? Or should it be done twice? Enlarging 1 1/2 inches and then again on the newly enlarged pattern?

First tutorial I finally understood. Although it would have been much more clear if the front and back of the fabric were a bit more different 😊 but i understood anyway. Extra thanks for an advice on when and how to overlock during this process

I just finished sewing this as my second sewn garment! Thank you so much for your very clear instructions, both in the pattern and this video and also for the nice printing format! I had some fabric leftover from my skirt project and now I have a nice little matching set. I chose yours in particular for the cunning little pockets and straightforward construction.

Great tutorial, I have purchased this pattern and the fabric I am using has a slight stretch but nice drape, so should be perfect
