Garactacle Chronicle
Hi, my name is Suguru - or Sug for short - a.k.a. Garactacle. This is my brand-new channel, and maybe some of you got here from my Instagram account where I mostly talk about wrist watches. You can catch me there: garactacle
Here on this channel, I'm creating relaxing, laid-back moto-camping videos. I'd like to share the love of motorcycling and camping in an accessible and welcoming way. Motorcycling, touring and camping on two-wheels don't have to be scary or only for those living in remote locations with big ADV bikes, SUVs and trailers. I'm hoping to share my journey, methods and tools I use to encourage some of you to get on a motorcycle and go out, but I'd like these videos to be just a relaxing and soothing visual entertainment even if you aren't into motorcycles or minimalist camping at all.
This is a brand-new channel, and if you like what you see, please consider giving a like, commenting on the videos and subscribing. That really helps a lot.

Thank you for your video 🎉
Very good
Reine Werbeveranstaltung.
It's a great video. The kind of trip I want. What is your frame size? And is the rear rack a bontrager?
Thank you! The frame size is 52cm on the Checkpoint. I could technically pull off smaller 49cm if I swap out some parts, but the 52cm frame let me put more stuff in the main triangle. I'm happy with my frame size choice. And yes, the rear rack is the skinner and lighter version of Bontrager rack. I put together a gear list here: www.suguru.net/gearlist
Love the sounds 🔥
Thank you so much! More episodes coming soon.
Amazing , u should have more views
Thank you! Those who watch and subscribe give me really great and positive feedback. I hope I can reach more viewers for sure.
Did you use microphone,?
Not sure if it was for the while video, but I believe I used Sennheiser MKE400 where I could.
Did you record all with tripod?
Other than a few b-roll shots where you see the footage panning, yes, the camera was on a tripod.
i thought you were about to cut off your thumb XD great video, nice bike.. i have a Tenere 700.. really want to do content like this.. just need a camera...
LOL! I hear a lot of great things about the Tenere 700. I really think the camera can be really anything. Just go for it!
can't wait to see the results
It will take a while as I got go through a 72+ frames, but really can’t wait to see the result. Just hoping the age hasn’t destroyed it. If it turns out OK, I have one more roll that I’m planning to put in the MP. Fingers crossed.
Finally a hipster that is actually cool with the same bike I own 😁 Man I love those Redwood Trees. Greets from Germany
The Svartpilen 701 is a real hidden gem of a motorcycle, robbed from us way too quickly with only 2 model years. I'm going to hold on to mine as long as I can.
@@garactacle Exactly. I will never sell mine assuming it will be worth something under good condition in 20 Years
I have one of those.
How do you like it? Mine is loaded and carried everyday.
What did you set your Garmin inReach to when you clipped it onto the tent?
That’s me getting the local weather forecast. I get that when I arrive at a campsite to be aware of possible rain, freezing temp at night etc.
Hey can you add the candle lantern to your gear list? Thanks!
It’s the 3rd item down in camping/shelter and accessories. Will be revamping the list to include image and description soon.
What a relaxing moto-touring video. Like watching your camping/cooking routine. Very Mise en place. So, so organized.
Really glad to hear you liked it. Don’t know if I qualify as an organized person but I guess you need some level of organization when you have a tiny space to work with.
that body is quality
The Pentax 17 is actually very well put together, probably more than some short-term reviewers realized. It’s a joy to use.
Garactacle Chronicle, amazing video
Thank you!
Nice one, very chilled. Like your style 🤙
Thank you so much for watching and I’m glad you liked the style. More to come for sure and I’ll try to refine the style while keeping it still lowkey and relaxing.
I miss your videos so much, finally got one😁
Thank you so much for waiting so long and I’m glad you are still here. Definitely more to come so please stay tuned.
Another lovely camping video. Love the tool watch and camera, and just the simple act of making dinner out in the wilds is very relaxing to watch.
Thank you so much, and I'm glad you are resonating with the theme. Definitely more to come.
Been waiting for this one. Great video. Especially love the ethereal shot of the lone tree @26:00.
Thank you for waiting, and I am really glad you like that shot. I'm hoping to incorporate the photography aspect more into the future videos.
Boots look like White's Cruisers? Also, what brand are those jeans?
They are made by Wesco. I can't find the exact model but here is the website: builder.wescoboots.com/ (also added to the Gear List page: www.suguru.net/gearlist)
Thank you for another engaging and peaceful ep and for your Gear List, which many of us will be pillaging.
Thank you so much for watching. The list is not fully complete but I'll keep at it.
Good camping video after so many months, missing the bezel watch this time, but nostalgia with the retro camera you used there for some cool clicks.
It’s been too long. Thank you for coming back for the new video. Definitely more to come. I really enjoyed incorporating film photography aspect into the episode. Hoping I’ll be doing more of this.
wow great video. could you share which lit did you use?
Thank you! I'm assuming you were asking about LUT? It was something I improvised. :)
The Japanese seem to have a cool way of doing TH-cam videos, especially moto camping. Love all the gear too.
I gotta watch some REAL Japanese moto camping videos. :) Not sure if I'm authentic Japanese enough at this point... If you have recommendations, I'd (and I'm sure others) love to know!
