It definitely carried me through the early game, and was super useful in other situations. It's underrated for sure. If I recall correctly, it's how I beat Markoth, too!

I had kinda started guessing it a bit earlier, but alas, I didn't fully understand it 'til this moment. I guess I just thought the game had to be named after my character! I rely on Vaati (and now mossbag!) for all my lore explanations haha!

Yeah, it took me a good bit to start getting used to how the wall jump rhythm worked. I panicked way too much during my first several attempts on this fight (and the sequel...)!

Honestly I think I was mostly relieved after beating up Hollow Knight so quickly-really didn't want that to be all there was, so I was glad to see a second phase!

Dang, really? I think I gave that a couple tries and couldn't quite get it, so I just pogoed off the bees that the Husk Hive there spawned until I got it! Used that same strategy in another playthrough later, too. I'll have to look up someone crystal dashing successfully and give that one a shot, again!

Thanks so much! Yeah, watching it back too I really enjoyed seeing myself slowly get better at a boss. I've never recorded my playthroughs of games before and I'm a big soulsborne player, so this was a really fun experience! I'm glad you had a good time watching it, too! I've tried pogoing him since then when I've picked up Hollow Knight now and then, and I can just never get it perfectly-it's a great risk/reward, though, if you can nail it (pun intended). I usually just get hit with contact damage by his shoulder, though. Some more practice and I could probably do it! Haha, I learned the truth the hard way :') Markoth was still more of a run-killer, but NKG being in the boss rush was just... insane.

Haha same here, watching it back! Took me SO long to put in the work to nab that healing spot. I was too focused (pun not intended, but I'll take it) on saving that soul for screaming!

OR, what also could work, which I just call the „afk 'nd lfg“ (let’s f-ing go), which consist from all life blood charms and the hive charm for the hp Regen.

Grub Song especially was handy for me in this one given how much damage I tended to take here! And Hiveblood was a god send; I didn't have the others, though; Heart especially would have sped me up at least a bit.

I got pretty solid at dodging him after a couple hours of hard work in the next episode! And I did end up going for the Howling Wraiths strategy against him (really wishing I'd found that Abyss Shriek upgrade before fighting him, but live and learn). What has always killed me, even today, is the fireball rain. I have never figured out the perfect way to dodge that one. I think part of that is that I just don't have perfect reaction timing though, but it is pretty dang brutal.

I have seen some pretty crazy Shape of Unn plays since I beat the game and started looking things up! Haven't really tried any myself, though.

I have absolutely loved it-definitely the peak of the Metroidvania genre, imo. Wow, always $15!? That's insane. EASILY a $30 game, bare minimum. Especially with so much content. Team Cherry is crazy generous. If Silksong isn't a full priced $60 game when it drops in a couple decades I'm going to be stunned. Thank ya! I have not done it again since haha-aerial combat is not my strength.

Haha thank ya! She earned it, being the true final boss and all. Yeah, on my follow-up playthroughs, I've picked up on that pretty quickly-I don't think I used Grimmchild or Dreamshield at all when I did Steel Soul! And I definitely didn't use Thorns! (☞ ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)☞
