One thing MANY of you are not taking into consideration is emoting. Singing is more than being able to be technically correct in the way you vocally deliver musical notes but it is more importantly about how good you are at being able to effectively tell a story, evoke emotion, and connect with a listener using your voice and let me tell you ladies and gentlemen, Demi wins this hands down. If we are talking about technicalities of singing, sure, one could argue Ariana is the better technical singer but Demi has what Ariana doesn’t. When Demi sings, especially her ballads, you feel that thing in the depths of your soul. She emotes. She knows how to tell a story and invoke the emotion, the pain, the passion that the lyrics of the song need. Ariana is a tremendous singer, yes. But she does not connect or emote to where you get the same effect that Demi gives. Any expert will tell you that singing is much more than the technicalities of what you’re able to do with your voice. Just look at Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, or any of the other greats. Yes, vocally they are technically amazing BUT they EMOTE. It’s their ability to evoke an emotion within listeners that makes them great. Demi has that; Ariana not so much unfortunately. Ariana will give you the pretty notes all day long but when Demi sings you’ll feel the pain, the emotion, the chills because she EMOTES.

They are both Good but I prefer Demi's tone and clarity especially in enunciation.

Round 1 : ariana a little struggle on the lows note the highs are tense and shallow , demi pretty cool mid belting good technique not too pleasant runs i preferred demi Round 2 : not bad ariana the high is not that good though , demi a little monotoned at the beginning and the run is not fast and it is sloppy i preferred ari Round 3 : really sweet tone for ariana a little breathy she uses tongue tension for stylistic choices decent , demi was hitting those notes decently i preferred ari Round 4 : a little too monotoned for ariana did not like that too breathy falsetto , not bad for demi i preferred demi Round 5 : ringy for ariana due to her head dominant mixing , demi waw that drive girl too i preferred demi Round 5 : a good climax there ari a little tense on the high note but she is always like that , demi her runs are a lil better waw demi dynamically better than ari and technically too waw she used that lil bit of gospel style for demi ofc Round 6 : what tf is ariana doing too monotoned and no texture bad dynamically , demi rlly good placement on the low belt i preferred demi Round 7 : liked the transitions ari loved how she hit all the notes on pitch , demi really throaty and struggling a lot of distortion straining really so ari Round 8 : that e5 was reallly baddd not consistent slid under the note not on pitch at all she lost it ariana , i preferred demi Round 9 : did not like the breathy and forced lows other than that not bad , demi nice resonant low belts the diction is amazing too so demi

I loooove Demi Lovato!!! Her range is amazing. I don't think she gets the recognition she greatly deserves as an artist. Her voice is so powerful and unique from other singers...love her sound. And as for her outside beauty she's flawless!! Ariana is great, but I'm in the Demi team.
