Fenix EDC E35R Light: 1st Impressions
I wanted a few extra batteries for my spot light for Hurricane Milton. I picked up a light that came with 2 and, needless to say, I'm highly impressed.

1st Impressions: Carter Release Holster
มุมมอง 66514 วันที่ผ่านมา
AJBHolsters on Etsy created this cool holster specific to the carter release line. Configure it any way you like to carry and attach it to molle any way you want. I really liked this guy's product and if you hunt or shoot 3d with a Carter release, in my opinion, you should give this carry method a shot.

on the regulator or the hose that connects to the propane tank, there's the metal pin or paperclip like thing on it. Are we supposed to take it off before we use the burners? It's my first time cooking with propane and I'm not sure if I should have it on or not
Jackson I was unsure about the clip as well. I have kept it on and have used this system for a few months now almost daily. Has not affected the performance at all. I love this thing!
@@navigatethewild got it. I’ll keep it on then and try using it this weekend. Thank you so much for the reply and reassurance.
I forgot to mention. Start cooking on low. This thing gets super hot, super quick.
❤
Man I love be this video! But I can promise you one thing is certain, you won’t be using this pack for 10-15 years lol not because it won’t last, but because I can tell you’re a gear nerd like me and something new will come along in about 2-3 years that you gotta try out. Happy hunting bro!!!
With this FHF product "FOB" stands for "Forward Open Bino Holder" not Forward Operating Base.
End up with this? You START with this! Step 1, skin comes off ... magically ... it's gone!!!! WTF???? Nice beard though. Keep trying!
Maybe it’s time to bring in dirt and build everything up soil wise. If Dubai can do can Florida
How long is awhile!?
@@davidnorris4653 it would last easy 2 weeks
What is your grind ratio? Looks great!
I do 1lb fat to 4 or 5 lbs meat
Looks good man
Great video boss!
Nope, if it's not being touched by fire then it's not how you do it.
I have watched a couple of your videos, so I subbed you. hahahah, I have to say, you are the first one who I have seen show how they carry. I made one out of KYDEX this weekend, and the video will post soon on my set up, but it is essentially the same setup you have modified on y our rig as well. Next, since you said waterproof, KIWI makes some stuff called tent dry or something like that, it is a silicone sealer, not saying it will make it 100%, but it will seal tents up to make them water proof again. Might be worth trying to seal the 511 bags. I do like you, am a fan of 511. So anyhow, talking about your tournakit, we may actually be brothers in a sense. Good stuff sir and I hope you have a blessed week. Continue to do what you are doing and sub 911 on your list, you're so close to the magic 1000 great job. Dale
@@HeartlandMakesAndOutdoors thanks so much Dale! I will follow back. Looks like we are gonna get hit by a hurricane this week. Prayers are appreciated.
Get er don!!!
looks good asl ngl
Magna cut is a good knife steel but it must be heat treated properly. A recent study found 7 out of 10 knife samples fell short of 60 HRC Rockwell hardness. Companies like Spyderco and Benchmade are "more likely" to give you 60+ HRC. Check out "Knife steel nerds" for the best detail on individual steels. The guy has a PhD in metallurgy and wrote a book on steel alloys, heat treat, and edge geometry. He is smarter than me. The TS Prof Kadet Pro is the cheapest solution I could find that will produce a consistent angle, but not cheap. Figure $500 if you know exactly what to buy. I am into it for almost $1000 with too many useless accessories.
Vanadium is the alloy element for max edge retention. S30V is 3% Vanadium. S90V is 9% Vanadium with the highest edge retention for an alloy that is not crazy expensive and reasonably common. Benchmade has 2 "hunter" series knives in S90V. I have one of each, with the Steep Country in S30V as my light weight backup knife. I also use a TS Prof Kadet Pro with 4 Pc Atoma 1x6" diamond stone set, 140, 400, 600, and 1200 Grit which put a "PRECISE" 17 degree angle on most knives I carry and a mirror finish. I have found a good sharpener is indispensable regardless of how many knives I have. Three factors for edge retention 1) the steel, 2) the heat treat, 3) the geometry (sharpener).
Thanks so much for the insight. I still suck at sharpening blades. Currently I’m using a mkc speed goat 2.0 but I’m super tempted by the magnacut rage. Any insight on that?
Great video, great to see that you have the Kong set up correctly . Don’t use one personally but see a lot of guys running it wrong.
Make a Purcell prussik which allows you to adjust the length of the safety on the go so if you want it longer slide it longer and then again shorter

