土豆和西红柿我是长大才知道是什么，从小也是番茄马铃薯，用方言的时候也一样。

用簡體字也無妨，但不要把古籍的字型也都簡化了。 雖說用簡識繁，用繁識簡，或許可行，但是實際上還是會增加頭腦轉換的負擔。 所以一般人還是會想辦法，讓電腦幫忙作字型轉換成 自己習慣的字型。 雖然因為一對多的問題，沒那麼完美就是了。

I'm laughing because I went through ALL OF THAT you described especially what you said in the beginning of your video. 我想说的是，你可以对比两岸新闻主播的发音，这是比较有代表性的。其次不像英式和美式英语某件东西的称呼存在许多不同，至少内地来讲，你说土豆和马铃薯，番茄或西红柿，我们都也能理解，有时候两种都用，看个人，因此词语的称呼区别并不大。我印象最深是包括的括，内地人念“kuo”，台湾同胞念“gua”。

Really interesting video. I'm sure you're aware as a CELTA student, a huge part of the process is ensuring that your ESL students are following you in the lesson, understanding all instructions and keeping up with the rest of the class. If a student is falling behind it's the tutors job to identify this and help the student. What's strange is that your CELTA instructors failed in this regard, and you passing was a result of you having to find a way to navigate the difficult experience you were undergoing. You passed, despite them. Well done you :)

Come on guys...you want hard. Get a master's degree in social work. Your going to school full time; high level of research and academic rigor; 2-3 day internship; plus 99% of the students work full time to survive. Anyone who can't sacrifice for one month might as well stay home. NOTHING IN LIFE WORTH HAVING COMES EASY!

My course is starting in mid October. I really want to have a take on things before it all begins, and even though I've been a teacher I really think it's going to be challenging. Thanks for the video.

The CELTA and rival Trinity CertTESOL are embedded in applied linguistics. When unfamiliar with linguistics, it is hard. I think the course are money making rackets. f it's a career you're after, go for an MA in applied linguistics and skip the CELTA.

外國人被騙了～簡體字根本就不是中國文化，那只是共產黨的摧殘出來的文字，厄殺美麗中華的文化，繁體字的美是五千年所延伸來的。

中國大陸的共產政體是用來書寫尚可，但用來取代正體字/能夠維持長久還是一大問題，它用政治的力量強行推行的簡化字用來書寫尚可，但用來取代正體字/繁體字（對傳統漢字的蔑稱）不會長久的！在做為一個中國人來講無法不學習正體字的情形下（若不懂的話五十年以上的書籍資料就都看不懂了，如何研究學問呢？）所以簡化字是無法完全取代正體字/繁體字的，這方面專家學者已經有很多論述了，是無用至疑的。

繁体字被大陆淘汰了，还在用的都是小众地区，比如香港台湾。

繁體字就是正體字..是中國歷朝歷代政府官方正式文書用字..正體字是中國數千年自然演化(以"六書"原則構字..簡體字則無)而成..是重要的傳統文化的根基..簡(草)體字使人民在閱讀古典文物時..翻查辭典增加了很大的困難(對學習中國文化的外國人..更是難上加難)..另外..中共建政後為什麼推行簡體字?因為方便書寫之外..也方便無產階級文化革命思想的管制與改造..紅衛兵"批孔批林"也就成為事實了.(鄧小平的改革開放後..這成效已大不如毛周時代)中共建政以前..以正體字為本.並不排除簡(草)體字..建政後教育政策卻本末倒置..
