the funniest thing is that in the original live (which cannot be found now) before this song, Bo made comic calculations, in which he said "according to statistics, on 9/11, most houses of cards are destroyed," after which the audience stopped laughing in principle
The crowed didn't suck just I think Americans tend to be more involved and vocal while Scottish/English people are more laid back and just enjoying the show
@@addiborland2241 normally that's true but with this song he wants people to sing along with the chorus, he literally gives cues and falls silent so the crowd can fill in the vocals.
THIS. WAS. NOT. A. BO. BURNHAM. SHOW It was the Edinburgh fringe, nobody was there for some American waen. So they don’t know the jokes, don’t know the words and aren’t gonna laugh unless it’s VERY funny and existential as that’s our style of humour
This is the Edinburgh Comedy festival, it's a notoriously difficult crowd, if they don't like you you'll know it. There's been bigger comedians than him get booed off stage and never want to go back. As pretentious as it is to say the people in the crowd will have forgotten more about comedy acts than we will ever know, they're hanging on his words and don't miss a joke, it's pretty respectful to him!
This is a British audience and we're a lot less likely to do call and response like an American audience.
The thing is, if I were to hear the scotts speak out his name Bwooo, though... 😅

The first one for the ladies, I could understand, but mannnn the second time actually hurt me
help is this the one he had a panic attack during???
1:56 how disappointed he looks when the crowd doesn't do the call and response the SECOND TIME AROUND breaks my heart
I think he knew that no one would sing along so he played along with it.
It's part of the setup that nobody expects it the first time but they sing it the second time. The joke is that Bo is gay
True genius comedy is understood multiculturally .
"ohhhh Bo"
'swallow bitch, theres people starvin' in africa'

love how he still put on a good performance even though the audience wasn’t very into it

The audience not laughing adds so much
Edinburgh gets so much comedy with the frindge it's the toughest crowd you could find
3:06 i wonder if he did that because of the audience?
When Bo wants people to sing, they don't. How ironic.
if i was in the audience i would’ve said OHHHHHHHH BO
he has been within a bus drive of me. a b u s.
The disappointment in his face when nobody responded...
i was so uncomfortable when nobody said oh bo
*Tough crowd huh.*
I wish I was old enough to to have gone to this 9 years ago. Discovered him right after he'd finished all his tours in the UK. :(
He is so good at recovering from a bad audience

If he came to Edinburgh this year, I would go and I would shout at the top of my lungs OHHHHH BOOO! 😂
The way he slams the keyboard at the end kills me
