We arrived on a Saturday for our Lazio trip and stayed five nights in Soriano. But on Mondays most of the places are closed, we were told. Our last day in Lazio trip, went to the town of Bagnoregio to reach Civita, a village in the clouds. A beautiful little village on top of a hill. Took the train to Viterbo, then the bus to Bagnoregio. Walk up to the village in about 30 minutes.

On our fourth day we were told of a shorter way to get to the station, from the village square ( piazza ). It’s mostly steps, about 150 of them, but quicker. Viterbo is the main city in Lazio, outside of Rome of course. And on our third day we went there by train from Soriano. It’s just about a 20 minutes ride. You can purchase a day pass for both train and bus, for only e3.30. You can also take the bus, but it would take longer since it has to make frequent stops. There were only 3 stops by train.

After coming back from Viterbo we still have daylight time to walk up the Orsini Castle. Caught the view of the town below from the highest point in the area.

After the long drive from Fuchimeo Airport in Rome, we finally arrive in the town of Soriano Nel Cimino for a 5 nights stay at the Palazzo Catalani Resort, which is located on top of the hill just a walk away from the Orsini Castle.

Enjoyed our 5 nights stay very much in this awesome resort. Wonderful place with awesome stuff and great location to travel up to other locations in Lazio or even Italy. A bus ride away to Orte station that will get you to Rome by train in 45 minutes. The main city in Lazio is Viterbo, where you can also reach other major regions of Italy. The bus and train from Soriano can get you to Viterbo.

Our last game for the season was a play-off match vs LA FC. It was a bad game all around. We played badly, the referee was equally bad, and the opponent mostly used un-sportsmant like tactics: committing numerous ‘professional foul acting’, and the referee just keeps on gving them free kicks for that. Driving to the University of Oxford and spend almost the whole day there doing a sellf-tour. Definitely full of history and stories of famous names like CS Lewis, Einstein, and Harry Porter. Would need to stay a few days to really explore the colleges, cathedrals, and museums.

Driving back from Devon we stayed at the Hilton near Heathrow Airport for two nights before flying back to Seattle. Windsor Castle is actually not too far from Heathrow. We took a bus from Terminal 5 to get there.

Another day trip we made while in Devon was to the town of Plymouth in England. We got to see the memorial for The Mayflower and ate the traditional Cornish Pasty.

During our stay in Devon we made a day trip driving to the city of Exeter. Visited a cool Cathedral and walked downtown the shopping, restaurants, park, and museum.

Our actual vacation stay is at a town called Holsworthy in North Devon, England. We were supposed to stay for a week but cut short to 5 days because of a coming rain storm. But it was fun, and tense at the same time, driving the narrow roads of the country side. We visited the towns of Clovelly, Bideford, and Barnstaple. We also managed to make day trips to Exeter city and Plymouth.

Flew to London from Singapore after the mission trip to Medan. Stayed for 3 nights at the Hampton by Hilton in Waterloo. Great location close to the bus stop and the Tube.
