It's only good for the SUB and when paired with rh Venture X. After the first year - cancel it! I opened this last night and it goes along with my Venture X and Savor (OG) Card. SUB, SUB, and more SUB.
Since you have a non WF checking account, can you explain the point redemption. Is it a statement credit? Does point redemption count towards one of the 4 payment limits per month?
Great question- point redemption for WF is in the form of a statement credit when using points for that, and point redemption doesn't count as one of 4 monthly payment from a non-WF account which gives a bit more flexibility (although the 4 to begin with can be a bit of an annoyance)
Here’s my hot take: there absolutely a right answer here. You should never be loyal to any corporation. They have no idea who you are and don’t care either. You’re a number on a spreadsheet to them. Grab whatever transferable point currency card you prefer and have at it. Don’t be loyal to the issuer either. Never be afraid to dump one corporation for another - they would do the same to you in a heartbeat.
This is FACTS! Really great perspective
I’ve never understood the point to the Venture. I get the Venture One (to keep a setup NAF) and the Venture X. The Venture takes $95 away from you and gives you nothing back to offset the fee annually. With Wells Fargo you can pair two NAF cards - the Active Cash for a 2x catch all and the Autograph for a ton of 3x categories - and still be able to transfer out. For free. Sure, the transfer partners aren’t as good with WF as they are with Chase and Amex, but you can get the same value as you can with Cap 1 when working the mid to low tier partners.
This was very helpful! Thanks for this information.
Boycotting
The CC is a solid option, but the other two are trash for everyday spend/people.
Hey Broseph I want to edit your videos
Great info
Use Skyscanner.
How do I get the offer? I tried to sign up and they declined and gave me no reason as to why. Credit and history is good so I wanted to try again but the limited offer is no longer there…
Unfortunately, don't think this offer is still out there but given they are launching a new card keep an eye out in the near future to see if anything changes. I tend to cover all types of Welcome Bonuses, so hopefully this comes back around!
Great video
Does the Groceries Category include Target?
What about people with a family, I can get into the lounge but my wife and kid can’t, oh wait I can pay 50 dollars 😢
Why does so many people care so much about Welcome Bonus, it’s just a one time deal and everything is down hill from there. Like the ride share , 10 dollars pre month. Why they can’t give you the whole 120 at one time and when it’s gone it’s gone.
Dude....if you CAN you should do both. Max out the Roth IRA first and put the rest into your 401k(ROTH 401k if available). Then focus on after tax accounts.
If I get a Amex gold now and get my points before a flight that I have done reserved for the end of April can I use my points to upgrade to first class and still get the $50 discount per 5000 points used even though I paid for my flight already with money and not points ? I guess what I’m asking is do I get the discount for using points to upgrade seats ?
In all honesty, you might have a couple options- 1) use points to upgrade to first once you meet the sign up bonus/ get points (although you won't get an additional discount on the upgrade) 2) look to reprice the flight where they'll give you a credit for the amount paid and then you can either rebook with just miles or money + miles Either are viable options and sometimes you may end up getting a better deal when repricing
the mattiott free night rewards are worthless.
They need to redesign and make that card metal. Looks cheap and like a Monopoly card.
If they made it metal and maybe added some different benefits, I would definitely consider re-applying 💯
The AA credit cards that Barclays has used to be U.S. Airways credit cards then American Airlines bought U.S. Airways so the Barclays cards were converted to AA cards. This is a simialr reason why Chase and Amex have Marriott cards. The Marriott credi cards that Amex has used to be Starwoods hotel cards then Marriott bought Starwoods hotels so the Starwoods hotel cards were converted to Marriott hotel cards.
Awesome Video!
Thank you 🙌🏼
Can you use this to book flights on spirit through expedia and earn rewards?
Super
Most of the PP lounges I have been in the US have been mid at best. Maybe I was spoiled when I have AMEX Centurion lounge access.
Completely agree- seems like most US-based PP lounges and even airline services has declined in the past years coming out of COVID. Finding so much more value internationally these days
If gas is really a big spend category for you, 2x United miles per dollar spent at gas stations isn’t great (unless you’re getting really huge value out of United miles). Tons of cards give 2x back on all purchases, and other cards will do 3, 4, or 5x back on targeted categories (like gas)
I am hopeful that there is a decent cpp transfer to AA.
You and me both 🙏🏼
1:1 would be all we need right?
Thank you just TORE my ASPIRE offer! As far as CREDIT ONE its too late for that card recently accepted and its Totally AWEFUL an experience they are shady wont accepted neither of my Checking Accounts to enable me to make payments there for TRAPPING People to have to use a Representatives to make payments with a $7.99 Charge.
