Its definitely not easy but i made sure to stay with my fish until the end. No life should reach its end alone, it was the least i could do for my fish and the joy it brought to me and kids. My son is torn up about it but i made sure everyone had a chance to say goodbye. This video really helped me make the decision to end the suffering of my fish

I had to put my Betta fish Sunny in clove oil today due to dropsy. Me & my wife cried bitterly, very sad for him, he was a beautiful Betta.

I am regularly removing snails from my tank that gather in a feeding station I use for the fish. I want to use clove oil to euthanize them before discarding them. I downloaded an article that recommends 5-10 drops of clove oil per gallon of water. I don't want to mix up a gallon at a time, so I scaled that down to 1 drop in 12 oz. The instructions say to shake the mixture until it's milky, but mine won't turn milky even after adding 3 drops to 12 oz. Is my clove oil bad, or should I be mixing it in a tiny amount of water before adding the full 12 oz.? What am I doing wrong?

You are suppose to add the clove oil only one drop at a time, little by little. 20 drops all at once burns them. That's why the poor fish started freaking out.

I bought clove oil a year ago and today is the first day I have to use it on my fancy guppy. Like everyone else, I've been watching him for a couple weeks now. At first he was swimming in a wobbly manner, still eating. This week he is sometimes swimming upside down and just darts around the surface like he's gone nuts. I'm guessing it's time to use my clove oil today, because he won't get any better. I'm so sad right now, but this method sounds so much more humane than the previous freezer method, which I THOUGHT was humane, but turned out not to be. It helped to see your video because there is no thrashing around by this fish, which means no pain. THANK YOU!!

My mom's ex has a bunch of piranhas and they are illegal to own and he abandoned them. I'm thinking we might have to do this. They are big tho probably like 10 inches and probably like a pound each if not more. I feel bad but it's a fine in the tens of thousands for selling them or spreading them. So we have to kill em.

I just did this about 30 minutes ago, it’s not easy and it feels so bad. My betta was going on 3.5 years old. I’ve been contemplating for 3-4 days as he’s just been suffering for the last week. The water in the bowl had a mix of both clove oil and tears. He was my first ever fish, he lived a good life in a 10 gallon planted aquarium with his little neon tetra buddy. Thank you

Ive had to do this once for a fish that got really sick years ago and now im watching again to put down a glofish zebra danio that ive had for almost 3-4 years now ….a tumor appeared in its belly area and its gotten so bad he can barely swim and is now losing color ….he didn’t start looking sickly until this month and it breaks my heart having to put him down. Especially since I would feed him and talk to him on a daily and he was really social for a fish….especially during the pandemic 😔

The thing that gets me, how do we know if they are suffering, suffocating, burning, when you add this oil? I get that it's supposed to "make them sleepy", but, I just don't understand how anyone can say that they don't feel this. I hate when my fish get sick and we've done everything under the sun to treat them.

Cloves are used to relieve pain. I used them myself for a toothache, it's the only way that works and the pain disappears completely. The gums are not felt. It should be similar for fish. Painless death.

I have a comet goldfish that got itself stuck( tearing up writing this). Had to see how to do this cause its on its side hurt pretty back but in case she doesnt heal up she will be rested in my back yard with respect i really liked this comet. Had to do this to my girlfriend the last week, she kept bitching about me spending all my time on youtube so she had to go. Turns out, putting clove oil in her bath just pissed her off and made the bed smell like a hippy all month. 0/10 do not recommend for girlfriends/wives/side-chicks/baby-mommas.
