Northwest "G" Railroad Club Layout Tour Brooks, Oregon Antique Powerland "Brooks Steam Up"
มุมมอง 37211 ปีที่แล้ว
This was a cab view tour of the club layout that belongs to the club I attend. Northwest "G" Railroad Club. The camera is an LG Lucid. The locomotive is a USA Trains GP30. The train my locomotive is pulling is 8 cars long, consisting of mainly rock cars. The other trains seen here are an Amtrak bullet train, Thomas the tank engine and an Aristocraft 4-6-2 Pacific Union Pacific "just out of the ...

This video was filmed on my friends G scale layout. I do not know as much about the details as I do on my own layout. I do know that this was filmed on the same locomotive as my previous video. The roadbed is quarter minus gravel. This layout consists of about 500ft of track, however, only about 275ft were seen on this tour. most of the track is LGB and Aristocraft.

This video is taken on the front of my USA Trains GP30 HLCX 1057 (x-UP). This is a medium sized layout (approx. 100ft). Most of the track is Aristo-Craft Euro style track. Most of my freight cars are Bachmann, USA Trains and Aristo-Craft. I use quarter minus gravel as roadbed. The scenery consists of Drarf Boxwood trees, Steppable plants and other miniature trees you can find at Kroger, Fred Me...

June 16th, 2013 Amtrak Cascades arrives into Salem, Oregon Train Station with BN # 3143 (GP50 in original paint livery) on the point. Amtrak #507 had broken down somewhere in Washington. This is what they scrounged together to get Amtrak to Eugene, Oregon. (*note* This locomotive is only geared for 70mph. The train will NOT be able to achieve the speed of 79mph north of Eugene.)

Thanks very nice always love trains
Finally an explanation of why they reverse south before heading north. thanks
Do you happen to know if this was the 3” one or the 2.5” one
Can you make more video about driving in commercial street? I used to live there and I kinda miss that place.
I'll keep that in mind. I have tons of new dashcam videos. They're mainly shared on Facebook. I'll see if I can upload one sometime
That is nowhere near a 500 ton beam, probably closer to 125 tons.
Precisely, and if you read the description, you would already know that
@@mk7.5alltrack And if you knew that you would change the title.
@@10p6 wow you really are upset about something
@@mk7.5alltrack If I am, I guess most of the other comments are too.
what was the time and speed? all i can remember it was over 200mph and less than 6 seconds lol
I used to haul those....they are probably 200k max....most likely 150ish.
Check the description <3
Salems not too bad. I'd prefer it to McMinnville for living, definitely even if there are some bad parts. I might even take a trip there real soon again too. hang out at AVVA cigars or something, go shopping.
If anyone bothered reading the Description it states that the beams weigh 200,000 pounds EACH, and there are FOUR of them. The total load adding in the vehicles is 500 TONS. This weight is distributed across all four LONG vehicles; therefore the weight on individual axles and tires is within safe limits.
False title. No way in hell those weigh a million pounds. Not even the total combined weight of all three add up to that much. The tires would explode!
Hi wow this video is years old but I hope you can still give me advice on this...Im considering moving to Salem, OR or Vancouver, WA. I know they're an hour apart, which place is just simply better to be in? I would appreciate any tips. Thank you
I'm partially biased because i live in Salem. But i do believe salem is much better to drive in. Everything is spread out across the city a little better. Shopping is easy almost anywhere. And the city is slowly being changed to handle more traffic. So Salem is better than Vancouver
the Couve commute to Portland's a bee-atch. Salem's a cultural wasteland. You're better off staying put.
Not even close to a million pounds lmao
This load weighed in at 1,075,000 including tractor and trailer
@@mk7.5alltrack B.S! PROVE IT!
@@waynemetevia7983 I'm sorry I can't. I was informed by the statesman journal newspaper. I no longer have a subscription. But if you do feel free to research it further.
@@mk7.5alltrack No problem. Sounds to me like that newspaper either doesn't check it's sources or is only interested in selling newspapers. I'm sure those loads are quite heavy but nowhere near as much as their claiming. Nearly all semi tires only hold about 100 p.s.i. air pressure. If a load weighed anywhere close to what they're saying it would blow the tires. Thank you for replying.
It was me.
"That is the ugliest thing in the known universe" Yeah, that seems about right.
Not too shabby
What was the 0-60? What mods do you have?
Frank Pate the mods are in the description. I'm not sure what the 0-60 is being a manual trans it would be very inconsistent. ive seen anywhere from 5.5s to 6.5s
you should block license plates
A1legbuttkicker2 Why would there be a need to? nobody is incriminating themselves.
That sounds heavenly. Do you get much popping and is there any drone at cruising speeds?
Gino20202. There is no drone at all at any speeds. There frequently is popping on a cold start and when the throttle is blipped a little at lower rpms
Dodge88Dakota Thanks! Is that the only mod at the time you filmed this - no downpipe or anything else? It sounds so good in this video. I've been watching a ton of videos of MK7 GTIs with this, Corsa, Remus, Magnaflow, etc. This sounds the best. I just ordered it.
Gino20202 you're gonna love it. buy yourself am exhaust hangar tool to make the install easier. the only other mod at this time was an Injen intake.
Us lol n my tires were dondada
As an alternative to 30 year old superliner or amfleet stock they're pretty good but ohmigod that cab car is uuuugly. Let's face it, a lot of European train sets are... distinctive.
That Camry is sick. I used to work at the les schwab right there off commercial and he came in man that thing is bad. Truck sounds good too.
exactly.
omg! wtf?
Its because everyone hates the looks of the talgo train set.
My truck? The Straight piped 239 cu. in. ?
Car
Make a video of your CA that you drive
Because, the last time I checked, there were no 550ft tall people walking around
How come you never show your face
This is at one of my friend's house in Salem, OR
Were is this at
I know it's only a cab car but I think it world be pretty neat if it was powered, then Amtrak could have another high speed set.
Funnyguy
Yeah. It looks like a couple hundred dollars in tires were used
Whoever it was, looks like they had a good time! ;)
Yeah, that pretty much sums it up.
Lol ur funny
Darn, I was doing really good with no dislikes. Too bad, I wonder why the person disliked my video?
I agree, I love the green & black. The last time I saw this paint scheme, I was in Montana ;)
Nice catch, love the BN paint scheme, remember seeing those on the head end of the "hot" piggy-back trains back in the 80's /90's in the suburbs of Chicago.
Yeah, I like watching them switching cars. It looks kind of dangerous to be backing up that far, but they're very experienced
LOL
No, no I haven't.
hahaha, thats so funny. I agree with your styling points
good point
That is an excellent idea, IF they were to power the cab car, a genset would be very reasonable. And, a DASH 9 weighs approx 450,000lbs, a heavyweight at best, this cab car weighs barely 1/4 of that. I can see it easily derailing upon the impact of a load semi truck weighing nearly as much at 79mph
If you mean power as in electricity for the coffee makers and lights, then yes, it does produce power, however, there is not, nor will there ever be, a motor/engine to propel this train in any way shape or form.
Dodge, you need to do more research before you automatically assume the powercar's a cab car
Perhaps you are not understanding, there is no motor in the rear facing CAB CAR, nor will there ever be The unit (CAB CAR) weighs 53 tonnes (106,000 lbs) very unsafe to be travelling at 79mph. You really need to research before you comment again.
Its called a CAB CAR. Please think before you speak. BTW safety has EVERYTHING to do with hitting people. The human skull is very capable of piercing through glass and killing an engineer or conductor.