That is a kukri, by KA-BAR. I have one and it's awesome. Like a machete and a hatchet combined!
This goes to show that prophecy in the Bible is being fulfilled.
What belt are you running in your saddle? I hate the one that came with the phantom it gets twisted inside the loop it’s ran through and bugs the he’ll out of me.
@@W_Earp so here is the deal on the belt. What comes with your tethrd saddle even today is a crappy belt and a even crappier cobra buckle they had some Chinese company make. That buckle failed under load on me. Thats the main reason I upgraded. I notified tethrd. All they did was exchange my saddle saying only one other person said the same. I run a blue alpha belt with an Austrian alpine cobra buckle. They are not a cheap belt but a cobra buckle if it’s a legit one has fail safes designed into them. For me it’s the only way I climb. www.bluealphabelts.com/
I just ordered a Latitude Bite. I use the HYS strap too. I my intention was to put the Bite on the main strap (not the loops), tighten down the HYS, and THEN turn that angled bracket/backer into place to potentially tighten it into the strap more. I honestly don't mind if it bounces up a little when the bow comes off...so long as it doesn't sag when the bow goes on the hook (which happens with most hooks/hangers I've tried).
@@tddeangelo i have climbed with this hanger 12 times and I just gave it away for another saddle hunter to try. Its over complicated and I’m not a fan at all. The hero clip which was never designed to be a bow hanger to begin with is better than an other hanger on the market intended to actually be a hanger. The fold out “bite” part of the hang is junk. For the cost I was really disappointed.
@@navigatethewild that stinks to hear. We'll see how I like it when I get it. I honestly am not a hero clip fan, but we'll see how I like the Bite when it arrives, I guess. I have a G3D hanger that is workable, but likes to tip away from the tree on me. I'm hoping the Bite does the trick for me. I'm not a saddle hunter, but in the end most all of us have to hang gear on the tree at some point, and the saddle hunter gear seems to me to be more sorted out than the rest.
@@tddeangelo please don’t forget. Give me your thoughts. Good luck this season.
@@navigatethewild will do! We're already off and running here in southeast PA. Starting our second week tomorrow. Good luck to you as well!
Only white folks
Have you tried going inbetween the loops?
I have actually. Then I gave it away. The hero clip is such a simple and good way to hang your bow. I will stick with it for a while.
That’s crazy of her 🤣 (We got cooked)
wow!
Same lol crazy
That not a spool adjustment that is to open the side plate
Thank you !
How’s it turn out?
@@tylersmith5913 terrible. We got months of no rain and then 3 months of rain in a week. In my area of Florida I just don’t have the resources to maintain them. Unless you do a rye grass but thats just for turkey. That will and has worked. But I won’t ever do another food plot for deer. The weather is just to unpredictable.
Totally disgusting and way too much sodium.
These are the reasons why I like the RL-2 Hybrid over some of the other Redline quiver options - The RL-1 (3 or 6 arrow option) only offer one rubber arrow holder, and two rubber arrow holders hold arrows more securely. When you only have one arrow holder, you must shove your broadheads into the other end to keep the arrow tight in the quiver, and that dulls the blades faster. The RL-3 5 would have been a nice affordable alternative, but the screw in knob that holds the quiver on to the mount bracket isn't threaded very deep. It would be easy to back out the threaded screw & drop/lose it. This is the ONLY reason I didn't pick the cheaper option. The RL-Anvil would have been a good option, but it's currently sold out. Although it holds 6 arrows, it comes with more weight. I don't see any real advantage of the RL-Anvil other than it holds up to 6 arrows. Don't get me wrong the RL-Anvil is a nice quiver, and it would be my 2nd choice in the Redline lineup. The Redline quivers are very adjustable, which was lacking on my previous model. Two rubber arrow holders are way superior to any quiver with only one. The RL-2 Hybrid on sale for $50 is an excellent choice.
You should be hooking the fold n go to the rear part of the strap not just the loop but it does still suck. Especially for 20 dollars. The clip is the way to go because in a lot of quick hunt scenarios you can also just clip them to a branch especially the larger ones. Instead of needing the strap. The latitude looks cool but the bungee is a joke and silver is the absolute worst option for hunting. They couldve easily coated them. Ill use the hero clips until something better comes along, i dont personally see it happening
@@tylerparker3024 so I have shot shorts on how to properly attach both to the tree. The hero clip is still the best attachment method i have found.
I believe this is the only video of yours id seen.
@@tylerparker3024 well join the community bro! Thanks for checking out what I’m doing regardless. I appreciate your insight. Navigate the wild!
This quiver is great!
@@navigatethewild $50 with free shipping is a good deal! I ordered one. I appreciate your review of it!
I received my Redline quiver today, and it is very nice! Purchasing it at half price with free shipping directly from Redline made the deal even sweeter! This is an upgrade for me, because my Kwikee quiver had no adjustments, & it only had one rubber arrow holding mount. This particular Redline model has two rubber arrow mounts and everything is adjustable. I can center the quiver/arrows on my 35" ATA bow with ease. The quick release is a good design. I am a treestand hunter who hangs my quiver as soon as I am in the stand (been doing it this way for over 35 years), & the hanging loop is perfect for that. This RL-2 Hybrid quiver checks all the right boxes for me. I like carrying 4 arrows with sharp broadheads, & one practice broadhead arrow. 5-6 arrow quivers are perfect for my Midwest hunts.
All one-piece quivers are made to attach this way. This is the way one-piece quivers have been mounted for 40+ years. I've never seen a sight mounting bracket that wasn't set up to accept a quiver mount like this. This has nothing to do with the age of your bow. Most one-piece quivers are designed to attach to the sight bracket and sight brackets are designed to accept quiver brackets. The two go hand-to-hand regardless of the brand. I appreciate your review. I am thinking of upgrading my 25+ year old Kwikee quiver, & the sale price is great!
I like it.
Oh and for waterproof side pouches use the medium pouches made from xpac by kifaru
Get the suspenders from custom gear modifications. I ran the same ones you have for 2 years then i found custom gear modifications suspenders. By far superior. No elastic and a mesh yoke system
Nice video! Its always a treasure hunt, and you never know what you might find. I normally have to dig through some boxes to find some of the good stuff! Thanks for sharing!
The fold in go shoud be inside the loop on top and bottom its tight fit but it does go that way securely but i prefer the quick draw and not pack gadgets ard with me
I just run the tethrd bow hook that screws right to bow love how low profile it is and dont even notice it plus i dont have to carry extra pieces ard with me since its always attached to bow i used kydex one for yrs then got there aluminum model and well worth the 12 bucks i have half dozen now just recently attached one to my cfx platform and there awesome
many carabiners are shaped the way they are to prevent cross loading when using devices such as the kong duck or other positioning systems
