So I remember this building passed by it a zillion times coming downtown in all those years I never knew it was the Wisconsin Club. It's actually west of the downtown branch of the Milwaukee Public Library. On the side of the Library across from the Wisconsin Club is the Milwaukee Housing Authority. The Wisconsin Club sits across the street (on Wisconsin Ave)from the huge YMCA unless they've made that building into apartments for Marquette students now??? When you said Grand ave, I couldn't picture it because Milwaukee has never had a Grand Ave, unless they have renamed a street????
Great video thanks!
Thanks for watching!
We’ve been to many Zoo’s with the kiddos when they were younger and Milwaukee and Columbus are by far the best! I miss the smell of the mold machine and still have the one of Sampson!
Yes, the mold machine!
My first time was 2024 to see the art museum.
That big castle building used to be the iconic IRS🤣🤣🤣🤣
😃
The Pfister used to hv a restaurant called "THE GREENERY" that I would eat lunch in pretty often😊there food was fantastic
@@Beonaire That is great history!
I would really like to get into contact with you about using this video in a documentary film about the Washington Park Zoo!
@@murrman414 Absolutely! Can you grab the video from what I posted? Or shoot me an email and I can share the digital copy with you. I'd love to see a documentary of the Washington Park Zoo!
@@wisconsinplacesarecool Yes. I was able to grab the video successfully. I was unable to find your email on first attempt looking for it. I ran CC at Washington Park 4 times for Nathan Hale. Great video. I will make contact with further development of WPZ documentary.
it was a nice area...not so much any more
@@davidkoehler136 how so? you rarely hear about any crime in that area. a lot of people like you say the north side, but it's really pocket areas that are bad not the entire north side, and what they call the north side isn't really the north side it's in fact the northwest side and even in those areas pockets of good area
I never experienced Northridge mall it closed as I grew up. My mall was the grand avenue mall downtown.
That's made a good comeback with the 3rd Street Market Hall. I loved Grand Ave!
I remember when Marshall Fields took over Gimbels Shusters on Plankinton rd & Wisconsin ave in Downtown Milwaukee. Even back then Northridge has never been one of my fav malls😊
I've operated the swing bridge back in 1985 along with the KK swing bridge .Thanks for the memories !
Wow, very cool!
I remember them talking about this shortly before we moved out of the state if this is the one across from McKinley Marina. I sure do miss Wisconsin and always enjoy your content.
You are right about the location and thanks for watching!

John Hawks Pub used to reside on Broadway. It was south of Wisconsin ave then. That was thee best bar downtown you had to walk down steps to get to it. Inside was all mahogany wood. It reminded me of "CHEERS" the tv show🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
That was a great place!
I just went there for my field trip today! 12/17/24
Very cool!!!
Magnificent. can't wait to visit the basilica of Saint Josephat I grew up on the North side of Milwaukee my entire life and at the age of 28 I have never been able to experience the beauty of the entire city of Milwaukee.
@@anthoniusra4769 It is amazing!
I like to come this way in the city
@@anthoniusra4769 Agreed!
That's really good because I once was speaking with a student of architecture who was looking @ some old buildings on Wisconsin Ave and he told me that he learned from his studies that Wisconsin has some of the best architecture worldwide. Didn't know that @ the time but I've come to learn that's a very true statement.😊
@@Beonaire Good point!
🙏❤️✝️❤️🙏
Well it's beautiful, never open as like when the Holy Ghost Fr were there! Pay to park except for Sunday Mass. The Holy Sarifice has been pushed aside for entertaining 😢 Well even Greek Town has change!
Coming in from Mitchell Field Airport🤣🤣🤣
Yes! 😊
Why is that funny?
Across the street from here in that park is where they celebrate Baptiste Day???
Yes, great call! Bastille Days is at Cathedral Square.
I love this😊
Thank you Very Very much😊 Didn't know Milwaukee has a light Raill System now??? So I'm thinking that street must be Milwaukee street, since you started @ Michigan & road pass Wisconsin Ave??? I know now you're heading north on Milwaukee street😊
The HOP train system covers a few miles downtown. You are right we started at Michigan. Broadway is just one block West. I should do that street soon and have it lead to Old St. Mary Church 😃
@@wisconsinplacesarecoolCool I will be waiting & watching😊
That's where you go to get your bartender's license, lol😊😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
😀
Awesome video! There’s a massive tunnel system underneath those woods. They’re made out of old yellow brick and there’s a few manholes scattered throughout the woods that lead to it. They were used to transport steam and water to each of the buildings.
@@UrbanWandererz That is cool, thank you!
There's another old theater on Vliet street which it turns into from Walnut on 27th street
SO PRETTY!!!!!!!!!
Boy, those giraffes are just plain gorgeous looking🎉❤🎉
WAIT THATS MY CITY
Awesome!
Back in the day we used to go ice skating & tobogganing @ Brown Deer Park. They had a rec hall there that sold hot chocolate. I loved that place in the winter time. We learned how to skate @ Franklin Square on Teutonia Ave. Those were gorgeously stunning days😊
@@Beonaire Those are great memories!
I can remember Glorioso's when it was actually just a hole in the wall space wise & I used fo visit it with my father. He knew the owner personally.✌🏿
@@Beonaire That is great! It sounds like they originally were located across the street, which may be that small space you referred to.
@@wisconsinplacesarecoolYes, they were located on the northside of Brady street if you are heading away from the lake & Prospect towards the west and going towards Humboldt & Holton ave. In that area Nicolo's was one of thee best full Italian restaurants in the area.
Ive always wanted to do this in locations for texas, just to follow natural landmarks to their origin :0 it's awesome to see stuff like this

Got a lot of these in Dallas Tx. They are also handy not just to beat traffic but also avoid tolls.
@@adotintheshark4848 Very cool!
Hope the city of Milwaukee put something there that will last generations to come.
Agreed!
In 1898, it was free masonry, just there for the taking! They ‘founded’ it when they were walking down the street and tripped over it. Haha. Some offer the idea that the many Worlds Fairs of that era were actually the masonic survey for the globalist merchants of that era to either bid for or be gifted ‘founding’ privilege of a building, village, town, city, state, region, etc. The ‘Rediscovery’ of Atlantis. Liberte, egalite, fraternite. Amongst masons ONLY. Not the common, uninitiated man. They can eat dirt in the outer darkness…..it’s the exact opposite of brotherhood of humanity. Thanks for showing us a piece of old Atlantis.
Last time I was at Brookfield Square, it was a ghost town

Nice I remember Sheridan as well. Ger xrp your not to far in the race to be epic wealthy.
In 2021 I did a whole walking tour of this Mansion to potentially purchase it at that time it was on the market for $400,000 I took pictures of the interior which was awesome on the top floor it had a ball room, the guest house was a whole preschool there is huge jungle gym on the other side of the main mansion. Sucks that this mansion is no longer historical because of the business wing built but it still has the original woodwork inside. the inside you're met with a huge fireplace and unto your right you'll see a carpeted stairway there is also on the main floor. a huge conference room and, a huge restaurant looking kitchen and, huge dining room.
