Well chuckles,,,, put a damn piece of orange tape on on it. Now let's see how it improves the service.
Maybe they where colorblind and thought the red was orange 😂
My daily is a 2011 f150 5.0. It's been a decent truck. I want to keep it longer but yet I want something newer with less miles. There's big discounts on 24's now but I still don't want to pay 48k for a xlt pickup. 40k I'll sign the papers tho.
Orange 🤔🤔🤔 it's 240 three phase not 277v/ 480v
It’s a 3.3 liter v6
Yes you’re right. They used to be 3.5L N/A engines and then went to a 3.3L. Thanks for that correction.
The NEC Code requires that the high leg be identified by an orange color (it was often referred to as a red-leg delta) or by other effective means and is usually the “B” phase.
Supposed to be white for nuetural
Getting a 2024 f150 XL 5.0L V8 any recommendations or says that I shouldn’t?
My opinion it’s the better motor choice since it’s 8 cylinders and still reliable compared to other V8s on the market. I’ve put 6k miles in 2 months on my 2024 Lariat and enjoy it anytime I get in. My previous truck was a 2021 3.5EB. Although the 3.5 was more peppy in the city the 5.0 is the better highway cruiser. Depends what you’re looking for but I do a lot of highway driving and even while I tow I don’t feel it overworking. My 3.5EB did achieve better fuel economy around town but it’s the same on the hwy. Get the 5.0 and do a muffler delete and every other truck owner will ask how you achieved such a nice sounding truck 😝
@ gonna be driving it to and from work and I’ll be on the highway a lot just driving around and going to and from work
@@InnoSZN yea you can’t go wrong with the 5.0 then. You’ll love the sound especially if you go muffler delete but then you’ll have slight drone on highway which I don’t care about.
@@benzamg336 alright thanks on the info
I just bought the same truck 2 weeks ago (Dec 2024) . The V-8 is your smartest move. They are so popular they are getting very hard to find so grab it NOW. Deals on 2024's are sensational. My 2024 STX 4x4 with a 5.0 was stickered at $54k. I bought it for $44k.
Well, the green/ground wire has masking tape on it, did u notice that?
Wuts the difference, the guy taped it. Genius
Good thing I chose the 2024 Nissan Titan with the 5.6L Endurance V8 in it over any overpriced EcoBoost F150.
What job do you have to have and how much money do you have to make to afford these overpriced plastic EcoBoost trucks?
Had 2 F150s. Both end of life before their time due to engineering issues that Ford knew about. Never buying another Ford.
@@mikepanzetta4154 who asked?
What job do you have and how much money do you make to afford these overpriced EcoBoost trucks?
Good thing I've bought a 2024 Nissan Titan with the 5.6L Endurance V8 in it with 400 HP and 413 Ibs of Torque over the 2024 Ford F150 with a 5.0L Coyote V8 in it with 400 HP and 410 Ibs of Torque.
I’ve bought a 2024 F-150 5.0 V8 coyote and much glad I did over a Nissan or Dodge or Chevy with their lifter issues. Nissan is going under soon and I wouldn’t be surprised if in 2-3 years you can’t even buy parts for the brand anymore. Sure the F-150 is more expensive but it’s been the number 1 selling pick up in America for years for a reason. What’s unimpressive is that Nissan 5.6L makes 3 more torque than the 5.0L. The 5.0 has port injection and is the quicker truck around town and highway. I’ve put 6k miles in 2 months so far and no issues on my brand new coyote. Maintenance is key when it comes to any vehicle. People overlook that and when it craps itself people tend to cry about it and say the brand is unreliable. The Fords also have better payload and max towing than any half ton as well. The 5.0 is also much more capable and better handle boost if one desires to go that route. Basically an overbuilt engine in a pick up.
@benzamg336 Except the new 5.0 has cylinder deactivation as well as Auto stop start crap where the 5.6L Endurance V8 in the Nissan Titan does not and plus the Titan has a 5 year 100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty as well as a lifetime power train warranty (which Ford doesn't offer in either of those categories).