@@garactacle To be honest, no I cannot reccommend any particular Japanese moto vlogger, simply because there is usually no speech and/or in Japanese! They just seem to have a nack of filming/editing and using beautiful and innovative gear. Some of them also cook up lovely looking Japanese food. You just have to search and see what comes up. I like Harley's so I search for that along with Japanese/moto camping.
Can’t wait for the next one! 😉
Thank you so much, and sorry for the looooong wait! New episode dropping in less than 2 hours.
This has a timeless quality to it. Subscribed right away. Lovely.
Thank you so much! Truly means a lot. Sorry for the long wait, but finally a new episode is dropping today, and more coming soon.
@@garactacle can’t wait to check it out ❤️👍🏻
Wow...Triumph Bonnevile goes to Nature...Like it a lot bro...👍....salam dari Indonesia 🙏
Thank you so much! The Triumph is a capable camper for sure.
Need a part 2! Well done.
Thank you and sorry for the long wait! Finally a new episode is dropping in 1.5 hours. I promise more coming soon.
Nice video. Can you tell us which model are your hand guards? Maybe a link where to buy them? thx
Thank you! Super late reply but hope someone find it useful: the hand guard I'm using is Barkbuster Storm model. These can be mounted single point either onto the handlebars or the bar-ends. It's not for adventure riding protection as much as 2-point design, but they sure protect your hands from cold winds. Of course if your bike can take 2-point attachment, you can mount that way, too.
I truly appreciate your style, brother
Thank you so much! I am out of hiatus and a new episode is dropping today.
May I have the name of microphone used in this video?
Sorry of very late reply, but the microphone used (may not be for all shots) Sennheiser MKE 400. I'll be putting this in the Gear List that I just published.
Where can i find the holders?
The Svart/Vit 701 was short-lived so it might be a bit hard to find them now. You might wanna talk to your nearby Husky dealer and see if they can locate one. Unit Garage makes their own version of pannier system that works on this bike as well although I haven’t tried one myself.
HI, me gustan mucho sus videos
Thank you so much!
very nice
Thank you so much! New video dropping today.
I love your channel. Very stylish and precise. Top notch movie making nothing extra
Thank you so much, and I'm glad you liked the style that I'm going for. New episode dropping toady and definitely more coming.
Great video that’s just turned up on my feed. Very stylish. Which coffee solution do you prefer ?I have an aeropress also but thinking of simplifying by using filter system. Cheers Mike
Thank you so much. I'm finally coming out of hiatus and new video is dropping today. I'm a fan of aeropress and love their portable kit, but really can't beat the size of Soto dripper that I use in many of my videos. You can see that in action in today's video.
Hi, very nice video👌. Can you tell me what camera do you use for this nice shots? Thank you
For this one, it’s a a combination of Leica SL2-S with Summicron 35mm, iPhone 15 Pro Max and Insta360 One RS. See my reply to earlier comment for more details.
@@garactacle thank you👍
Thank you! Although I love moto-camping, I’m also finding bikepacking/camping to be really unique, challenging and yet relaxing. Definitely looking forward to doing both.
Really enjoyed this one. Team bicycles here -- the motorcycle videos are great but your Trek is supa choice so it deserves to be featured more!
Super happy to hear and thank you very much for your feedback. I’ve been contemplating about moto vs bicycle contents. While I love both, not everyone can ride motorcycle - and bicycle is more accessible to broader range of people and maybe thus more relatable. I’m definitely planning to create videos featuring both mc and bicycle camping moving forward.
What did you film this on? Great quality!
Thank you for watching the episode. This video was a mix of Leica SL2-S with 35mm Summicron (main), iPhone 15 Pro Max (wide angle shots) and Insta360 One RS for on-bike footage.
Your solo camp with solely the 15 Pro Max was awesome! Did you use any extras on the phone? (ND filter, lenses, etc)
My iPhone setup is with neewer.com/products/neewer-pa023-metal-cage-video-rig-iphone-15-pro-66603710 and filters as needed. The cage would make the phone a bit bulky, but you can use tripod, filters straps, even external mic and such.
@@garactacle Thank you so much!
I'm over from TGN to say I really enjoy your videos. The style, music, and overall presentation is just what I'm looking for. I have been in a slump for the last year with cycling and this is the type of change-up I might need. I think I might start with stopping for an "adventure coffee" during my rides. Thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you so much! Great to see a fellow TGN supporter crew here. Really happy to hear you are resonating with this style of videos and that's giving you the little "push" you needed. Yeah, Adventure Coffee is really fun and quite bit easier to start with. Get a small folding chair, coffee kit, maybe a table and go! If you really liked doing that, then you got some nice starter kit to expand to a full on backpacking setup later.
You literally have the best camping kit - love the wristwatch too.
Thank you! My camping kit/setup is originating from my moto-camping needs (with not very touring/adv centric bikes) so they are pretty compact and minimalistic though not the most ultralight. Looking forward to see where it goes for bikepacking as I do more of that this year. If you are into watches, check out my IG instagram.com/garactacle/ for more watch centric contents!
Motocamp is better😁
I definitely love moto-camping, but I also felt the satisfaction and a bit of serenity with bikepacking. Moto-camping isn’t going anywhere and I’ll keep things pretty laid back here, but I think I’ll be doing another bikepacking soon.
