What a beautiful day to take advantage of a solo adventure. I found a park and ride my bike, and found a nice trail to walk. Peaceful. No voices, no interruptions. Therapy. HoverAir X1 vs MY TRUCK - Final attempt at testing the limits of the HOVERAIR X1
มุมมอง 202หลายเดือนก่อน
The Hoverair X1 is an incredible selfie stick with wings. So capable at doing a few things VERY WELL. But, after multiple tries, can I get it to follow my truck? Will this device be more than it needs to be? Or will I need to upgrade to the X1 Pro, or the Pro Max? Either way, am TOTALLY pleased with this piece of tech. Better than I could have imagined. #hoverairx1 #campinglife

So fun to watch! Great virtual experience❤
Nice review. This is a park I have never heard of. I have enjoyed Lake Summerville a number of times but missed this little gem.
@@JamesMidgettme you gotta go!!
I think that radiant barrier needs an air gap!
I love seeing the score! I only see the bass clef line. Where is the treble clef?
@@Missionairsoft lol I deleted it 🤦
Amazing video. I'm a fan of this channel.
Thank you!!!
What length of bolts did you use to mount it to the roof down through the ceiling? I am about to attempt the same project only with the 180-degree awning.
Here’s how I attached mine. There are probably better engineered ways, but it’s workouted out fine for over 3 years! th-cam.com/video/U3z0f4lOgjE/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared
I have many of drons. And I am looking forward to X1 Pro Max. If it does not fill the short comings of all my others, I will drag X1 Pro Max name through the mud. But I feel it will come out sparkling end the end. Fingers crossed.
@@AnotherCG hard to choose these days. I really want the pro max, but look at what others like Skydio and DJI Neo offer. But the Hover so soooooo easy to deploy. I’m in safety, and I keep it in my truck at all times just in case.
Perhaps the new X1 pro with beacon will do the trick?
@@2limbo That would be sweet. I know there are other drones out there that cost just a bit more. Maybe even used, that can do what I want. But the X1 is so easy!
Have a feeling the Pro Max with all its sensors will do it without the beacon. Coming soon…
@@scottgivens27 you could be right! My problem with the Hover is of o want a shot of me traveling across a river, I can’t control from my phone because the distance is too far from the drone. So I’d have to set the drone to hover, place my phone on a rock, drive across the river to set the shot and THEN drive back across the river towards the drone. Meh. Either way, I’m pretty happy with it. The quality could be better but for the money and innovation I’m super happy!
X above the head.
@@AnotherCG lol I should have read the instruction book. I stood there like a doofus for a minute too 😂😂😂
...so, did it follow you while ur driving ur truck? where's the video clip?
@@odlanorirom it’s an on going question I’m having with zero zero. I’m recording again to show EXACTLY what it does. If I hold my hand out the window and launch it, it’ll lock onto my face and record for 3 seconds. Then when I drive even a foot forward, it stops 🤷. I’m still learning though so maybe I’m doing something wrong?
@@CampTherapy ....thanks....i see....perhaps you can try this: set it on tracking mode then at the start when trying to turn on the drone, face the camera at your truck and not at your face/body...so it will 'bind' with ur truck and not you...just a theory...
@@odlanorirom hmm that might work. Imma try that tomorrow and do a full review of my findings. Thank you so much for reaching out. These little videos are very rewarding for me.
@odlanorirom I’ve subscribed!
@@CampTherapy ...thanks I've subscribed as well...been planning to get my hands on skydio R2 drone because of its superior tracking and obstacle avoidance tech but Skydio has discontinued their consumer drones...I had a DJI spark but its pretty useless for tracking....now its seems that the newly released hoverair x1 pro and promax will be a great alternative...
I like the step tool box
@@Treckor2 THANK YOU! We use it all the time 👍
Anyone in Central Texas that can do this AC for me? Thanks for the great video.
@@sandykquilts I got everything from Home Depot. Even the AC! Was a quick build and not hard to do if you take it on yourself 🤙
Wait till you kick that at night…..😂
Oooo hope not! lol our feet come nowhere near it. That whole area closes off as our bathroom and change area.
Love your batwing awning. Just letting you know that I'd go with racket straps for safety only because my brother from another mother whom is a very seasoned camper. Was using and had used bungee cords forever. However sadly enough a bungee popped loose and hit him in the eye,and now he's blind in that eye. So we changed to racket straps. Safe travels
N O T E D! That’s awful though. I hope he’s ok!
Thanks for posting! I was looking for info about this park as most of the parks near me are booked solid every weekend.
Keep checking! It’s an awesome get away!❤️
Hey, fella. Nice unit, did you put the wind break section on the front? Very practical.
Sorry I’m not following. What’s the wind break section?
@@CampTherapy the front area on the trailer, I'm making one and am making it square.

Absolutely! Get out there when you can 😊 thanks for the sub!!!
Looks awesome! Shhhh! Don’t spread the word on Lake Brownwood too much. That’s one of our favorites and never seems to be too busy!
It is awesome isn’t it?! Hidden jem!
Cool, this air con set up is exactly what I have planned for my caravan, I accidentally bought one thats way too big and takes up valuable space, but I got a good deal on it. The drawer sliders are a great idea.
Sometimes I wish I hung mine higher, but we don’t have to worry about worrisome supports this way and since it’s only a 6x12, it seems to cool the trailer fairly well. Texas get HOT though!
Can you lower the ramp under this?
Sorry for the late reply. Yes we can lower the ramp. With all the other canopy supports, leaving one up hasn’t seemed to cause an issue.
Hi I’m a new cargo conversion owner in Austin too!
Since of the best’ tester’ grounds around. We just returned from Fort Davis Mountains and this little camper did great!
Great job nice and clean. Add things if you need.
THANK YOU! We’re novice to the camper world but pretty pleased with our first build. A dry camper let’s you into sites most rvs aren’t allowed because you bring all the water and power you need. Just like tent camping!
Enjoyed the tour of your conversion, good job! Here's a link to my video of 3 years ago with a similar A/C setup. th-cam.com/video/NfkDqKMSSLc/w-d-xo.html&lc=UgxNTMQVIva6ew9AK6J4AaABAg
YES!!! This video inspired our build fully.