@ Auto stop I turn off anytime I jump in it not a big deal 99% of vehicles nowadays got that feature. Cylinder deactivation is not as problematic as people make it seem. Much better system than in the Chevy that cause lifter issues. Put it in tow or sport mode it doesn’t use it. Sure would have been better without it as it doesn’t help with my fuel consumption much. Every brand has its set of new difficulties due to gov regulations but I feel the 5.0 is still the best option among all in the half ton line up. You can also get rid of auto stop and cylinder deactivation once you run out of the 5 year/60000miles warranty by a tune.
@benzamg336 have you driven an Ecoboost before?
@@BoostKingMatt Yes my previous pick up was a 21 F-150 with the 3.5EB. Actually had 60k miles in 3 years of driving and not even a hiccup. Regular 5k oil change interval and your turbos and engine will not give up on you. Loved it and its turbo spool noises low end power but I’ve always been a fan of V8s. When I got my new one I optioned it with the 5.0. It lacks in low end power to the 3.5EB but that’s due to higher up powerband. Does make up for it when you’re cruising. I’ve also done a muffler delete on my 24 Lariat it sounds very good. I’m often being asked why my truck sounds so good by others with a F-150 and my response is 5.0 and muffler delete 🤪
1. Always do your research BEFORE you arrive at the dealer. Preferably, shop online, start a dialogue with the dealer via email or text (I hate using phone calls in the initial contact). Know what rebates you qualify for (easy to lookup online). Compare dealer discounts from dealer to dealer. Politely DECLINE any paint protection, theft detection. 2. Don't take a quick test drive around the block. Get the vehicle up to speed, preferably on the highway, do some start/stops/acceleration. <<Random comments>>> Rare you're going to find a 4.10 gear ratio in a F150 (yes, worth it to get the 3.55/3.73)....... I lost interest after 4:50. :-\
Fords suck bad transmissions. I think 93 recalls just about says it all. Junk. Also the eco junk engines for has no quality anymore they push them out the door for 70000 dollars Fuk that
Without article section number, YT videos referring code are irrelevant.

@ The most important thing to know before buying a Ford is don’t buy a Ford. 😁
Avoid turbo, and become rich
Agree I bought the 5.0 V8
Definitely not for Non Mechanically Inclined People. Many Over 200,000 with no Problems. It all comes Down To Common Sense. And Staying on Top of Preventative Maintenance. As with any Vehicle.
I don't mean to be a crybaby but I wish I knew that ford wasn't going to get and use government money and I wish I knew that from 10th gen on they have had a lot of issues and I wish I knew that they were never going to bring back the updated version of the 300 I-6!
Did he really say the 2.7 and 3.5 are very reliable? The issue he had with the red truck was not lack of regular oil charges. Those 3.5s only had direct injection so what he seen was a common problem. Thats why ford went to direct and port injection. Also the 5.0 is not kinda reliable its the most reliable engine ford has!
Hahahahah you clearly know nothing about engines bud. Yes the gen 1 had only direct injection, but that has nothing to do with the issue in the picture. Thats under the valve cover. Fuel does not go in there 🤣 that was from lack of oil changes buddy.
@BoostKingMatt yeah but come on the 2.7 and 3.5 are not as reliable as the 5.0
@vr697getta not true. Plus it doesn’t matter. Theyre all good engines
@BoostKingMatt you did forget about one engine. The powerboost 3.5 hybrid alot of power and having a built-in generator is a huge plus!
My brother's truck with the 3.5 ecoboost took the big sh1t at 87k miles. I don't like them. 2.7? Trash. I'll got the 7.3l. Runs good and pulls hard.
Hi I went test drove a 2022 f150 Xlt sport 4x4 with the 2.7 engine while I was park and idling I would press on the accelerator and something would rattle or shudder in the engine every time I did that it would do that, what it was I don’t know didn’t buy it though it had 18k miles.
