*0) DEMON KING:* Flamme stated that Serie couldn't defeat the Demon King because she couldn't "imagine" herself living in a peaceful world (Imagination is the primary factor to determine whether you can do something or not.) The Demon King is the only person in history besides Lernen to have detected Frieren's mana suppression. It took Frieren + Himmel + Eisen + Heiter to take down the Demon King. *1) SERIE:* Suppressed Serie has as much Mana as Full Output Frieren. She also has access to almost every spell in existence. *2) FRIEREN:* Frieren('s clone) in her suppressed state is stronger than Denken + Richter + Laufen + Methode combined. When she releases her full mana, she surpasses even Aura the Guillotine, a Sage of Destruction who had survived a fight against the Hero Party. Frieren also has a hidden trump card regarded as "the height of magic" that her clone used against Fern when cornered. While it's unknown how it works, Frieren said that she hadn't been pressed to use it since 80 years ago (likely alluding to the fight against the Demon King). This proves that there are several levels of suppression Frieren can undergo and that even when she uses her full mana output she isn't necessarily going all out, which puts into perspective how impressive her defeating Denken while suppressing her mana and only using ordinary magic is. *3) AURA THE GUILLOTINE:* Aura survived a fight against the Hero Party back in the day. Frieren also stated that she would have had a hard time against Aura's army if the latter hadn't been tricked into using her Scales of Obedience. Aura is a 500-year-old demon who has spent most of her life training, so no character below her should have enough mana to overpower her spell. *4) LERNEN:* Serie stated that Lernen could have defeated Frieren, and Frieren has repeatedly said that "Serie's intuition is never wrong". For those who think this statement holds no water, I should remind you that Lernen broke through Frieren's defensive magecraft and damaged her shoulder, causing an even greater wound than those sustained in her fight against her own clone. The actual debate is whether Serie was talking about Suppressed Frieren or the full-power variant. As explained above, Frieren has hidden trump cards beyond her mana suppression, and it's hard to say whether Frieren knows about them. Also, if manga feats were included, it certainly makes more sense for Lernen to be suppressed by Frieren tier than above the full-power one, who scales to Macht and Solitar. Lernen also has less mana than Aura, so he should lose that match-up as well. *5) SENSE:* Denken confirmed he couldn't defeat Sense's clone. Sense was also able to sense someone was disrupting Serie's barrier during the first test, which puts her skill above other 1st class mages like Genau. *6) DENKEN:* Denken can keep up, react to, and block attacks from Suppressed Frieren. The battle came down to a battle of attrition, which Frieren won. This proves that in terms of raw stats (excluding stamina), Denken does scale to Frieren's suppressed state. (This is consistent with his manga showings as well). Land and Übel also confirmed that Denken was the strongest mage taking the First Class Exam and that he was much stronger than Übel respectively. *7) WIRBEL:* In terms of raw stats/mana, Wirbel is weaker than 2nd Class Mages like Ehre. This is further shown when he struggles to keep up with Übel in a 1v1 fight. What actually sets him apart from the fodder is his great combat experience and special magic. He defeated Ehre's clone, and with his sealing spell, Übel. Even after copying Wirbel's own sealing spell, Übel still admitted that Wirbel was much more powerful than her. *8) ÜBEL:* Ubel has killed 2 First Class Mages. The first of them was Burg, someone who specialized in defense. The second one was Sense, although that was attributed to a bad matchup. Übel also has Wirbel's sealing spell. While not fast/powerful enough to defeat Sense's clone, Denken, Wirbel, or Ubel's own clone, it should provide a great advantage against anyone else below her. *9) QUAL:* Qual was able to analyze and copy defensive magic in mere seconds. While Zoltraak/Soul Track is greatly outdated, we know thanks to Frieren and Fern that it's still enough to defeat modern mages if used right. Qual also scales above the original Hero Party. Even ignoring Frieren, just scaling above Eisen + support from 3 above-average heroes should already be enough to