I am 66 years old Daniel in the summer I swim every day about a kilometer for a month and a half when I go to my country house at Koroni, clean up the landscape in the sun from the weeds when I return to Athens we sometimes with my wife walk from Agios Dimitrios down to the beach and back about one's or twice a week maybe,and my wife cook's healthy but ALWAYS every day when I wake up In the morning I put my self down to do 30 push-ups and 50 to 100 jumping Jack's and before going to bed 00:00 -01:00 😅 I fall down on my knees no matter how sleepy I am and strech out and stay there for 3 minutes arching my back with breathing slowly. Like you I have a glass of wine at the noontime meal and one at night ALWAYS 😅😅 the only thing that I do that is bad for me I smoke 15 half cigarettes a day sorry to say 😢 but I don't want to quit cause I like it aspesialy with coffee or wine. When I go to the doctor for check up he asked me if I smoke and I replied yes and he said vary bad, after he sent me for all blood tests, heart, arteries etc he wrote down for me to have Ex-ray check and after looking at everything he told me everything was vary good and in the Ex-ray he didn't see anything by looking at him that he expected to see as a smoker s Ex-ray because he was waiting to see something to get down on me . Enyway I do those things even 10 pull ups if I whant to and my body looking at my self on the mirror (sounds corny) is like a 30 year old man in shape just with the 10 minute morning routine 😊activity .

My Thea makes a version of Spanakopita with chicken inside and the egg lemon sauce usually put over Dolmades. She calls it Spanakotopita. Have any locals heard of it in Greece?

My wife and I are on our last 2 melomakarona of the season today BUT we still have half our vasilopita left 😂😂!! I am never going to say no to Greek γλυκά haha. My philosophy is moderation, within reason. I love walking too...I will walk anywhere. I don't like the gym because at least in the uk where I am from and in Canada where I now live, the competition and judgement is off the charts and I don't want to be a part of it. I admire you going as often as you do and I need to get into a habit of weight training at home. I acknowledge that but doing it is a different matter....the moral of your story and mine is we could all do more for our health. Actually knowing that is a great first step! Thanks my sharing, my friend