That’s nothing to be concerned with, it’s just the wastegate rattle. My truck does the same. It is nothing that’s going to fail.
Gotta get the 5.0
I work on more 5.0's than I do 2.7, 2.7 is a pretty solid engine. @@Forever.Remain.Nameless
@GoonyMclinux exactly hahahahaha
@@GoonyMclinuxThe question is, will it make it to a million miles like the 4.7L I-Force V8 in the 2010 Toyota Tundra?
It took me months to find the truck your describing, but I also wanted the 36 gallon tank and adaptive cruise. 3 months after I finally found it I ended up with a new job and a company truck. Couldn't make this up lol
So you’re saying you wanna sell it…? Please?? Lol
Spend your money on a Nissan Frontier. Naturally aspirated engine and a totally dependable truck, I will never buy any turbocharged engine or something with electrical boost because of the problems they have. If your concerned about fuel mileage, buy a fricken bicycle.
Hahaha you have a point at the end there but you’re not gonna get anywhere coming to a ford loving channel and telling us to get a naturally aspirated Nissan?? You out of your mind? Never in a thousand years. You couldn’t pay me money to give up my Ecoboost f150.

I bought a 22 F-150 lariat brand new that truck has nothing but problems and then Ford never wanted to fix it my screen blocks out won't come back on my headlights won't work right my wipers don't work right I've taken it to Ford several times with videos of the problem and they just keep denying it so I really suggest not buying a Ford
Sounds like a dying battery. Haha I love it how people start having a simple problem and then say, don’t buy a ford!!!
@BoostKingMatt unfortunately dip head that's not a dying battery I took it to a real dealership and unfortunately the screen has to come out and all the computer components Ford kept putting it off so the warranty would run out but if I buy their extended warranty they'll fix it
@chrisfrieboes4841 I’m a dip head. Haha, I’m the owner of this channel goof ball, I can turn off your privilege to comment if you’re gonna be mean.
Well turn them off if you can't handle the truth then by all means turn them off
@chrisfrieboes4841 haha if you hate your ford why watch this video? My channel is ford focused, we love ford here.
Gear ratio - it is my understanding that the 3.75 will (always) give you more power to the ground but the 3.55….etc will get you better fuel mileage at the same speed because of a lower rpm.
Even if you’re not towing…. The 3.73’s might be the better choice for you. Will you be driving the truck in town more than on the highway? If so, 3.73’s are the better choice. I drive mostly in-town and tow once and awhile so I will be benefiting the most with 3.73’s
#1 the 10 speed 10R80 transmission is garbage, so make sure you buy an extended warranty that covers the entire powertrain. #2 if you are never going to tow anything over 7,000 lb the 2.7 EcoBoost is by far the best engine choice. It's not even a debate. That's all I got. I have a 2019 XLT Supercrew short box 4x4 with the 2.7, and I love almost everything about it, but the transmission is absolutely garbage.
As an owner of 4 previous F150s, I can tell you the 10 speed is definitely not ‘garbage’. Like most modern transmissions, once it learns your driving (at about 3-5k miles in my case), it’s great, and always keeps me right in the power band. My ‘23 Lariat 5.0 with 3.73 rear and Max Tow shifts perfectly, the engine pulls hard and sounds fantastic loaded or unloaded. And I still manage 20+ mpg mixed driving even with a 2” level. I’ve had two 3.5s, one which had the turbo replaced at 65k and suffered from cam phaser rattles. And hard on the gas they sound like sewing machines, although admittedly they do pull very hard. I’ve also had two 5.0s which have been (and continue to be) trouble free. So, what exactly makes the 2.7 ‘better?’