raise some eyebrows. Eisen has very explicitly scaling in season 1 alone, like being stronger than Linie, who could match Stark. In the manga, Eisen also scales to Greater Demons and mage hunters like Walros/Rasen, so you could actually argue Qual is extremely lowballed here. Only time will tell. *10) FERN:* Fern defeated Lügner (stronger than Stark) and Ehere (2nd class mage with Wirbel level stats). Furthermore, she did this while suppressing her own Mana. To my understanding, we have never seen her go all out, which means she could be a few ranks higher on the list. She also has great potential surpassing even Lernen, who is Frieren tier. She could block Qual's attacks for a time, so depending on how much she was actually holding back or struggling, you could argue she could have beaten him 1v1 as well. *11) LÜGNER:* Lügner's mana, technique, and control are far greater than Suppressed Fern's. He ended up losing the fight due to getting overwhelmed by her Zoltraak spam and miscalculating how much mana she had. It should also be taken into account that modern-day Zoltraak has anti-demon properties. (More on this later) Lügner also scales above Stark. *12) STARK:* Stark defeated the Solar Dragon in less than 30 seconds. The Solar Dragon tanked Fern's surprise in his sleep, which puts into question whether Fern is actually stronger than Stark or not. We know Lugner is stronger than Stark, but we also know modern-day Zoltraak has anti-demon properties. Therefore, it could be argued Fern defeated Stark solely due to a good matchup. This is in part backed up by Linie's belief that she could defeat Fern after having just seen her blast Lugner. Lugner disagreed because Zoltraak had anti-demon properties that would have one shot Linie. However, considering all these comparisons are regarding a SUPPRESSED Fern, it makes more sense to say Fern is stronger at the end of the day. *13) LINIE:* Linie has Eisen's moves but they don't hit as hard. She believed she could defeat suppressed Fern in a 1v1 after sensing her mana and watching her blast a hole through Lügner. While this was a miscalculation on her part because Zoltraak deals more damage to demons, it puts into perspective that Fern isn't actually that strong in terms of stats. Ranks 10-1 3 are on the same tier. *14) SOLAR DRAGON:* The Solar Dragon tanked a surprise attack from Fern, and Frieren doubted whether she could beat it in an aerial battle. Frieren also said she could beat it if Stark kept it occupied for 30 seconds, which implies she needs to charge and set up her magecraft for an extended period uninterrupted to actually beat it. This line of reasoning is a little dubious though considering the much stronger Linie and Lugner would get matched or outright clapped by Fern in a 1v1 fight. It makes one wonder whether Fern is a bad matchup for the Dragon, or if she only defeated Lugner due to Zoltraak being anti demon. Either way, no character below the Solar Dragon has any feat remotely implying they could beat it or scale to characters higher on the list. *15) LAND:* Base Land would be below 2nd Class Mages, seeing he lost was getting overwhelmed by Scharf. However, with his clones, he can beat characters that strong. Having passed the First Class exam, he should scale above Richter and Ehre. *16) METHODE:* Methode stalled Fern's clone offscreen. On the other hand, Laufen dealt with Methode's clone 1v1 pretty easily. Getting matched by a 3rd class mage is a worse feat than Land defeating Scharf, a 2nd class mage. That's why I ranked Land higher. *17) EHRE:* Ehre has more mana than Wirbel. Wirbel also stated that Ehere could have beaten Fern if she hadn't fought her in a head-on fight. Ehre is logically the strongest 2nd class mage. *18) RICHTER:* Richter defeated Lawine + Kanne 2v1. However, considering these 2 tomboys are arguably the weakest 3rd class mages appearing in the First Class exam, that's not saying much. *19) CHAOS FLOWER:* The Chaos Flower was defeated by Frieren in a matter of seconds. *20) SEIN*

Qual waking up and immediately figuring out the flaws of Modern Defense Spell on the fly is still quite an amazing feat. On any other Franchise or series, people would more than likely to call him a fraud for being taking down that quickly but in Frieren, the Demon was respected by viewers and readers

Honestly my only disagreement is Ryu was too high, i don't think he's in top 10 at all, and Kenjaku and Yuta should be higher than Yorozu
