    Instead of buying a ratchet strap, go to an REI/EMS or any store that sells climbing gear and buy 1" tubular webbing meant for building climbing anchors. You'll know it's rated for strength.

    Since all the equipment has sold out I have put together a home gym. Luckily I found a bench press setup, cheap bar about 800# of plates and a full set of those old school plate loaded standard dumbells with a nice stand for quite cheap in early march. I made my own power rack, bench and dip setup. Then bought an adjustable bench and nicer bar from a local place that amazingly got some stuff in, and a decent single cable tower a guy was selling yesterday for 50$ (score for sure). I have been wanting farmer carry bars to round out my back/trap work but of course they are sold out. I had been thinking of all these complicated ways to build some with 4x4s and steel pipe or welding something up. But for some reason something simple like this went straight over my head lol. I was going to use chain but I really like your idea much much better. Thanks for the tip! Oh, and I was thinking maybe wrapping the grip in hockey stick tape would feel nice on the hands as well.

      After a couple of months of working out using this belt, I can recommend it to anyone who's looking for a good belt that doesn't cost much. It broke in nicely after 2 workouts and now it feels absolutely great! I used to have a lower back pain on the left side when I used the belts that were available at my gym, but after I started using my own - the pain went away and now doing an overhead press feels amazing.

    How do I figure out how to progress in my goals? I never know if I should increase reps or sets or the amount of weight... 🤷🏽‍♀️

    • @kaorafitness7163
      @kaorafitness7163 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Melodie Turori - It depends on your goals. For general health and strength, 3 sets of 10 reps is a good starting point for most people. As you get stronger, try progressing the reps first, until you can do 12 to 15 reps with a near-max effort, then increase the weight (using 2 or 3 sets). The only time I would increase the sets you do is if you are trying to get really strong, and are doing high weight, low reps (3-6). In this case, popular schemes are 4 sets of 6, or 5 sets of 5 (with weights you could only perform a max of 7-10 reps). I hope this helps, thanks for the support!

    Where do you recommend getting a kettlebell from? Also, I notice lots of kettlebells have different features like rubber bases. What features do you look for in your kettlebells?

    • @kaorafitness7163
      @kaorafitness7163 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Carina Pautz - I'd personally recommend getting a good quality kettlebell from a reputable company because the finish will be even and smooth. The finish is important because of how much the handle rotates in your hand during movements like the clean and snatch, and for rust prevention. Companies like Rogue Fitness, Onnit, and Rep Fitness all seem to have top notch kettlebells for reasonable prices. However, I have the most amount of experience with DragonDoor kettlebells, and they have the best finish I have ever seen or used on a kettlebell, but they are very expensive. I personally don't like extra features (like wraps or rubber bases) on my kettlebells, but they are great when using on hard floors like tile or concrete, so take that into account. Thanks for the support!

    How do you make a lighter sandbag?

    • @kaorafitness7163
      @kaorafitness7163 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    How do you know what size rock to use? And how heavy your rock should be for this workout?

    • @kaorafitness7163
      @kaorafitness7163 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The rock needs to be a manageable size and weight, so if you can't pick it up it's obviously too big or heavy. Ideally, it's a weight that you can press overhead, but still provides some challenge. For most, any rock between 20-60 pounds should be great! Thanks for watching!