@jbar7243 thank you for speaking up against that comment. The 10 speed is amazing and being performance enthusiast my knowledge in the fast f150 world is higher than normal, and I know a lot of people with extremely powerful 5.0s and 3.5s who are still on the stock transmission. The 2.7 is not the “best” engine, each one has its purpose. If I want to build a truck with over 1000 hp I’m gonna get a 5.0. If I want a 6-700hp fun daily driver truck, I want a 3.5, which is what I have. I love the 2.7, but I had one, loved it, but I like the 3.5 more especially the extra power and torque. And when tuned it’s a total beast. The 2.7 is a beast tuned as well, but the 3.5 just has more power overall.
I ❤ my 10 spd. Haven't had any issues with it yet. Pulls just nice when I need the extram umphhh.
@@BoostKingMatt couldn't agree anymore! The 10 speed trans is fantastic! Always keeps you in the sweet spot with your engine. People claim it's hunting for gears but what does that really mean? Hunting means your looking for something. The trans isn't looking for something when you jump on it because it jumps 4-5 gears in one move when it downshifts. That's what it's supposed to do! Then it upshifts properly 1 gear at a time. Seems like people that claim its "hunting" don't have any experience with the 10 speed
@@jbar7243 You’ve said everything right. My new 24 F-150 5.0 I just picked up was more jerky than my previous 21 with the 3.5EB. Reason being that was pre owned and my 24 I got new. Once I put on 4k miles it does not have that concern anymore as it’s now adapted to my driving. The 10 speed on these are reliable and I’ve had 2 14th gen F-150 and no issues with either. I do not believe one should go the 100k miles on their OEM trans fluid as Ford suggests. That would cause issues on longevity running on that thin fluid transmissions have nowadays. No vehicle should go 100k miles on original fluid. If you want to make sure it shifts well throwout the years I’d suggest fluid and filter change every 30-40k tops 50k. depending on the usage of the truck. If you don’t pound on the truck everyday let it warm up properly and change fluid it’ll last the life of the vehicle.
Great Video!! Just bought a 2024 5.0 F150 303A. MSRP about 69k got it for 57K. I don't tow anything I just wanted a big truck, and this deal was hard to pass up.
Great choice
Soccer mom mall crawler.
I bought the same F150 XLT 4X4 5.0 new in 2019 for $42,000 and that was a decent deal. How vehicle inflation has risen is beyond ☆ucking ridiculous, and I hope the auto industry provides itself a free purge 👍
I’m scheduled to buy a F150 2.7L XLT ‘24 2WD with group 302A package. Let’s see if I go through with it tomorrow. No towing- just major highway commuting daily. 4K miles a month.
A 2.7 would be a good choice for that!
4k a month? Wow. What are you doing to accumulate that kind of mileage?
@@johnhahn8464 100 miles each way to work. Yep. It sucks. But I gotta pay the bills. I’m not moving anytime soon. That’s why I’m looking to move up from a small Tacoma to the full size F150. The drive is killing me.

@@ricflair8863 I've got a 23 f150 and it's a fantastic truck. Mine has the 5.0 which I believe is the best engine but they're all good. I'm considering putting the Whipple on mine aswell. Ofcourse for the kind of driving your doing the 2.7 is tough to beat. You'll really appreciate the seating position the the f150 compared to your tacoma. Completely night and day and the fuel economy with the 2.7 might even be better? Great choice youbwont be disappointed

Merry Christmas 😅👍 I recently picked up a 22 Raptor, it was so hard to find one in the exact spec I wanted. Any recommend mods or maintenance youd do? I know they fixed a lot of the gen 2 problems in the gen 3. Thing is SO much fun to drive
Thank you! You as well! That is awesome! The Gen 3 hasn’t proven to have any issues so far. Well, keep an eye on my channel, I’ve got a lot of crazy and awesome stuff coming for my 2022 3.5 f150. It’s got stage 4 turbos now, but we have a set of custom turbos coming for it. I would highly recommend you get a CVF intercooler, and make sure you change your oil every 3-5k miles. You should get a tune, it would be even more wild. I bet it is!! Those new raptors sound absolutely insane also!
