Unbelievably Long Monster Road Train at a river crossing in remote Australia
มุมมอง 208K6 หลายเดือนก่อน
Try counting the wheels! This is the longest truck - or, rather, two trucks joined together for a river crossing - I've ever seen in my life. Crossing the Blyth river in West Arnhem Land, NT. Credits and thanks for a lovely song to @TheAlabamaBand

"Проходной двор" это навсегда!!!!!
Спасибо Юрию Леонидовичу за его Музыку. Помню еще Н-ские песни.
Спасибо за Юру!!! Когда в Питер?
the Shunta bar is a good idea for river crossings
Music is nice, but i would rather hear the truck engine
@@johnnyskjoldpedersen5348 thank you - that's a kind of critical comment one's happy to take on board. I like putting music in, but will think more about sound balance and finding the right track next time. I never expected this video to soar to such popularity
Photoshopped? Doubt 2 road trains this long would ever be safe or legal.
I took that video myself, there's no interruption :-) The trains themselves are not that long: they are connected by a rigid bar for the crossing only, to make it up the slope
@tzitzitlini fair enough
you can't photoshop a video, it would have to be all ai. but you can easily do a search and see that this is legal in certain roads all over australia
@synapticburn fair enough. I'll watch you tube videos more carefully. I've certainly seen ai or computer game videos, which are pretty obvious.
I’m from Australia. They are real and not even the biggest. Most of Australia is largely undeveloped. Big deserts in the middle and west, big swampy forests in the far north. Australia is the same size as the bottom 48 states with 8% of the population.
Ramingining is quite remote and isolated indeed.
Delivering Government hand outs to the locals...😂 Bought and paid for with hard working non indigenous Australians. Tax dollars wasted. It'll be fire wood in a month.
The American mighty 18 wheeler which the country song is praising is just a toddler in comparison to the Australian behemoths.
I agree - the idea was to add some irony, but it looks like it was lost on many. Boosted the views up though :-)
That music is absolutely rubbish
Yup crap,music!
Thank you for your informed opinion, dear sir, much appreciated.
@@tzitzitlini Pasting my reply to a previous, (obnoxious), post. "Not my chosen genre in music either but it doesn't stop me watching something fun. I just kill the audio and put on Sabbath!" Obviously, the music or lack thereof on any clip is up to the creator. How we as viewers deal with it is up to us. Edit" Appropriate Sabbath track would be "Planet Caravan". Personal opinion of course.
@@Damoinion I didn't know that song - thanks, loved it. I'm sure though that if I used that track for the video hundreds of people would come only to tell me how boring and inappropriate it was :-)
@@tzitzitlini Glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, going to get haters everywhere. Best thing we can do is take the plus from those who say nice things, then shrug off the nasties and carry on, knowing we made someone's day better :)
30 axles, with 4 tyres/wheels per axle plus 4 steer = 124 Tyres/wheels all up. Impressive. Backing song is a tad out on it's count - there are 22 wheels on each Primemover and attached trailer by themselves :)
Quite right about the song - I thought it would add an ironic twist, supported by the bubbles in the video :-) Also, don't forget the wheels of the vehicle on the second trailer and the Lancruiser!
Nope, you're completly wrong. 2 of the trailers literally had super singles so that makes it 6 wheels. And with all the spares including the one on the landcruiser. It all sums up to 135 wheels.
I gotta get myself a driving job there for 5 months every year. I'd much rather be in +40 degree weather than mess around for months at -20 to -40.
Music killed me🤮
Thanks for letting me know - I'll make sure it plays at your funeral mate
How do they manage the torque/reve's of the second engine? Is it connected to the pedal of the front?
It's two trucks joined by a stiff bar, both running their own engines
It's called "Feel" when connected by stiff bar
Australian stard semi's are 22 wheelers, Americans can't seem to get past 18
I think it's because of the bridge weight limits on the interstate highways. Certainly not like that in Alberta Canada. The US guys are weighing in at 80 thousand pounds, I pull just under 140 every day unless I'm on an oilfield road then anything goes!
@lovesloudcars the basic weight for a semi in Australia is 42.5 tonnes which is 93,500 pounds.
@@martindaubert1636 That's a single prime mover and 1 trailer. What you have there are 2 units of Type 2 Road Trains, which if rated high mass limit is up to 124.5 tonnes each ... and you have two of those. I noticed some of the loads with "Deltareef" markings - that's a prefab construction and civil engineering company in North East Arnhem Land. That could be close to to 250 tonnes there.
@martindaubert1636 that's just over what I carry. Then the truck and wagon which I think you call a quad dog weighs just over 21.
60 combined?
Nope, count again :-)
Standard operating procedure up north........18 wheelers?......Tonka toys.
