Yeah, the weather is not good for a filming session. Always rain and much fog with frosty nights. 🌧🌫❄ Thats typical for this time, but it should get better latest in january. The concrete needs much time for hardening out at these deep temps. And frost is very bad, because it can destroy the fresh concrete walls and fundaments for the railtracks within one night. Luckily I could finish now the fundament for the new forestry and the power supply along the railroad. ⚡ And the Lego workers have ordered very heavy machineries for the next major project: the coal mine. 😎

Thank you very much! 🤗 You´re right, but I am a bad painter. 😆 Such a detailed drawing is not easy and probably not very weather proof. 😶‍🌫 But if everything holds well with the concrete walls (they are still experimental), I could maybe cover the walls with real Lego bricks for a better look. But than they have to be glued or also cemented. 🥴

Hi! Thats a complete mix of different sets: the toilet is from set 60409, the green cable drums and the octane tank from set 60052, the red gas bottles from 7898, the crane waggon from 60198 and the repair truck is set 3179. 👍

Hi! Thank you so much for your nice comment! 😎 When I was 13 I had also 2 trains, set 7740 and 7745. I bought all my other trains much much later, when I had the idea of the Lego garden railway. The train 60198 is already not bad. 👍 I have also this train, but I still need to pimp it up with lights, which is not that easy, due of the strange front designs. 🥴 For the onboard drives I am using a with lights self modified mini camera, which I mount in front of the operating trains. 🎥🚂🚃🚃

😄😁 I just looked: here in Germany are some 7898 sets available (second hand) for around 150-160 euros. Luckily we have a big market for Lego. 👌 Even rare sets are often available.

Thanks! ☺ The components like the RC electronics should be available on second hand markets like ebay or so. I buy all my Lego second hand, that saves also a lot money if you watch for bargains. 👍 A good solution is buying a whole set, for example set 60051 or 7938. Than you can switch the electronics between the two trains.

You would need also the newer train wheels for the 7740. Thats why a set purchase could be better. There are also some railtracks incl., if its complete. 👍 Here in Germany the electronics only would cost (used) around 50 euros, but a complete set like 60051 can be bought for already 80 euros (incl. rails) 🚆 Thats a thought worth.... ❤

Thats also standard Lego lights, but I fitted them with red clear 1x1 plates inside, to get red light. 👍

PLAYING TIME WITH LEGO

Сход с рельсов случается только тогда, когда вы слишком быстро въезжаете в поворот. Но с помощью радиоуправляемого управления я могу контролировать скорость. В поворотах я обычно езжу с третьим уровнем, что не слишком быстро. С маленькой камерой на борту он выглядит намного быстрее визуально только на видео. 🚅

@ Nice! A tunnel like that would probably also be best as a bypass route like if it went under the main hill of the layout and connected the two opposite sides of the main layout loop! That could also make it possible for the layout to operate as two separate loops when desired! :)

That is genius! 🤗 I will try to do that if the terrain allows me to build this. But I think its possible. I considered a while ago a larger bypass route already around the complete lower lawn section, thats an extra of approx. 100 meters as a giant loop. 😎

@ Nice! The biggest challenge would be to build it under the rest of the existing track but it could be possible if small sections of the existing track were removed and then put back after the tunnel trench is filled in! :)

Yes, but until I can start with that project I have to finish the main layout. The secondary tracks can be started to be constructed earliest on spring/summer 2026. 🚧 Its also planned to build the tracks a bit more comfortable with more space around some loops and walls. And all the tunnels have to be constructed completely new, so that 8 studs wide trains have also the possibility to run on the tracks. 🚂🚃🚃

The smaller things like cars and minifigs are stored inside again after the filming session. But the stations and terminals are outside the whole time and covered with a protection. That works very fine (to my own surprise) and saves much time. 😎

Good question! 🤗 I think also from the cargo trains its the set 7898, because of a good battery capacity and it can be easily fitted with (better) lights. Its also a good train engine for the terrains outside, thats why I use two of them. And very useful waggons are in the set included. 👍 From the passenger trains its I think set 60051. 🚆

Thank you so much! 🤗 Oh yes, I will try to make a snow video! ☃I hope we get some snow here, the last winters we had just a little bit. So cross the fingers! ☺ Mowing the lawn is no problem. There are two possibilities to prevent much effort with the lawn mower, if you construct the railroad as follows: a bit deeper than the lawn itself, so that you can carefully mow over the tracks without damaging them (my favorite), or constructing the tracks 5-10 cm higher than the lawn and you use it as a lawn edging, were you can go along easily with the mower. 👍

Oh Yes! 🤗 Every 2-3 weeks I post a new update of the garden railway. It is still under construction and it takes approx. another 1-2 years until everything is completed. 🛤
