2024 GMC Sierra Denali EV First Impressions (2k miles)
In this video I drive my buddy Jason's GMC Denali EV and was impressed with the initial quality, driving experience, and rear steering. Though I don't see myself buying an EV anytime in the future, it was fun to drive and learn a bit more about these trucks. Jason has owned a Rivian R1T and traded that truck in (actually via Lemon Law) to get this truck since the Rivian had some frame cracks and other issues.

Leaking oil - issues with Ford Service
มุมมอง 247วันที่ผ่านมา
In this video I took my truck to my trusted mechanic for a simple oil change, however, they noticed the truck had been leaking for some time from the motor above the oil pan. I subsequently took the truck to Ford to have them repair it under warranty as I only have 22k miles on this Superduty. My mechanic John told me how dealers pay their mechanics and try to cut costs on warranty work which s...

6.7 High Output Review, Towing, MPG, DEF Consumption & Thoughts
มุมมอง 14Kหลายเดือนก่อน
I have clocked over 20,000 miles on my 2023 F350 Superduty with the 6.7 liter high output diesel and so far things have been pretty good with this truck. I talk MPG, DEF consumption, and my overall thoughts about this truck and how I use it.

I have had a very mixed ownership experience with my 2023 Ford F350 Superduty. On the one hand, the truck is awesome - power is good, the cab is relatively well put together, and things mostly work the way they should. On the other hand - I hate the DEF, all of the electronics, the known fuel pump issues, and the electronics not working the way they should and randomly throwing errors on the da...

In this video I interview my friend about his ownership experience with the Rivian R1T electric truck. He shares his honest experience owning this truck for over two years with roughly 35k miles. I can tell you firsthand, this truck is FAST! And it looks way better than a Tesla Cybertruck, but that's just my opinion.
Surprising my son with a Jeep
มุมมอง 322 หลายเดือนก่อน
Our son is turning two this week and so I purchased a used Best Choice Products Jeep Wrangler Ride-on toy (Walmart's version of Powerwheels). I swapped the 12v battery for a new one with 15 amp hours which will more than double the 6 am hour battery that came with the toy from the factory. We tried this out on grass, dirt, and it worked best on pavement (no surprise).