I hope you also have a Merry Christmas Matt. So this is what I have done to my truck it has 600 miles on it it's the 3.5L and the way I understand it you can't really tune the 2024's something about the computers so I got this thing called a JB4 tuner because if I need some warranty work I can remove it. I also drove the 5 liter and I just liked the ecoboost's better. But I got the Jb4, C&L Proving Ground catback dual exhaust, a Turbosmart Intercooler, Turbosmart Vee Port Blowoff valve, and a K&N air filter. I just can't bring myself to spend 400$ for an air box that isn't gonna do anything but look cool. The jb4 pushes my boost up to around 20 pounds on Tune 2 I havent went above tune 2 but not sure what else to get anything you can recommend that won't void my warranty I am already worried about that big fat Intercooler sitting in there LOL. Take care brother!
You shouldn’t have to worry about the intercooler. Keep in mind, that warranty is really just there if your engine has a major issue which it probably won’t. I have voided my warranty already, and I don’t care. Thanks man
Never seen a high leg with orange tape lmao. I usually assume it's the red phase. Always test with meter. I hate 3 phase 120 anyways. 3 phase 480 is always easier and better
Should i put a BOV or nah?🤔
Yes! They sound awesome if nothing else!!
I forgot about the high leg once. Machine operators poor radio he had for years went to heaven.

Do I need to add additional modifications if I get the stage 2 kit? (Like any oil line upgrades for example)
Nope! You’re gonna want to order a whole bunch of parts for the swap though, like oil lines, coolant lines, seals, studs and nuts etc.
@ by chance can you direct me to like a common list of the exact parts? (brands stuff like that) n thank you !

Wrong. It does not "have" to be orange. NEC Art.110.15 specifically states: "...marked by an outer finish that is orange in color OR BY OTHER EFFECTIVE MEANS". "Other effective means" is the operative statement. Therefore, while orange is definitely the "preferred" color, the Hi-leg conductor may be [effectively] marked with any color (other than white, gray, or green), such that it is readily distinguished from the other phase conductors. Furthermore, it also only needs to be marked ("identified") in those locations (e.g., panelboards, J-boxes, etc.) where the neutral conductor is also present... If there's no neutral conductor, there's no requirement to identify the hi-leg. Lastly: I'd be more concerned with the unmarked neutral conductor )on the far right side, busbar). It should be marked with WHITE, but there is nothing! Now that's a Code violation! 😅
It says it has to be orange in color, so yes it has to be orange. I am not going to argue ways around the code book.
@BoostKingMatt I simply quoted you exactly what the 2023 NEC says: Art. 110.15. I'm not arguing... just look it up. Yes, orange IS the preferred color, however why would the Code then go on to state, "...or by other effective means"? That wording un-does the "must use orange" statement. As long as the Hi-leg is marked to differentiate it from the other phases, that meets Code. I've used red (and even yellow) many times, and never had an inspector question it. I've been in the trade for 40+ years (primarily industrial & commercial), retired in 2020, but still do side work (light commercial & residential). So what about that unmarked neutral conductor?
@ it says it must be orange, and then other effective means is orange tape obviously.
@ I think that neutral had white tape, but yes that’s a code violation too.
@BoostKingMatt But that's not what the Code says. It does not say, "...orange TAPE or other effective means". It says "orange in color OR by other effective means". Therefore, the meaning and intent is: orange color, OR by another color that is effective. Yes, you've read the word ORANGE, but you must also take the other words in the article into consideration. Nice discussion, but you're incorrect in your determination. Merry Christmas.
Way we use mark it
Maybe he was color blind
Then he probably shouldn’t be an electrician.
Don’t forget to tell teacher she didn’t assign homework.
As always, very informative and super helpful
You bet! I got another one coming out that’ll be really helpful too. Tomorrow it will be live.
