    I am on boat number 13 . I’m 77 . Over the years I learned to keep a small box on board with two extra gas filters, one thermostat with gasket and sealer and a few small zip ties plus a pair of wire snips and the appropriate tools necessary. I just bought a 2025 boat like yours with the 50. I have had two merc 50’s and a 60 on tracker boats. Your video is simple and clear that gets to the point. What kind of fish finder did you install ? I had used the Helix for years and it was great. I do need to get a finder with a larger screen. Thanks again.

      @@jimmclendon5404 Thank you! And yes sir I always have an emergency box full of what if items as well. I love the idea of being prepared for the worst even if it never happens. If I would have had a way at the water to pump water through the engine without it running I could have fixed it right there! Truth is though, that day I just wasn't thinking. I had forgotten my life jacket at home and had to drive back 20 minutes to my house to get it. I should have used my trolling motor to go through that trash but I was just wanting to get on the fish lol! The fish finder that I installed is a Lowrance Elite FS7. It's the cheapest model that will accept the full blown Active Target systems.

      @@jimmclendon5404 I completely agree. I haven't been able to record a video in a while. I actually have 2 kayak tournaments recorded but my kids dropped my laptop and the screen works when it wants to lol. On top of that one of my camera got broken, I switched jobs, and we had a vehicle broken down and in the shop for 2 months! Basically life happened and the videos took a back seat to my family (as they should). I do plan on finishing those and making more videos this year. I just needed to get through Christmas first! @ mine is a 2025. I let my 2015 Mako 17 pro skiff with a 60 find a new home. I had a large 2018 tracker deep V that I should have kept because they are now over $32 K . I had Rivera down riggers for stripper fishing on that one. My adult kids never had time to fish and my friends that were not retired were also busy with work and family. I’ve had a 22ft bay liner cuddy with a chev 305 which was good, an 18ft pontoon with a Johnson 90, phantom with a 70 Evinrude and numerous other craft in the 2 cycle years. I finally needed something lighter again. My fishing bud of 40 years has a deep V Whaler with a 90 Merc and it is a pain to get in and out of with our creaky bones.

    I bought a 2022 used. I fish small lakes at altitude in Montana which required a prop change to optimize speed and power. If any of you out there are at altitude, finding the right prop to suit the 50 HP motor is a CHALLENGE! I contacted mercury and they recommended a larger diameter 12.2" x 9" pitch to replace the 10 1/2" x 13p. I lost some top end, but hole shot and loaded with passenger performance improved tremendously. I plan on buying a 11.6" x 11p prop next season to seemif I can optimize a bit more with top end as I currently hit the tac limiter when running alone. Great boat, easy to launch and load by yourself, and has a very good trailer! Love the trout yacht

      Som engines cannot use earmufflers. They have the intakes upwards under the cavitation plate. But there might be a screw among the oilplugs for the underwarer housing kalled "Flush" on smaler engines it might be for a 1\4" coupling for waterhose cooling.

    • @mitchellfishingadventures
      @mitchellfishingadventures 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@kjellrogerjgensen60 The Mercury engines you're referring to that have the intake in the cavitation plate are the smaller tiller and kicker engines. Some of those have the intake on the side of the lower unit as well as in the cavitation plate. Of course older Mercury engines and other manufacturers can be different. In this I am referring to newer 4 stroke 40, 50, and 60 HP Mercury engines. Also the larger Mercury engines can need a nose cone cover as well as the ear muffs. With that being said the overall concept applies to any engine, meaning, if the cooling system is stopped up then it needs cleared.

    Like asking questions to regular guys, and you seem pretty on keel - would your Pro Shop had installed your upgrades when you originally bought the rig and added it to the overall cost (to be financed?) - I’m talking about things like the two bank charger, the trolling motor upgrades, and the depth finder upgrades (to keep anything from effecting your warranty regarding wiring and making sure your wiring is the correct size for the use). Couldn’t you also place a mount both up front and on the cockpit for the same device and move it back and forth as needed? You said you couldn’t afford upgrades to the trolling motor itself (for Spot-Hold) and so I thought if you knew what you wanted from the get go, couldn’t you just build that into the original purchase (financed) price and let the shop put it together (or in your experience, would they even do that)? I’m currently comparing three Tracker rigs to include what you have there - the Super Guide (what you have) to the Pro Guide V16 SC, to the Pro Team 175 ‘TF’ (their Crappie boat). The 175 ‘looks’ sexier lol, but both the Guides have a deeper inset (Pro being slightly larger) and I’m guessing a better ride mid-day - think my wife would be more comfy in the Pro SC - looking for feedback from anyone who’s been dealing with Bass Pro S already (if it were your first dip of the toe in this specific segment, where would you go with this?) Thanks