They are cool, but I am not ready for one ... GM has lots of ground to work on - 8500 pounds, weights more than a fully loaded F250! 24 inch tires to replace every 25K miles or so ... payload is only 1700 pounds ... will be interesting to hear reviews after 24 months of ownership. Good luck!
All very valid points. Those tires aren’t going to be cheap to replace, that’s for sure. Plus they don’t last long with all that torque and weight.
Unfortunately weight and range are directly related especially with a full size truck format that is heavy to begin with. These make sense for a commuting truck person or for regional fleets that drive less than 200 miles per day to allow Level 2 chargers to replenish. I personally prefer a hybrid arrangement but that won't satisfy some imminent state zero emissions requirements.
I was told Best Top is the highest quality soft top made made by the Jeep top developers
I have heard similar things
Try driving one in Chicago during the winter see how that works. Anybody that tells you to buy an electric vehicle I wouldn't trust them.
Yup no kidding. They are not good in cold climates and driving with the heat on kills the battery I have heard. I’m definitely not buying an EV anytime in the near future, they still have a ways to go.
no EV shit box junk
Not my cup of tea either. I prefer traditional trucks and cars for a multitude of reasons, but it is always fun to drive somebody else’s toy.
Nice. Do you have a cabin air filter? Sometimes they are located inside or below the glove box
I do, haven’t replaced it yet but will tackle that one next.
I hate American vehicles I had to change a door handle in a 2021 Jeep grand Cherokee I expected it to take 5 minutes like it does on every Japanese car on every German car only to find out I had to remove the entire inner door assembly because guess who decided it would be too hard to just put the bolt on the side of the door and a rubber cover like literally any other car designer
That’s super annoying….
Did you ever see a return on this marketing?
Not really. I think I got one small job from it but nothing significant. Yard signs are a better investment in my experience.
Thanks for having me on brother! Great job on the video 🙏
Any time! Thanks for letting me check out the truck!
👍
Thanks$
It would be great if one of the big 3 focused entirely on quality control instead of just pumping out more power every year.
That’s a great idea and I wish they would. We don’t need more power anymore.
Wonder if diaper pin 🧷 the 4 corner straps as to keep a little tension keep it from releasing
That's a good idea. I sold this a while back so I’ll never know.
I worked for Toyota, know techs and writers. Toyota used to be one of the best, have owned several myself. It’s not exactly Toyotas fault for the reliability issues. Covid supply chain problems dramatically reduced quality from their suppliers of an average of 6,000 parts on a car. There is a reason why there’s so many tundras and Tacomas are sitting. At this point people are holding off purchasing until issues are remedied. The Toyotas of new are not the Uber reliable of old. Just the way things are.
Thanks for the insight, Jay. That makes sense, and it’s a bummer things are not like they were still a few years after Covid.
Welcome to the USA. $100k new poor quality trucks.
Yea no kidding. This truck was $70k new, but they easily climb past $100k these days.
If was a Toyota it would blow up sooner. Lol.
Toyota is like the most reliable car company on the planet, what are you talking about
They were until they replaced their super reliable V8s with twin turbo V6s that have been failing bad. Rest of their vehicles with new engines time will tell how reliable those are@@rtablesaw
I have heard the new Toyotas are not like they were either. I loved my first and second gen tundra’s though, those things were awesome just couldn’t really tow a fifth wheel.
Correct new is bad old is good.
👍
Thx!
It's sad, but that's the truth...
Yea man, I feel like Toyota has an untapped market with a full size truck but who knows. I’m sure they have their reason’s for not building one.
Good content. Let us know what happens with the dealer.
Will do, just got it back this afternoon. It was a rear main seal leak.
@@RollingWithRuss Wow!
We had a few HD Chevy's never again ! Total crap .
Sad to hear our “American” manufacturers can’t make quality anymore. Too much cost cutting.
biggest problem with a ford is to keep the oil in and the water out. nothing unusual here with this crap. fords got little history of a great truck... a good truck, just not a great one.
Yea tough to find a really good truck nowadays between emissions, cost cutting, etc.
@@RollingWithRuss they're ALL awful anymore, even the beloved Toyota Tundra with that engine recall... WTF!
Dealer techs aren’t allowed to upsell warranty unless the customer complains about it or it is a safety concern. Oil leak isn’t safety so ship em
Good to know. Kind of a bummer the dealer techs can’t even do what’s best for the customer or vehicle but I understand why.
Good info Russ! Thanks for sharing
No problem, thanks for watching!
Pretty common 6.7 leak from the videos I’ve seen. Once it’s resealed with a certain type of pookie it won’t leak again. Also I’ve read that IOS 18 helps resolve the CarPlay crashes.
Good to hear, thanks! And I’ll try that iOS upgrade, I’m still running a version of 17 right now.
iOS 18.1 or whatever the new one is & the 24 SD's and the CarPlay STILL acts up! My only real complaint about my SD!
@@cigarsgunsanddiesel8032 Same here. It's a crappy connection but otherwise the truck is pretty awesome.
@@RollingWithRuss I've been rolling wireless CarPlay, might use a wired connection, esp since the wireless charger doesn't like my thick Pelican phone case!
Dag on fords! They get ya every time.
If it keeps happening Ford might have to buy it back. Might be going to another brand after all!
Well good luck for you.
👍
Longtime watcher!
Dont you have a rear view camera on your trailer?
Not my trailer, only on the truck
Yeah buddy! Welcome. Keep digging on “other things”. You’ll find that so much in our lives is a giant scam
No kidding! I hope you and your family are well Paul!
@@RollingWithRuss Doing well Russ. Hope you guys are as well. I enjoy your video updates. Keep posting
How do you protect yourself from environmentally hazardous material? I.e. asbestos, lead paint, chemicals, etc. Those items can easily be put into your load, when you get to the dump, you are liable for your load...
I put down trash bag liners for paint and stuff so it doesn’t spill and they have a special hazardous waste area at the dump to accept that kind of stuff.
@@RollingWithRuss Do you charge accordingly? In the PNW, there is an upcharge for hazardous material.
Thank you for sharing ❤
Anytime, thanks for watching!
I also have tundra want to get in dump trailer business.
Do it, the sooner you start the sooner you can learn and earn!
I have a 2023 HO with the 3.31. I hand calculate every tank and DEF fill up. My truck mileage is .6 - .8 mpg off. My mileage pulling my Momentum 351M (16.7K) on a 1200 mile trip 8.9 mpg and 178 mpg DEF consumption. Normally unloaded around town I average 568 mpg of DEF so towing burns it. My 2022 would get over 800 mpg DEF.
That is very interesting. I wonder if the 23+ trucks are programmed for more regens for cleaner emissions?
@@RollingWithRuss The way I understand it, the HO runs hotter therefore putting out more NOx calling for the extra DEF usage. I could be completely wrong. Also I'm sure there are more stringent regulations.
On my 24 F450 you can delay the backup camera to stay on until you reach a certain mph.
Good to know. Not sure if that solves my complaint but possibly if it stayed on long enough in between reverse and park cycles…
I too was disappointed in the cover up (yes, it was, sadly, a cover up). I took the vaccine so i could go on vacation (it was required to travel) and ended up with long term vertigo effects. I had COVID twice before the vaccine and twice after. Mild each time. Then after learning about the cover up and monies I was disgusted. How do you do this to your fellow Americans for $$$?
Yea it’s pretty crazy how they got away with this and are still not in prison… corruption at its finest.
Great video! Thanks for posting, can you go over agreements you would have with customers.
All my agreements are verbal and then I have them sign a quote. For dumpster rentals I have a one page contract they sign.
Yep glad I didn't get it
Smart man Andre!
Keep digging brother it goes even deeper 💪💪
Sadly I’m sure it does…
What weight can they carry in the dumpster
About 7,000 pounds is the limit.
Thanks for sharing. You can sell nice items and get paid twice from 2 job, or you can give it away. Otherwise, you will have junk laying around your own house.
Totally, I sell some of the stuff on Facebook marketplace and donate a lot too
everybody hates that door ding.
Apparently Forscan can turn it off but I have yet to purchase it.
I’m surprised this video doesn’t have more views. Long term reviews on electric vehicles can help folks considering buying a used EV.
Yea that’s kinda what I figured. Coincidentally, this guy sold his Rivian and got a Silverado EV and so I am going to do a follow up review with him on the Silverado once he has some miles on it.
Put some airbags on it and it will clean up your wind situation
Interesting - does that make it more firm?
I changed my oil at 7k , i send my oil in every change for analysis, Blackstone Labs told me i can go at least to 10k, the oil was not breaking down, you are changing it to soon at 5k, however I use the best oil, not sure what your using
I am using the motorcraft synthetic. I can probably extend a bit and plan to go at 7500 intervals next.
What brand oil are yiu using?

