    @Pen-Pusher Why not switch to a better reliable led bulb replacements, such as sylvania standard led with a 1 year warranty or sylvania zevo premium led with a lifetime warranty? This model may not say u have a bulb burned since it doesn’t have higher tech digital dash screen, even though it will tell u bulb is burned out but it’s not because it runs fine. A sylvania zevo would be a perfect upgrade for ur Jetta and so does the rest of the zevo led bulb replacement for ur vehicle.

      @@Pen_Pusher no I don’t but I wish lol. I’m just an automotive led lighting enthusiast that I always recommend for those want brightness, is Lasfit or Auxito, or for reliability and longevity, sylvania led is great option BUT, the zevo led is the way to go for the lifetime warranty.

    That's WAY more work than it needs to be, I used to repair people's steering wheels when they had the exact same problem back in the 80s, I never drilled holes or took the wheel off, I used a needle and syringe filled usually with super glue, I would push the needle into the wheel until it hit metal and then squirt some glue in there, the whole job took me no more than 15 minutes and was ready for use an hour later.

    • @Pen_Pusher
      @Pen_Pusher 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      You have to wedge the rear edge of the seat under the backrest and then forcefully push down on the front edge so it catches and stays in place. It is somewhat similar to closing the hood. The hood can be dropped so it catches and stays closed. Hope this helps. 🙂

    I’m shopping for another car to replace my 2000 Buick Park Avenue that I love because it is so quiet but the driver’s side door won’t open from inside or outside. My mechanic has fixed it, I don’t know how, it quit opening, he fixed it again, it quit opening. One of his customers was selling his 2014 Lexus es 350. I drove it, LOVED it but mileage was too high. So I’m shopping for a used Lexus. I noticed you said, “ Honda's have horrible door and Ignition locks. They use poor quality wafers in the locks that wear out and the key stops working.”. I considered looking at Acura’s. My question, do you think an Acura is as well made as a Lexus? Since Honda has the lock and door problems? Thank you for your advice!

    Something to note: 1998-2002 corollas have a major difference that can make this whole different process. On the 8th gen, the thermostat is not easily accessible as it is in the previous generation. Instead, it is mounted on the left side (serpentine belt side) under the alternator. This would require disconnecting the battery, loosening the belt tensioner, as well as the removing the alternator in order to get access to the thermostat. Why this matter? If you have a garden hose and your own driveway to make a mess on, no issues. However, if you don't, you would need to rely on doing multiple flushes in order to get as much coolant out of the engine as possible. You can either do this, with the thermostat in, or out of the car. 1). If you choose to do it with the thermostat taken out, you would need to reinstall the alternator, belt, and tension it before running the car. Since the thermostat is taken out, you can circulate the entire system just with the heater cranked to full, and wait until the coolant gauge is up to temp. Then drain, refill, idle, drain, refill, idle ... with water until it runs clear. And then when you finally are done flushing the system and want to put the old thermostat back in, or replace it with a new one, you would need to remove the alternator again and install it again before filling with new coolant. You also shouldn't drive long long distance running on only water with no thermostat. 2). If you choose to do it with the thermostat in, to avoid having to remove and reinstall the alternator multiple times, you would need to drive in between each drain for at least 20-30 minutes with the heat cranked up. Basically drain and fill it with water once a day and continue with your daily commute until the water is clear. This will taken more time, actual driving, since it's hard to circulate the coolant just with the car idling and waiting for it to get up to temperature for the thermostat to open. So for 8th gen corolla owners (and I think even 9th gen also), if you don't have access to a garden hose and a yard to potentially make a mess on (cause it's hard to aim the drain pan perfectly to not to get some of the coolant/water on the ground), due to the location of the thermostat, your choice is essentially between having to remove and install the alternator and serpentine belt multiple times to flush it quickly to get it done in a day, or having to do it over the course of multiple day or a week slowly with daily drain and fills to avoid having to remove the alternator. Hope this helps.

    Best angles, talking clearly, we can see what’s you are talking about. Best video on changing an alternator for this car I could find. Thank you man!

    ....Wonder how much a used one would have been...Taking it off was 1/2 the job....

      Good question. You have to find one that is compatible, as well as in good shape.

    if a fuse was blown, they would not come on at all, intermittent means more likely faulty ground, or relay.

      Fuse is just always the first thing to check. :)

    Whew lad. I have this to face because I'm making a cross country trek from Seattle to Miami soon and my sienna has no indication of when timing chain was last done so I'm doing this as preventative maintenance. I want to do the kit for chain and water pump. I've not watched the full video before writing this (about 15:00 in) how much beyond this to do water pump as well?

    Where is the heater drain?

    • @Pen_Pusher
      @Pen_Pusher 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The heater core doesn't have its own drain. The coolant just cycles through it when you turn the heat on inside your vehicle. To drain the heater core you have to remove the hose connected to it. See the video on a heater core flush: th-cam.com/video/FpCF1jTA0F8/w-d-xo.html

    This really helps! The bulb I need to replace, but it’s loose in the headlight cover and out of the socket. Is it easy to remove the cover so I can remove the loose bulb?

    • @Pen_Pusher
      @Pen_Pusher 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Harris, the photo at 1:31 shows you the inside of the headlight housing. If your bulb lies inside this part you should be able to reach easy enough. If your bulb is located beyond this part in the glass enclosure, then you have a different problem. You will probably need to remove the whole headlight to get it out.

    Why not take a big bore hypodermic needle and inject some glue down to the steel support core from behind on the steering wheel.

      Yes, that could work, if you have access to such a device. :)
