Peron Stage 2 Pro VS LP2R - Fiesta ST180 King of Stage 2
So...We did it, a showdown between 2 of the biggest Tuners in the willy waving Fiesta world. Peron (AET) vs MAXD (Laird Performance) go head to head in a battle of power, speed and timing.
The Fiesta Scene is very much full of people willy waving figures and arguing over which tuner is better. Ultimately it depends on so many factors, what Dyno was used, where you live in relation to each tuner and what customer service they offer. Personally Laird Performance customer service is second to none and the software they use is dam right great for a stage 2 ST.
Me and Jason decided on using an independent Dyno who isn't familiar with the Fiesta ST world so we can try and make the most fair results. HP on both ends was low but torque was high due to the Dyno run being done in 5th but none the less i was certainly happy and Jason was a little sad, poor Jason.
We started off with 10-60mph timed pulls due to the GPS app we were using was registering revving to launch as movement. We then went on to the Dyno where we did 3 runs each at Ecotech up in Buckely, North Wales. We then went on to do some pulls followed by a timed 30 to 70mph run.

I have an ep3 234bhp and a fiesta St 235bhp and civic kills it to 60. Civic is faster too top end. Fiesta is good for low down torque but not so good for everything else.

Probably won’t see this but worth a ask, I’ve just fitted a stage 2 MTC intercooler and it was abit of a fiddle to fit anyways I got it on and put the bumper on, only problem is the bumper doesn’t fit as well as it did before.

Laird performance is by nexus not MAXD.. MAXD is puma speed 👍

Laird used to use maxd up until about a year ago.

@@zacdavies3438 There are many versions of the maxd 2r files, think different tuners use various files. I had the cat safe crackle from pumaspeed, which is only up to version 5, full crackle and no crackle are up to version 9. The 5 only boosts between 1.45 and 1.5, where as the V8 and V9 boost easily up to 1.6. Maybe pumaspeed thought keeping the boost lower will keep the cat safer im not sure. When Laird used Maxd, their cat safe may have been a newer higher boosting file than 5. I now run the v8 from pumaspeed with no crackle as I have a sports cat. Doesn't sound as good with no burbles or odd cracks, but the extra boost makes it soo much better to drive.
@@benh8944 fair enough mate, have ya ran into any problems with the max d map? as im torn between goin to laird or goin to puma speed for a stage 2 map as ive just bought all the hardware and looking for the most power i can get with a stage 2, i think laird is the way to go tho their nexus software is at the top of the league for me

What kind of BOV is in it?
Currently running a cp2 map with just st200 box. Getting a sports cat, intercooler and maxd 2r map next week. At santa pod the maxd 2r's were always the quickest from what I watched and the dyno days I've been to, the 2r was always the best stage 2 result.

the cops around my area know a lot of the people around my age due to the style of boy racer. it doesn't help many have modded their cars and then attempt convoys and drive around the retail parks revving engines and driving fast down the duel carriageways but im yet to do anything to my ford fiesta but atm with my insurance been 1500 I don't see much point so im only gonna change the exhaust, rims, lights so at least I can be heard

You can change maps if you get the Cobra Accessport. A golf? That car that every man and their dog has? You do realise a Fiesta ST with a garret gtx is faster than a remapped golf r, right? And it costs like half the price...
