Many people might disagree, but I think this engine looks even better than the 1950 Hudson 773. I will say that the main reason is that beautiful color it has. That LED headlight definitely makes a big difference.

Thank you for posting, this is a fantastic locomotive. Love how the side rods are the same color as side rods actually are, and not the dark metallic which is not prototypical at all. It makes the running gear pop against the black wheels. Also love how the black is relatively shiny, also like the prototype. The fact that they painted the jacketing over the firebox black is on point too, as so many model companies wrongly paint firebox jacketing graphite. MTH is looking especially great these days, I’m glad they’re still around and doing a lot of right things.