Does the dually ride worse then the single rear wheel 1 ton ?
It does have one extra leaf spring and two extra tires contacting potholes, bumps etc so I would assume I rides slightly rougher.
@RollingWithRuss ok thanks, I rented a single wheel one ton it had a pretty nice ride
16:27 , I tried liking the video again.
Thank you!
How do you find customers??
Combination of yard signs, postcards (sent about 800), networking and referrals from existing clients. Yard signs have been the best ROI as far as paid marketing goes for me.
Spray wd40 on that squeak.
The plastic one?
That HO stuff is just a gimmick, no one will ever be able to use all that hp and torque. U need a lot more rubber making contact with the ground if u ever wanna use it all. Not even a dually will ever use it all. But that’s just my opinion
"It is what it is"
Yup - I repeated myself a bit :/
It is what it is… you’re clueless.
Okay? Thanks for insulting me without providing any real feed back. Helps the algorithm nonetheless!
@@RollingWithRussjust don't understand people with their negativity 🙄
At what weight amount would you get a 350 with the duallies?
I suppose it’s anyone’s best guess. For me weight is just part of the consideration, it’s also how often would I drive in windy areas. Or if I hauled horses or livestock that were moving around in the trailer I would more strongly consider a dually. Right now it would only probably make a small difference, but if I DID go with a larger fifth wheel one day I would certainly upgrade to a dually.
You can turn off the door ding with forscan. I just did it on my 2023. You can also turn off the seatbelt screen.
Thanks for the tip. Might need to invest in forscan.
Just wear your seat belt. Done.
FORScan is free. Just need a compatible OBDII dongle.
