You really helped me with my gas problem. Thank you !! Now lets go fishing,!!
have same problem with my yamaha F225. is your engine fuel injected ?
How far did you take the undercarriage before primer? All the way to bare?
Yeah I took it all down and then primed it before I sprayed the raptor on it.
Some lock tite would be good
Thanks for the tip!
A boat is a hole in the water into which you pour money………….
@@tomwhite716 yup. But it helps me catch fish
Do you remember the difference in offset on the water pump and the surface of the damper, im trying to figure out the same thing on my olds 455 and i don't know what pulleys to use.
Man I’d go crazy with that floppy socket extension. Lol. About to do this tomorrow (barring mosquitoes!). Nice work 👍🏼
What rear end you running
It a narrowed Ford 9in from American power train. If I remember correctly it a 370 gear with posi
What type of transmission you running
You are a brave man taking that project on brother. I don't think I would have it in me to tackle that 1. I'm glad my bug is in a bit better shape but still needs considerable work. However time is against me as I'm 62 yrs old. Good luck my friend .
👍👍👍
Sweet
Sweet, excited to see it on the water!
Good video for reference
I picked up a '69 Bird with a hydraulic clutch to a Tremec T56 6 speed. The entire brake/clutch pedal assembly has side to side movement of about 1 inch. I am worried that it may be coming loose. Have you ever heard of an assembly having built-in play?
There shouldn't be much play in them. They should have a plastic bushing in them but see if you can find a schematic of the assembly and make sure all of the pieces are in the correct spots
@shaggyscarshop thank you. Yes, I'm going to crawl under it this weekend. It's a complete restomod, everything new but only 1k miles in 10 years and I've put 500 miles on it in 5 months so I think I need to start retourquing everything. Great video, thanks.
Hi. What is the name of the seat part that keeps the seat from coming off the track? My ‘74 is missing it?
Honestly I'm not too sure
Ich würde auf jeden Fall auch die Stoßstangen für die erste Fahrt dabeihaben, ohne unnötige Schäden riskieren zu müssen
Where did you get the bolt kit?
I think it was firebird central
how did you adapt and what clutch did you use?
When I had the crank at the machine shop, I had the machinist mill out the hole for a pilot bearing and balanced with the flywheel I ordered. It's a special flywheel from cad500parts.com. The flywheel fits 10 to 12 in gm clutches. I used the BOP to T56 bell housing and it fits up to an 11 in clutch. For the clutch, I forget what exact one I picked. One rated to hold 600 hp if my memory serves, but it's a push style to go with the T56 throw out bearing. Hope this answers your question.
You'll be on the water in no time.
For sure.
Diese verdammten Mäuse sind wie der Tod von tausend Scherenschnitten
Yes they are. Destructive little buggers
Hey, I am in the middle of this same job for my 70 Camaro. I too am using the stock pedals, hydraulic clutch bracket from Speedtech, GM hydraulic cylinder, Wilwood manual brake master cylinder and Wilwood proportional valve. After some hammer and dolly work on the firewall hole I got the GM hydraulic cylinder to fit ok, messaged the Speedtech bracket hole so the Wilwood cylinder would fit, I came across the next problem. The stock pedal bracket bolts that go through the firewall are not long enough for the clutch bracket, Wilwood master cylinder, Wilwood required spacer, Wilwood proportional valve bracket and finally the castle nut!! So I guess I will replace the GM firewall bolts with something about 1/2" longer. Hope you don't run into this one.
Thanks for the insight. My bird is in cold storage at the moment but once I get it back and get to that area, I will definitely keep it in mind
Wow I haven’t not seen a cassette tape since high school. You need to feed those mice something other than your boat.
Yeah I like the retro stuff once and awhile. As far as the mice.....they really need to leave stuff alone lol. Good thing I don't have any interior in my bird as of yet.
@@shaggyscarshop i absolutely loath when my interior gets shredded by mice. Did you get the bird hauled to the new shop?
@@VinylVillageGarage not yet. Work is keeping me busy. Hopefully this summer
Glad you are back!

I suppose you have a nice beard now huh?
Sagten Sie Ihre guten Kassetten? ... woher haben Sie noch Kassetten? Ich habe Ihnen gesagt, Sie sollen aufhören, Dinge zu horten.
Oh I have a few that I have collected over the years specifically for the boat😂
How did you do the location holes for the Firebird emblem and the badges.
I actually had the body shop locate where the emblems were supposed to be, so I'm sorry I don't have the measurements on that.
That’s all right. I think I can get close by using the inside of the old fender I have for a template.
That gas has varnished nicely. Could use it on your deck instead of Thompson's.
Lol. Yeah I wish youtube could send the smells around. That was so.e stinky gas.
Nice. Looking forward to seeing some videos from on the water, and fish. 👍
Thanks. Hopefully some soon and hopefully in a few months I'll have my bird back.
Ich bin überrascht, dass die Mäuse nicht jeden Draht zerkaut haben!
As I get into it further, I'm am finding more and more that they did chew😢
This is awesome. Catching your video for the first time. If this works then I imagine a t56 to a 500 caddy is possible.
It should work with a 500 as well, although it has been an expensive and often frustrating adventure lol
Welcome back ole buddy!
Thanks man
How about a 500 caddy to a tr6060?

Nice Glad to see you back
It's nice to be back working on some old stuff.
does the cadillac engine have the same basic bolt pattern as all small block transmissions? TH400,TH350, Powerglide?
No. It's the Buick, Pontiac, Oldsmobile pattern not the Chevy pattern
Can you make me some for a 1981 El Camino I’m trying to put my 472 in it
It's a tight fit w o custom headers
I hot rodded these engines for 30 years
It's not hard if you have basic skills Bloodviking master engine builder and cadillac man
Weld in the lower mounts with what you have in the pic. Once the engine is in the correct position. It will overhang on the chassis a cross member a bit.
We dud this in the mid 80s we welded in solid mounts all custom made Did them for 20 years all types of gm cad 500 swaps
What pulley did you use for the crankshaft
I dont remember off hand but i did a bunch of videos on the serpentine belt setup and i wanna say I mentioned what it was off in one of those. they should be around nov or dec of 22.
What state are you in?
Was in MS, now im in MT.
can u do one for front turn signals replacement???
can u do one replacing front signal lights??
I will eventually, we are just finishing up the process of moving across the country and currently I don't have my car with me. Soon I'll get it here and start making videos again
