The Gorge of Iron Gates, Romania
The gorge of the Iron Gates(Romanian: Porțile de Fier; Serbian: Đerdapska klisura) is a natural border between Serbia and Romania the moment the Danube River enters Romania, to the city of Orsova, for approximately 150 km.
Several narrows along the river created one of the most beautiful gorges in Europe. One famous section is the Danube’s Big Boilers, where is the narrowest section, about 150 m wide and up to 75 m deep.
The Big Boilers’ northern bank is a hill just over 300 metres high, offering panoramic views of the river. A 5 km takes you to the top of the hill - Ciucarul Mare peak, where there are several lookout points.
Also, you can choose a speedboat cruise to see the heights of the gorge from bottom to the top.
The most prominent point of interest along the river is the statue of Decebalus (Romanian: Decebal), the last Dacian king, who fought bravely three of the wars during the expansion of the Roman Empire. With 55m height and 25 m width, Decebalus’ statue is one of the biggest sculptures in stone from Europe. It was built between 1994 and 2004, and it costed over a million of dollars. Facing to the southern border, Decebalus remains to watch over and guard his Dacian lands, for the times to come.

I love Romania: Dobrogea - Butterflies and summer feelings
มุมมอง 222 ปีที่แล้ว
Dobrogea is a region in South-Eastern Romania, known the best for the Danube Delta, and the seaside from Black Sea. Except for the marshy Danube Delta and few lakes, the region is quite hilly and windy. The abundant wildlife and vegetation make it a unique region. Although Tulcea is the regional capital and the usual entrance to the delta, Mahmudia is a wonderful village, and the real entrance ...

One of the largest living history attractions in North America, Fort William offers a vivid image of the fur trade life. Here you can see how the maple syrup is made, traditionally: HOME MADE. The maple sap harvest holds between February and April, depending on the location. Lots of crappy street music and mediocre Cajan and Creole food if that's your thing. Stay away from Bourbon Street, the biggest tourist trap in the U.S.

This happens when places become so touristy (and not only in New Orleans, or U.S.). But NOLA is not only about Bourbon street, I think one can find a bit of everything around the city..

Incredible. We always go to visit butterfly conservatories when we discover them in places we visit. Memorable ones in Montreal, Laos, Bali, Kaula Lampur to name a few. It's fun to learn which flowers attract butterflies. This looks like a great find.

I'm sure this one doesn't compare with the ones in Laos, Bali, etc, as they surely have many more tropical butterflies, but indeed, this is a nice glimpse of a great find. Thank you for stopping by🙂