Watched a few of your videos just now trying to figure out what are the inside walls made of. They look absolutely beautiful.. i would not want anything different (especially the color). But it does look like DRYWALL, is it? If so, that's bananas. I would not put drywall into my DIY trailer.. And if it's something else, i would love to know what that material is! Thanks.
Sorry for the late reply. It’s actually the original walls that came with the trailer! We removed them and put sheeps wool in for insulation then reinstalled the walls, and painted them green. The walls stay cool in the summer and warm in the winter. The ac and heater are a must in Texas. Very straight forward build! Hope this helps 😀
Good job! Maybe I'll have enuff for a trailer one of these days...
You will. This was a base model 6x12 and we saved for a year. My back doesn’t like setting tents anymore, but I do miss the sound of a zipper! So we all still use sleeping bags 😃
Luv how the rubber mats covered the floor side to side! Guess it's a good idea to keep that in mind when buying the trailer lol (which I don't have yet).
Oh man it’s a time saver for clean up and sliding heavy things over the floor. I saw Home Depot sells the foam rubber mats that look like hardwood floors. That might look awesome!
Wow, 27 to 57? Awesome lil buddy guy, guess you don't need the ceiling wool lol
Actually I should have put in more insulation in the floor and ceiling. Live and learn I guess 🤦
Glad you're deciding to put insulation on the ceiling; remember, heat rises, so what little you have would otherwise just escape, and with an AC, it won't be roasting you in the summer IMO.
Did you consider a stand up portable ac with exhaust thru floor? Just wondering how you thought this out Thx for the good vid
You can see my setup in the link above but I just wanted to say that I tried the portable A/C with the exhaust through the floor just as you described and it did not work well at all. There are various reasons cited all over the internet as to why that is, but the difference between one of those and a regular window unit is very considerable. In the heat of the summer the portable unit was maybe 2-3 degrees cooler than the exterior whereas the window A/C can bring the temps down 10-15 degrees.
I kind of considered it but I had a buddy with a portable and it didn’t render results like he wanted. The whole thing was an experiment honestly. It’s a small camper though so it gets cool fast. If I did it all over, I’d probably get a mini split installed. But they’re pricey. Some day though! We thought about solar too, but I need more research to do it myself. Thanks for the comment 😀
Thanks for the comment! I wish sometimes I had set the ac higher to handle the rising heat. But I wanted it on slides for easy stow n go. Maybe a second window unit? Lol!
Neat idea. Great job. Well executed.
THANK YOU! nervous first build. WHAT AM I DOING lol
I like it - very simple set up go get out. In time, if you think you need elec. easy enough to add on. Same as water. I do have a 30amp setup for state parks and such. I do have plumbing but I don’t carry a tank. If available- I hook up with white rv hose and it’s done. If boon docking - I carry 2 , 5 gallon water cans. (Just wife and me) and that gets us 2-3 days. Everything is a work around right! Keep getting out and enjoy the times off grid. Scott. Metro Atlanta
This comment made my day. I love the simple set up and the ease of use. I thought about solar but so far haven’t needed more than 4 days of power. Then we go somewhere and recharge our Duracell gas less generator. But I’m tempted 😎
I hate to say but thoes welds look cold. I am a welder and my opinion is they won't hold up over time.
Even though it's in aluminum? ( I've only welded on steel so I have no idea, this is a genuine question)
agree. not good penetration on some of them.
Your probably right. I hope they hold up though. At least a few more seasons. Camping in a tool shed on wheels is risky enough. The awning is a 100% bonus. Everything could totally go wrong. But meh 😜 it’s fun to do stuff.
I had the exact same idea with the a/c door but I haven’t seen anyone do it until now. Can you give more details on the trap door like did you fabricate it yourself or did you buy it? How did you make the drawer?
A quick trip to Home Depot. I had never made anything like this before but some aluminum angle bar, and aluminum diamond plate and outdoor black paint did the trick for the ac door. I bought heavy duty cabinet drawer slides for the ac platform to slide on. You gotta do some measuring for the inside height of the slide platform so it slides in and out easily. All in all, it was relatively simple and cheap. Self tapping screws and gorilla glue are best for this build.
Check out this one with a mini split AC unit. th-cam.com/video/I-VgDMhr6IA/w-d-xo.html
Nice
THANK YOU!
looks good if you ask me. 🙂
How much was the batwing?
I think it was 8 or 900. Kinda steep but we saved for a looooooooong time lol. Look up OVS batwing awning on Amazon. We’ll worth it though. I’ve endured many rain storms with no issues.
Just subscribed to your channel. Great simple build. We bought a cargo trailer 6x10 that had water and electric so we're trying to change the bed set up that was in it with a twin bed. I would love to see how you set up your bed. We don't live farm from you in Houston TX. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks! I’ll make a video that shows the different bed set ups we’ve come up with. Sometimes I wish we had power and water but we like our little project. We called her Raven.
I have had this as an idea! Thanks for the details.
It works great! I wish I’d have placed it just a little higher. But it still keeps us cool 😃
Hi my friend lol
It’s hiking time! Love the scenery :)
Thats awesome dude. Very very cool.
The lights on the bottom of the beds is a great idea.
Looks great bub! Where'd ya pick up the windows?