Upgraded mount (like a Scotty mount) in cockpit - and mounting the transducer stern? Two bank ‘battery charger’, how does it work and why does it not come with one? Would it recognize a lithium system if upgrading? With a Lithium upgrade, would I need a three tray 24V system? Mini Kota alternator charger to run the charger off the motor? Install a “Kicker” radio system and speakers, or does Tracker have something better for the current electrical harness? Is there a system that pairs to SiriusXM? Move engine mount to the second hole which gets the cavitation plate as close to even as it can be with the bottom of the hull to circumvent issues with water coming in over the transom when trimmed up. (something mentioned by ‘multiple’ people doing u-tube reviews) Four blade prop and extra drain plugs? Does the bilge pump have an internal float switch? Spear wheel/tire for the trailer , ladder systems for boarding in water, a Tracker trailer front step, and better boat buckles Bimini Top, Boat bumper holders, and rod holders that attach to VERSATRACK systems Anchor and rope

      Alright, I finally got to my house to answer your questions! Yes, Bass Pro Shops would have installed all of my upgrades for the price of the items and hourly fees. I could have financed all of that but I'm a very budget oriented person. On top of that I can do all of the installs myself which saves me a lot of money in the end. As far as me installing everything and your wiring concerns, I have not had to run any special wiring for any of the upgrades I have done. My boat comes with a small Garmin on the dash and I wired my Lowrance back into where it was wired to. The trolling motor I added only needed to have a plug wired onto it and no changes to the boat. Both trolling motors are 12volts. The charger just wires directly onto the battery so there was no changing anything on the boat itself to add that. All of those upgrades I added "should not" void any warranty for the vessel. With that being said, if there were a problem with any of them I would just fix it myself instead of having to wait for a shop to do it. As far as moving the fish finder from the console to the front, that could be an option but would take some money to accomplish and I could just put that money towards a new unit. To accomplish what your asking about moving it back and forth I would need a second transducer, power cable, and cradle. After spending the money on those things I would rather just purchase a second complete unit and not have to hassle with moving it back and forth. So my specific boat comes with a Minnkota Powerdrive and it does not have "spot lock". I already owned a Motorguide XI3 and it does have "pin point" which is Motorguides version of "spot lock". What I meant by "not having the money", was to upgrade the whole trolling motor itself. The Motorguide that I have with "pin point" is the cheapest trolling motor on the market that I know of with "pin point". I currently don't have enough money to buy a complete trolling motor which is why I opted to try the Motorguide pedal for my XI3. The pedal was only $211 where as a trolling motor with "spot lock" or "pin point" would be more along the lines of $1500. Once again yes I could have added that second graph and another upgraded trolling motor onto the final price of the boat but I wanted as cheap of a payment as I could get, and I like to work on boats, and I need the content for the channel. So I opted to install it all myself and use what I already have. Finally, all 3 of those boats are completely different from one another. The Super Guide and Pro Guide are along the same lines as each other and if you're going to be in bigger water then the deeper hull helps with the ride. I really like the way my Super Guide looks in and out of the water. To me it's more of a semi deep v than just a deep v like the Pro Guide. We looked at the Pro Guide and it was quite a bit more money than the Super Guide. That was a big factor in why we chose the Super Guide and we couldn't be happier with our choice. The TF is a good boat, we used to have one, but I'd take my Super Guide over it any day. The ride is better, the layout is better, and the payment is better. I have a family of 4 and we fit great in the Super Guide but we felt cramped in the TF. If it were just me and my family didn't want to enjoy the lake with me, I would buy a 175txw tomorrow. The TF has a layout that I didn't find functionable. As far as the Bass Pro Shops, every Bass Pro has a different staff and I've heard good stories and bad stories. I personally had a bad experience at an independent dealer when I bought my TF, but a great experience at my Bass Pro when I bought my Super Guide. I would tell you that the best thing to do is talk to the staff and get a feel for them as all Bass Pro Shops are the same, but different. I know this is long winded but I hope it helps!