It's two trains and neither of them are baby 18 wheelers, you goose
Could have made the point without the burn at the end. Too much time on Facebook, Tony?
Not familiar with irony as a trope? Oh sure, they don't really teach literature at schools these days...
This is 2 road trains
Joined by a stiff bar for crossing
Shit music
Shit comment - we're even :-)
seen this sort of thing a number of times It will be for one of 2 reasons Double up on power to get up and over jump ups without getting stuck Or because the 2nd truck is broke
@@keithatate3050 quite right, reason no 1 😊 getting up a steep bank n the other side
2 Triple Trains & crap music
Thanks fo watching cap :-)
Basically 2x triple Road Trains
124 tires
135
CLICK BAIT FFS you must be BLIND it was 2 trucks and 3 trailers each Big deal
They had a bar between them to double the horsepower, not unusual at the Top End.
Road train convoy
Ik tel er maar 16
I was expecting at least 5 trailers per prime mover??
On an unsealed road? tough expectations :-)
Even in Australia there are limitations (which can vary by state/road) on the size of vehicles on public roads.
@@tzitzitlini
Maximum allowed is 4 trailers but both 3 trailer and 4 trailer road trains have the same maximum length of 53.5 metres.
@harukinzaphod really? The ones I saw must have been illegal then
The trucks are attached to each other by a rigid bar. Didnt realise till saw someone’s comment
1st truck has 71 including spares & steering wheel 2nd has 74 including the ATV, total = 145
And the Landcruiser?
There's no spares on the first trailer, the real number is 135.
I was expecting video...
Have you watched it all?
112
Cool
84 including the Landcruiser
Would've been nice to hear the sound of the Road Train instead of the shitty Country music. Oh well.
Sorry I didn't accommodate your choice of music :-)
It was a good song choice, didn’t have to count the wheels, obviously 18 wheelers 😂
@@onyabikejoe7643 that was my attempt at irony :-)
Free houses for Aborigines (Plenty more where they came from)
124 plus steering wheels and spares!
bout the ATV?
@@jarnosaarinen4583 ATVs have handle bars not a steering wheel 😂😂 good call tho
Chatarras andantes al final son muertas
62 EACH PLUS SPARES
Two trucks each with three normal road train trailers and no deep river at all can cross it with a bicycle and not even get of it!!!.....and the load looks very light😂😂😂.....,(if I didnt see the second truck head i would clap hands but sorry not for this one!!!! NO!!!)
If you crossed that river with a bicycle you would have be dinner for a crocodile.
It was towing the second truck.
See here in the u.s. we use push trucks over icy mountain passes, why on dry land ??? With only triples on the first and quad on the second. I watch you guys pull them all the time with a single tractor ..I mean the water was not that deep, or can the trucks not swim ??? Lol
The water is not that deep indeed - but a) the creek bed can be soft: don't need to tell you what happens to a loaded truck going through half a meter deep soft mud. That's why they use tractors. However, here it's a different problem (we know the creek bed is hard enough). The exit on the other side (not in the video) is VERY steep and trucks lose traction.
@@tzitzitlini good nuff for me 👍😃
They Link up for the Crossing & you never know whats under the Water there, it shifts all the time!
Never seen a tractor pull triples, doubles, or even singles. You'll find tractors on farms. Seen prime movers pulling them though.
It's very steep coming out of the south side of that river I've been stuck there myself lol
They’re hauling Kingspan. Not a lot of weight in it. Just make sure it’s secure… really secure because it does bounce.
After taking all their land and bringing all the diseases to the natives when Australia was made into a penal colony, I think it's sad that y'all still talk smack about them...
Not all - just a few odd haters, and definitely nothing from this channel. I live and work in an aboriginal community not far from this site :-)
More free houses for them (to rack & ruin)
140 .....124 + 16 spares
What about the troopy? :-)
128
Abbos don’t want house whitey, leave em alone, you already ruined their lives, leave ‘em be
Proper firewood would be cheaper
So three? Oh Yeah! Eighteen wheelers.
3 trailers / truck, what's so long about that???, standard road train in the outback
I estimate there is 25 houses worth there and lead or last trailer has the bathrooms and flat pack kitchens.... That would be a Chen ore constructions royalties road train. Folding down boxs that become like a shipping container two for each house two large bedrooms or three bedrooms bedrooms on one side kitchen at one end bathroom at the other end with lounge room between with in the other container module. >< = [ ][ ] You tube and Alibaba They pop up walls >< fold out stack on top of each other gives that amount of housing potential.. Build mining camps quickly with that set up to.... Remote clinics and other services buildings infrastructure.😊 And if gets destroyed by natural or not normal means still stays and is cost effective.
