Macau with Grandkids - The casinos - 2 July 2023
Casinos to me conjure up images of greed, stress and broken dreams as the addiction of gambling wreaks havoc with families. Casinos in Macau have grand facades, The Venetian, The Londoner, The Parisian. Walking through the amazing facades felt like we were walking through an adult's Disneyland, transported to another world, very fake, but very well done.

When family comes to see where you live, no trip is complete without a side trip across to Macau for a couple of days, especially when it is so easy on the bus. And you get to travel on the longest bridge in the world!

The Peak Tram Hong Kong with our grandkids - 27 June 2023
มุมมอง 201ปีที่แล้ว
First full day in Hong Kong for Brad and Katherine, Eva, Reuben and Blaise, so off to the Peak Tram and a walk around Luggard Road. Despite the heat, and blisters from the new sandals (it's winter in Australia where they've arrived from and as children who grow so quickly they needed new sandals).

Lamma Island Hong Kong 8 June 2023
มุมมอง 2.2Kปีที่แล้ว
Jeff had a day off work, so off we went exploring. There is so much to see and do in Hong Kong. Today we caught the ferry across to Lamma Island, a 30 minute ride from Central on Hong Kong Island. There was a lot of construction and it was really busy, so we didn't see it at it's best, but we'll go back and explore some more soon.
Taipei Taiwan - Day 2 - 2nd June 2023 Maokong Gondola
มุมมอง 21Kปีที่แล้ว
Our second full day in Taipei we caught the local train out towards the zoo. The gondola ride to Maokong was amazing and very cheap. We enjoyed walking around the mountain top before catching the gondola back down. We finished off an amazing day with more night market foods.

Building differences between Hong Kong and Australia - bamboo scaffolding
มุมมอง 249ปีที่แล้ว
A group of seven high rise buildings called "The Greens" are being updated. We are fascinated by the scaffolding they use. Bamboo as opposed to the steel used in Australia. The renovations of replacing the exterior tiles, upgrade of air conditioners and painting of interior was supposed to take 3 months. So far (apparently) it has been 6 months. It is debilitatingly hot and humid in June and cu...

Tai O with Robyn and Matt 30 May 2023

Our dear friends Robyn and Matt spent a couple of days with us on their way to somewhere else. We had a lovely couple of days showing them the sights. We caught the bus to Tung Chung and the ferry from there around to Tai O. Tai O is such a different type of village to anything in Australia. After brunch, a walk around the village houses suspended over the water and a short boat ride through th...

This was our third trip to Macau together and we were ready to do some more exploring. Day 1 we spent relaxing and recovering near our hotel on Macau Island but day 2 we were ready to start exploring again. We caught the bus to Coloane Village on Taipa Island (Macau has two islands that make up Macau, Taipa Island and Macau Island). After enjoying the delightful village of Coloane, we walked al...

Oh this makes me so excited to visit!
Thanks for your introduction on Taiwan However, Chiang Kai-shek he is not the founder of the country😂 Just a general and dictator by the time. Somebody likes him for defending country, some others blame him as a dictator who controlled the people in restrictive way like an king.
Hi Wendy! Thank you for sharing your family walk.
Have a good trip~
How big of this adventure for moving to a new place at this age! 👍🏻Wish you have a good days in Hong Kong!

You guys are amazing. Don’t you worry about getting lost in the mountains? Especially sometimes the weather just turns bad. Please take good care of yourselves. And be safe. In summer there are some Surprising ( bad) creatures in the mountains. Take care. By the way, Will you go to the breath-taking Taroko Gorge/national park?
Yes, it's next on our list for the next time we come to Taiwan.

Miss the Lamma Island, I was visiting my junior high classmate there decades ago.
welcome to taiwan🥰
Thank you! 😃
Great video Wendy. I'm assuming you are filming with a gopro or similar camera. May I make a suggestion? You should take it off wide angle so that the video appears more like viewing from a natural eye and you won't get that distortion. Just a suggestion. Hope you enjoyed your trip.
Thanks for the tip!
This is the first I have heard of this. Which would you suggest I film in. The options I have are: Standard HyperView, Full Frame Wide, Activity Superview, Cinematic Linear?
@@JeffandWendysAdventure I would go linear. That's the most natural looking setting. The others are wide angled and generally used more for action type of filming. Enjoy your travels!
@@gourmetsportsman thanks so much for your help. I’ve changed it to linear and we’ll see how we go!
