Caught one of my biggest Browns
Trace and I were floating down one of the most popular sections of the Boise River. Was a slow day but within the last couple moments of the float I hooked onto something big.

Slip bobbering for Browns?! I would have never thought of that. Great idea though. We used to use that for walleye in North Dakota. Slip Bobber and a leech on Devils Lake. So much fun!
Yep! Same idea as with walleyes! Just landed a BIG brown on the Boise doing this a couple days ago.

It seems like your electric knife blade is pretty dull. They can be sharpened, or replaced for a few $. Most blades are interchangeable, and there are wider, narrower, more aggressive, and less aggressive options depending on the size of fish you are filleting.
It's an old knife for sure but I was trying to go slow on purpose for videos sake. With that knife on trout it's like cutting butter if I want to do so in a hurry. But yes, those blades could for sure be sharpened.

haha! Yep, breaking curses all the way! The lake has giant lake trout and Kokanee in south central Idaho. That should help :-)

What you say about being out in the stillness and quiet in the outdoors is so true. Being in Gods creation is so refreshing for me. One of the reasons I love surfing is because I loved being in the ocean. Not very much stillness and quiet there but there’s beauty in the ocean and just being in it. Wasn’t always about catching waves. It was always a way for me to reset. Fishing in the beauty of God’s creation does the same thing for me. I love the catch but I also love being out there.

Be sure to keep your hands out of the gill when holding trout you plan to release. They're not bass for goodness sake. Remember just because it swam off, doesn't mean the fish is fine. A lot of old timers with poor handling techniques use that line and it directly impacts the fishery for the future. Take some time learning how to handle trout properly please.
Thanks for your concern but on this trip we weren’t interested in them swimming off. Most of them ended up as dinner.

It seems like you're practically giving away this fishing spot with your recent videos. It's a shame; this river used to be a peaceful haven, but soon it'll be overrun with people. Never seen so many cars in that parking lot last week. Hope the views are worth it!
There’s no parking lot and it accessed through our private property.
@@OLDHATFISHING You can see where you launched from the road, and you can also float or walk to your property. Your videos have been very easy to trace.
@@evergreenlorelei if you know where this is then you know to walk there you would be trespassing unless you want to walk miles along the river. If so, then good luck!

Sorry man. Every fishing video on TH-cam is someone's local spot. We have property on this river and have lived/fished it for many years. We do our best to respect every local spot while at the same time provide an enjoyable video for those to watch. That being said, there is a block option if you'd like to not see any more of our content.

@@bucksnboils ever heard of Google Earth? Ever thought that maybe a million people drive by there every year, not knowing it's a great fishing spot, and now they know? I love the kind of content, I'm just saying we don't need the obvious drone shots of an entire valley and mountain range to burn a spot. Film without giving it away and you'll promote fishing and have no negative consequences.
