Benefits of AC wave balance for Aluminium tig welding
Well done! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for this video, just got the fx30 and this was a big help
Nice work mate, well done!!
Those are some beautiful welds. Keep it up!
52 years ago I was an apprentice here in Melbourne at Mauri brothers and Thompson i was 17. The new to Australia Maltese tradesmen and I were pretty much doing the same job as you guys. I had very long welding gloves on I let one of the gloves slide under the top roller on top the workpiece , with my hand sliding out the gloves still well in Safety . I screamed and pretend to pull back hard 😁the poor man fainted. fainted where he was standing and couldn't move I had to go and get other people to Rouse him but he was still standing , luckily the fainting without falling down was the talk of the workshop not my very clever act.
thanks
Shouldn't this have a Bend Allowance?
How do you figure out the ring that you cut before rolling it.
Download an App on your cellphone. Flat pattern for cones. Type in the parameters , ie. large diameter, small diameter and height. Gives you all the details.
Halftime
01:30 I saw Turkish product machine "Akyapak"
Howdy! How do you roll cylinders with punches/dies? I guess you can´t just put a sheet metal wit pre-existing dies into the rolling machine and I can´t imagine putting in dies afterwards either. Also: Can you weld along the edge to create a waterproof vessel? Greetings from Germany
Thank you
Love your work guys, kudos to your instructor also, and as students you're doing fantastic work as teachers
Thank you
Thank you very informative! 🙏🏿
Tremendous little machine! I have an old Pexto 36” in my shop (manual) and I love it. So many possibilities. Can you share the geometry method you use on cone rolling? Thank you for posting!
Motor-driven is better
Thanks for the idea for a snubber. I am in usa and have never heard it called a snubber although I have never heard it called anything for that matter. I may try to make one. Is it held in by just that bar in front? Also why so many passes, is the roller just weak? Normally I would roll that in between 2 to maybe 4 or 5 passes. We normally start out getting it pretty close to done in the first time around then just fine tune it maybe a few more times through the roller. Cool video though. Thanks.
Snubber heald in by front bar and the rolling process pushes the snubber into the rolls. You are corect dont need to rotate so many times.
Very helpful 🙏🏼😁 Thank you heaps 😁
This technique really works. Thank you so much.
Good on yah TAFE. THANKS GUYS from Sydney
Inside sizes is how I workout cut and fold sizes. If it's thicker do a test bend and work out what your bend has taken. (Using the correct tooling) Don't listen to the wet blankets in the comments "I used to work for NASA doing sheet metal, we worked it out by timing frying an egg on a Tuesday and multiplying it blue... We then subtracted it by Jack Daniels on Friday and finally divided it by chocolate"
Great video!! Thank you!!
James why are you not at my house? the things that I would do to you and have you do to me if you where here are probably too much to mention on here
Pre setting edges
Im sure there is no pun intended
Good job
How can I know the last thickness of the hanger plate on the machine. Thank you cordially
Students with a bright future. Instructor allowing them to take initiative and lead the demo. Nice to see 👍🏼
Really! No bend radius? Thats cool i’ll try it
As a first year I look forward to making mine at the end already doing heaps of welding in my first year but nah looks so good man well done 💪

Nice and flat it lays! learned a lot! we need to make giant coolie shades. thank you. (sounds like there may be a helium leak in the plant?)
Are you alternating raising each side of the roller or are you raiding the rollers evenly?
This set of rolls, raises evenly via 1 handle
Always raise the evenly.
If you're in the United States and watching a welding/fab video, it is automatically 20% more informative if the people in it have Australian accents.
Awesome job! Thanks for teaching the technique...
Can you run the machine in reverse?
Yes can rotate in either direction
@@midlandfabrication530 try it :D
By dobble option electrical switch it will move forword and reverse..I did it many time
Thanks for the video! A lot of griping about K-factor. This is one of the most simple explanations I've seen, though others claim it is incomplete/incorrect, but I'm wondering if it's adequate for certain jobs: I've started the process of learning to fabricate chassis pans for my vacuum tube guitar amplifiers. All the uber technical stuff is hindering my progress, and I'm wondering if this process will be "close enough". It won't matter if my chassis has flats that are a few hundredths over, as long as they are all the same. Can someone more experienced with metal work comment on this?
Depends entirely on what radius punch and vee you are using but if you work off the general rule of bend radius= 1 x material thickness and vee = 8 x material thickness, your bend allowance often equates to zero. So, if you are bending 5mm plate, use a radius 5mm punch with a 40mm vee, your bend allowance will be zero. Now if you are using a smaller radius, your bend allowance will increase, and if you are using a larger radius it will decrease proportionally.
I'm working All round waldar
👏👏🙌🍀🐉
Never seen any one move the snubber more than once
Roatating ends to avoid any flat spots, also avoiding any pre set with this method
So what would be the stretch out of the metal to be bent?
This is a Manual calculation to be used on machines pre CNC
Very good video
This video is awesome! ! would love to see more!
Thank you.
GREAT solution. Thanks for sharing!
what would be nice is calculation to find known force to bend it with varying tools/ press types for given thickness and length
how to calculate the flat width of sheet metal needed to manufacture Z purline 200 * 75 * 70 * 20 * 20 * 2.5 mm ???
Yes he's correct 99.9 percent
Well done mate, great job.
