A Ugandan grandmother kidnapped her one and half month’s grandchild to her lover because she had deceived him that she carrying her pregnancy. The said grandmother took the child in Kampala, the Uganda’s Capital City where her lover was staying.

Over the past couples of years, there has been a spike in cancer patients from Kasese district. Community members have also complained of stomach aches and ulcers. This documentary shows if there is any coloration between the metals and cancer that is silently claiming the lives of many people in my community.
Floods in Kasese district

Kasese District has since 2013 witnessed disasters including floods, storm winds, landslides and droughts causing great loss of property built at a great cost and loss of human lives. The latest incident occurred in July 2020 and displaced many people who are currently living in an internally displaced transit camp along Kasese-Mbarara Highway in Muhokya Town Council.

The Kasese District Senior Probation Social and Welfare Officer, Zainabu Asiimwe says defilement cases and other immoral acts were increasingly high during covid-19 pandemic. During, the 2021 January Presidential elections in uganda, the Electioral Commission which is mandated by the constitution to organize and carryout elections procured biometric machines but at some polling stations, the electoral offices decided to use manual registers after the machines failed to operate.

    But i think ,the mines mgt in collaboration with the govt shd be able to compensate kasese people and or especially the kilembe people around nyamwamba. In fact they shd be a special fund to take care of cancer patients from kasese. The mine could be a blessing but again it has become very dangerous over times.

    We're indeed in danger. How i wish and pray the leaders to be strict on supervision of the mines. And they should be environmental audit. We want our great grand children to be safe. We will be late gone.

    This is a good documentary. But the question for the DHO about what could be the causes of cancer in Areas of Bwera, Kisinga goes un answered. We also need to know, if we are having these contaminations, what have the doctors recommended. Otherwise us the Kilembe born are not fine with this.

    I use to live across these mines, it’s surreal landscape still mesmerises me to this day, I hope this will be my home again some day! 👌
