I have done a lot of 3D imagery since its 2010-ish peak when a few stereo P&S cameras came out, and I owned three Fuji Real 3D W3 cameras after the first two had lens issues. I still have one which works quite well, and while I am tempted by the new Acer camera its feature set does not warrant the price point they are asking. The lackluster design is matched by its limited functionality, unless of course you invest further into more of their hardware. 3D is certainly on its way back after its false start fifteen years ago, and I for one will wait to see who else offers a stereo camera that improves on the impressive Fuji W3. I also expect smartphones to start offering that capability, since they need to just put a lens at the other end of the phone and add a lenticular screen - once that happens, no one will want a dedicated P&S stereo camera.

This might be a welcome replacement for the Fuji W3, but Acer provides not much specs at the moment, or at least, they are hard to find. In one of the promotional youtube movies a QR code is shown to get the manual, but that is hard to scan with the device on which you view the video 😉. Giving the focal length says nothing if the size of the chip is not mentioned. We want to know the angle of the lens. Probably in the wide angle range, which is welcome, as the compacts like the Fuji W3 forces me to stand with my back to the wall, but that wall should be further away to get the full subject many times 😉. On the other side, a zoom function is needed for other subjects, and this important function seems not available, or is not mentioned in the trendy, far too jumpy and short video. Another important thing I miss in the video’s; how can you change the battery, and, what type is it. If it is unique for this camera, that could be a big problem if this camera not becomes very popular (let alone it’s in a niche market already). All together, I hope all the options we did not see are available, and it is a good replacement for the Fuji W3, as we are waiting for that for years, but each time there comes a new camera there are important features missing, ore you need to need a stack of batteries to take with you as they drain very fast. I really hope this one ticks all the boxes, but we need more info. Also the stereo base is given very vaguely ‘about the distance between our eyes’ That varies between people. We (the experienced stereo photographers) would like to know the exact distance. And; does it provide MPO files? I know you can covert images to MPO files, but straight from the card is convenient. Although there are much more expensive 3D cameras, at this price point you don’t buy it in the blind and hope it suits your intended use. Sander Kiesel

An absolute joke! You should be ashamed of yourselves. NO ONE at Acer cares that this player does NOT play files from a network share. NO ONE at Acer cares about the fact that this player does not support language tracks and NO ONE at Acer cares about the fact that this player does not support subtitles and NO ONE at Acer cares about the fact that this player does not support image aspect ratio settings, and so on. I have been emailing them on all their channels for a year now, including their own forum, where they said they would take it up with the relevant department. In the meantime, they have updated the player several times, just to make it look more modern, without addressing the biggest flaws. My advice: avoid Acer SpacialLabs devices if you your intention is watching your SBS 3D movies, you will only be disappointed. You're forced to use this player because it's the only way to get the eye tracking to work properly, a part of SpatialLabs GO that eats up more power and doesn't use the hardware to its full potential.👎

Honestly with none of these devices you will be able to play your 3D movies, if that's what you would like to do: The dedicated SpatialLabs Player APP has a HUGE bug, doesn't play files from a NAS or Windows Share. And it still doesn't support language tracks or subtitles. Acer just doesn't care.

Let's face it: SpacialLabs Go is nice, but it has issues with crosstalk (image doubling in dark scenes) and is not an alternative to SpatialLabs Player for playing 3D movies in highest image quality. But the new SpatialLabs Player V3 has a HUGE bug, doesn't play files from a NAS or Windows Share. And it still doesn't support language tracks or subtitles. But Acer doesn't care.

Hi 😊 I have two questions about the SpatialLabs View (Pro) 27 Monitors: 1. Do you have any idea when they finally will be released and where they first will be available internationally? 2. Will they use the same SpatialLabs Experience Center (Pro) suite drivers like the current SpatialLabs Notebook and Monitor products, or will they be released alongside with new software and drivers?
