That was a fun video to watch, that area has been on fire glad you were able to pin and land a few 💜🎣
Thanks mate 👍
Great Vlog as usual mate 👌👊 did you guys fish with locked drags? Didn’t hear a single drag scream .
Thanks mate, yeah locked drag, way too much timber down there to give them any.
awesome as always
Thanks mate
Just as magnificent as usual. Given that you are now venturing into Gippy Lakes proper, you may investigate a feed of King George Whiting - or even Kingfish which have recently been seen more and more in the system. That said, I will never get tired of seeing those wonderful Estuary Perch, Bream and Flathead. 🙂
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it. I will have to take a look 🙂
Putting on a clinic boys.. That's some wicked fishing. Nice of you to help pistol out and put him on the fish 😅
Thanks mate, pistol always catches plenty 😄
@@fishonn1652 yeah I know but doesn't mean I can't stir him up.. he's definitely got some skills but don't tell him ey
@@mattnzep350 🤣 he does get the shits when it's not going to plan
Looks like an awesome session mate 👌🏽
It was awesome, this was only the first 2 hours
@fishonn1652 oh wow haha I would be happy with that as a day trip
🤣 I think it ended up being a 40 fish session by 1pm. Good times 😁
Its been too long mate since the last upload, you going to regular upload, Pistol making a mare of things is he? 😂
Hi mate, yeah hopefully get a few more vids up soon bud. Pistol is a legend 😁
That’s awesome fishing ! Great video , what weedless jig heads were you using on the clone prawns ? Also were they the 62mm clone prawns or 92mm ?
Thanks Jack, we used 1/0 gamakatsu g-lock worm hooks. 62mm Clone prawns. The weight varies with depth and current from 1/24th to 1/12th. We add our own weight.
Thanks for sharing that ! How do you add weight to your worm hooks ?
Melting down ball sinkers, adding the weight required.
So many great tips in one video. I’m new to this type of fishing and hopefully this will help me catch something one day! Thank you.
Thanks mate, glad it helped you out 👍
Good video. I find it no good for trying to tie a 4lb leader onto 6lb mainline
Thanks mate, takes a bit of practice but it can be done on light lines. I tie 3lb to 6lb with it.
Which Millerod are using to cast the 1/28 and clone prawn with ? 2:15
The Millerods grub freak
Best video I’ve seen on how to use it. Thanks heaps. 👍
Thanks Brett 👍
Another great video, Thanks for posting.
Thanks mate 👍
Good stuff, well done on surface. Just a quick question please. With the surface lure what is leader size and do you believe there is much difference between mono and fluro leaders? 16:10
Hi Geoff, in this video I was using 4lb fluorocarbon. I guess it depends if you want to twitch the lures down slightly. Mono floats and fluro sinks. I like to use fluro with bents because if the are finicky you can twitch them under the surface a little which entices the bite.
Thank you, much appreciated! I’m always a little sceptical about the preference for fluro ( although I always use it “ just incase”)
I am never sure if it’s purely a marketing device by manufactures to sell fluro at 3 times the price. I still buy it, but! I usually use minimum of 6lb because of the many flathead caught. And I have trouble attaching 4lb to braid with an FG knot as it breaks to easily but have found a triple surgeons knot works well. Thanks again take care! I’d be interested in your comment on the simple marketing fluro.
@@geoffreyjoy7364 Yeah I'm not sure on the fluro bud. I think if it gives you confidence that's a key thing as an angler. Also try the slim beauty knot, simple and I have never had issues when using light line leaders.
@@fishonn1652 I have so much stuff I’ll never use ! What’s a bit extra for fluro. Take care thanks again, I’ll try slim beauty! Triple surgeons is from 50 plus years of fly fishin! Go well!
Sorry about your finger 😢
🤣 thanks mate, spikey little buggers
nicely done , how long do you think Coota takes to settle aftrer a big rain event
if it stays dry I would give it 2 weeks before I fish it again. Thanks mate
Nice mate, got to love those clone prawns 👌🏽
Best soft plastics going around bud 👌
Well all this rains gonna stuff things up
Absolutely mate, I will head up to North Vic to chase cod for a while I think.
Best idea is reddies in West Vic and Kingies in Western Port

Thanks Steve, the Millerods are Grub Freak for the open areas and XFLC for the snags.

Great fishing Dan, what colour DC 48 do you generally like ?
Cheers Jack, Chrome belly or laser Ayu mate
Bro what number jig head and weight to pair
Sorry bud, I thought I replied already. Weight will depend on flow and depth. I use either a 1 or 2 hook size with the 2.5" plastics.
Fantastic “how to” video

Gotta swap the trebles on the 60mm they’re shithouse. The bigger ones all use owner trebles and are better. 👌🎣