      I'll throw my opinions on this as well! I know it costs more money but you should ALWAYS max out the horsepower of the boat you're buying. The jump just from a 60hp to a 75hp is REALLY significant and that's not even maxing out that boat. No you don't have to buy a Ghost to get the "spot lock". If you end up with a Super Guide or a Pro Guide I would steer you towards a Minnkota Terrova or Minnkota Ulterra. I know that Lowrance just put out a new trolling motor called the Recon and it's along the same lines as those two. There's also a Garmin Kracken that's also along the same lines as well. ALL ARE PRICEY!!!!!! You do not need to go to lithium unless you just want to. You can run lead acid on any of those and be just fine. There are benefits to Lithium but it's not a have to. The only one of those trolling motors I listed above that comes with "spot lock" in a 12volt version is the Terrova. All the others would need at least a second battery to jump up to 24volts. The Voltage you would need would be determined by the trolling motor you bought. I answered the fish finder moving in the other comment so I'll skip that one here. As far as the charger, it would depend on the charger you bought on whether it would read lithium or not. Some do and some don't. The one's that do are more expensive than the one's that don't. The boat's that are more on the budget end don't come with them because, they're budget boats. The Pro Guide 175 is the first boat in the Super Guide or Pro Guide line that comes with a charger. All Pro Team 175's come with a charger. The only battery that gets charged off of the Engine is the Cranking Battery. Then with the stereo situation, just like the charger, the higher end boats start to have them already installed. You can install a stereo on any boat but, I feel like a great option that doesn't cost a lot of money is a bluetooth speaker. They can get LOUD and sound really good. Tracker has a set rigging spec for each of it's boats with every engine combination. The height of the 60hp on a Pro Guide v16 is going to be different from a 90hp and so on. My Super Guide came in mounted way too low, it was one of the first boats out of the factory since they came back out with that model, and my Tracker Marine Boating Center service shop moved it to where the cavitation plate is even with the bottom. Since then I know other boats of the same model have come in with the engine in the same place as they moved mine to so Tracker Marine must have corrected that issue during Rigging at the Factory. Tracker also matches every boat with what prop they feel will perform the best with the hull and engine combo. The Super Guides come with a 4 blade prop. The old 175tf I had came with a 60hp engine and a 3 blade prop. That prop sucked and I bought a 4 blade Spitfire prop. That 4 blade changed the entire feel of the boat and engine combo for the better. Now the 2025 175's with 60hp that I have seen have the 4 blade Spitfire prop from the factory. I always urge anyone to use whatever vessel they have to get a feel for it before making changes like props and such. My Super Guide did not come with an auto float in the bilge. I changed out my bilge pump to one with an auto float that's built into the pump housing. It was cheap and easy to do. The same as the others with the spare tire situation. More expensive boats come with spare tires, the budget boats do not. None of the Super Guides, Pro Guides, or Pro Team 175's come with spares. The Pro Guide 175 is the only boat out of all of those I've mention that has a boarding ladder. Of course you can add them to any of the models they just don't come stock. Trailer steps, bimini top, boat bumpers, rod holders, anchors and ropes are all an add on for the budget boats. The tie down straps all suck, just upgrade to boat buckles! I hope you're seeing the theme here about the more you spend the more you get lol. I also hope this answered your questions.

    I am looking for a new boat and checked out your video. Great information for someone who hasn't been on this model, yet ! One question I have is that it doen't look like there is a lot of room between the seats to walk through. What are your thoughts?

    • @mitchellfishingadventures
      @mitchellfishingadventures 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@1201chesapeake Before I answer, thank you for watching and for the compliments. They're much appreciated. You're very correct that there really isn't much room between the seats. It's pretty tight with no one sitting in them to get between them. What we personally do is use the rod locker as a "catwalk" to get around. The boat is so stable that it doesn't roll much when you're on one side. So when the seats are occupied it just seems like the best choice to go from the front to the back. There are a couple of "Family Fun" videos on the channel where you can see how we all move around. I hope this helps!

      @mitchellfishingadventures 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@scottackley4562 that's interesting. Mine came in the fourth hole and I had the same issue when I trimmed. It wasn't a small amount either. I took a video and went to my Tracker service center and it was moved to the second hole which gets the cavitation plate as close to even as it can be with the bottom of the hull. Since it has been placed in the second hole I haven't had any water come over the transom. That was all done before I started recording videos.

    i did the 12 gal upgrade on mine as well. i did put the tank to the right turned batteries on the left to fit the onboard charger, works out well, i do leave my cap loose when parked, covered in the sun my tank swelled like the blueberry kid on willie wonka. up front i added 9 by 24 cargo netting in the track system on both sides of the deck. boat bumpers fit perfectly in them and leaves room under the deck. agree theres not much storage onboard, i will be also adding a 4 set light setup , blue led for floor lighting at night. saw it done and works very well for night runs for walleyes. soft blue light that wont night blind ya. may run it off a seperate 12 10ah lithiom battery. also going to add the cargo netting across the rear deck bought one thats 15 by 34 and its to tall need to go with the 9 inch tall. , but it give space for rain gear flat tackel boxes and such that wont be tripped over. thanks for posting. cant figure out how to share pics on the replys or i would show ya my tank/battery setup. be safe

    • @mitchellfishingadventures
      @mitchellfishingadventures 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@RebNBlue thanks! So the reason that I ended up with this boat is because it's a budget boat that I can fish out of AND take my family out to cruise and play. It does all of those things extremely well. It rides very smooth and doesn't beat you to death like modified v bottoms can. I'm actually about to extend the front deck another couple of feet to gain some more storage. Storage is really what this boat lacks in my opinion. So to finally answer your question, yes I think that this would absolutely be a great first boat because you can try it all in it. The only thing I will add is this, if you're only ever going to be fishing for bass and no other water activities then I'd look at a modified v because they're built more for just a bass angler.

      @@RebNBlue You're welcome. I love talking about fishing and boats! It sounds like you want the boat for the same reasons I did. The price is grea as well. I did add the 12 gallon tank and a battery charger. I have videos doing a walk thru where I talk about what I have upgraded and what is coming for upgrades. I also have a video of my battery charger install. The rod storage is ok. We get 2 rods for my daughters and 4 to 5 casting rods all at once. They all do have rod socks on them though.