75 percent starts at platinum honors not diamond.
Its a useless card.. there is no usp
Possibly!
Waht your insta I'd!
Venture card is a solid 2x card excellent to build miles rewards for travel! I pc’d to it two months ago happy to have it in my wallet!
My theory is that people get these cards for their ego. These folks probably couldn't care less about the benefits
Love the BCE. My hope is they will raise my limits after 60 days!
I'm in a small market, so airline cards don't really move the needle for me. I do see value in them for folks that live near a hub.
Thanks Joseph for making a detailed video on this card. Nobody has talked about these details to your extent. Thanks again!
Glad it was helpful!
If citi offers PP restaurants they would make up for not having lounges of their own. It would be to their benefit. Every premium card dropped PP restaurants. but if citi had it people would flock to them
That would actually be super clutch!! With the overcrowding of PP lounges and people getting food anyways, hopefully it's a no-brainer for Citi
A premium Citi card would likely be a game changer. People sleep on them, but they have the best earning cards with very little category overlap. I just completed the quadfecta and am currently working on the last SUB for that set up. A fifth card would be awesome.
Totally agree! I think the missing piece for Citi is that premium card offering- especially if they have a lounge/ airport experience to go with it. Would honestly make me reconsider my entire credit card strategy and optimization plan!
Will we still have the option to choose having separate cards for our accounts if we prefer? Hopefully this will not be a mandatory thing, is it?
Great video
Thank you, appreciate the support 🙌🏼
Couldn't finish because of the poor audio. Thanks tho 👍
Yea that four times a month rule is what caused me to cancel the Bilt card.
It's turned into a bit of an annoyance with no change likely to be made- has made me rethink this card, but for now isn't the worst thing in the world I suppose. Could always open a WF Checking account but more hoops to jump through lol
100 subs! Congrats! Appreciate your content!
Thank you, appreciate the support!! 🙌🏼
Around 2 min there’s an annoying shuffling sound. I’d remove that. Makes it unbearable to watch: listen
Cool video, I was thinking about getting one of the Amex cards. It sounds like there's something scratching in the audio which makes it a bit hard to listen. Otherwise interesting change
I just got approved for this card. Going to try it out then I’ll make a video for it. I sub to you to help you grow if you don’t mind doing the same. Keep up the good work!
So many other cards out there that have much better multipliers. Chase is behind the times. The ONLY thing they have is the portal boosts and Hyatt.
Totally agree, really selling point for me is travel bonus SUB and portal multiplier They do have some travel transfer partners that I like (Southwest/United) which my other cards don’t have, so give and take with it but given my current setup just not enough value for me 🤷🏻♂️
can i use the $300 credit while im earning the bonus, or is it after the $4,000?
Great question- the T&C shows that the $300 credit states it’s good from 1 year of account opening, so safe to say it’s possible to use while earning the bonus!
Which do you prefer delta or SW ?
Honestly both are great airlines- unfortunately neither are hubs around me. Love Southwest for checked bag/ open seating policy as I’ve never been one to chase status…tend to fly whatever is most convenient for me. But on the other hand, Delta is great both domestic and globally. I tend to travel more internationally so lean towards delta for reasonable Comfort+ prices, lounge access across a ton of hubs and global partnership with other airlines (SkyTeam Alliance)
Two things about the Premium Rewards Elite: The highest tier for earnings (the 75% bonus) only needs Platinum Honors ($100k with BoA/Merrill), which is significantly less than he $1M needed for Diamond status. The other thing is that BoA allows you to redeem for airfare at a 20% discount (basically a 25% bonus) when redeeming through their portal, essentially making this a 3.28 cents everywhere/4.375 cents on travel/dining card for a Platinum Honors customer redeeming for airfare through the portal. Also keep in mind that the travel credits are per calendar year, so in your first year you're actually getting $900 in statement credits ($300 in airline credit and $150 in lifestyle credit, which both reset on Jan 1) not to mention the 75,000 mile signup bonus which is worth $937.50 (if redeemed for airfare through the portal). After accounting for the annual fee, that's $1,287 in value for the first year (when redeeming for airfare through the portal) not including the value of the points actually earned on the spend, or any bonus for Premium Rewards status.
The 125k offer is good , but the best offer was the 5 free nights.... those i got 250 k. Value from.....even including some ritz carltons
Yes, totally agree!! There was a recent offer for 5NF that ended 10/16 for the Bonvoy Business card, so hoping it'll come around on the Consumer card soon!
Is it possible to upgrade to the Venture X from the Savor One? I got the Amex Gold so there’s some repetition in my setup right now. And I rather not get a triple pull from Cap1 lol
