It all depends on how you use the gap year. If you will use the gap year to progress, make money, and learn a valuable skill, then it’s worth it.

Im thinking about taking a gap year , Im currently in junior year but I just dont feel like Im ready to graduate college, I feel like I missed so many things all due to my mental health and some personal issues I haven't been able to solve, I dont want to keep living the same way way im currently am right now. If I do take the gap year I plan to get therapy a job as well as volunteer, I always wanted to study abroad but dont have much saved. I currently majoring buisness but dont feel like buisness ready (i dont if I made sense their) but my point is I feel so unprepared in comparison to my peers, Im struggling trying to see what I like, what I'm good at and if the major I have is a good one, do you think a gap year could help me with that?

sorry but being alone is something you have to go through in life you cannot depend on people to not feel alone.

i wouldn’t worry about finding a niche. the niche comes to you. so many creators started doing one thing, then switched to something else because they realized their passions along the way. takeaway? just start man! i’m an over thinker too, just start.

I trhink that the idea of niching down is a good thing only if you have experience. At first I would suggest that you do everything you can put your hands on and also be a Personal Assistant to other filmmakers and on sets. You will end up finding something that you are really passionate about and THEN start niching down. I am 15 years into this career and I am barely starting to niche down and understand what I really like!

If my thoughts could add any value… there are no such thing as wasted experiences. Most businesses are general until they eventually find a specific market to hone in on. If you promised a product then deliver on that but keep your head in learning the entire atmospheres you use to bring to bear in developing a particular project…too early to stress on a specific… like you said…Broaden your portfolio …my words stay humble and stay hungry… success is when opportunity meets preparation…. Oh yeah… and continue to network with others in the same field or who might help with your exposure
