EDC Bag- Lowepro Protactic BP450 2

Both of these Lowepro bags are amazing the Version 1, Lowpro Protactic 450 AW has served me well for years and now I had the opportunity to pick up the Version 2 , Lowepro Protactic BP450 AW 2, for basically free (gift cards FTW). So grabbing the version 2 was a no brainer, both of these are tough and my version one shows almost no signs of wear and tear after over 2 years of use. #CameraGear #...
EDC Bag: Peak Design Everyday Sling
มุมมอง 18K4 ปีที่แล้ว
In my search for the perfect EDC bag I came across the new Peak Design Everyday Sling Version 2. The pros are the design and build quality but it does lake some better organization features but this is supposed to be a small camera bag so that is why there is lack of pockets. That being said since I am using it for some camera gear it may work out well, let me know what you think below. #PeakDe...

    Flex in scales it more as well as trade mark (R in circle) on blade it10x larger. The box has date and color code on legit. The foam in box is liner version on real. Fake also has a blade that won't stay sharp like a legit bench made

    Counterfeit! Knockoff or clone would not be sporting the Benchmaid logo and passing it off as the genuine article! Criminals! 👎

    The majority of used ones sold on ebay are fake. The easiest way to tell is the size of the copyright logo printed next to the butterfly logo on the knife blade. All the fakes I've seen have a larger copyright logo.... The authentic is very small, hard to see, but crisp under magnification. This can be seen in photos on the listing easier than other differences. Also look at the reviews, someone selling a used item shouldn't have sold reviews for the same exact knife multiple times, yet they do.

    I do have and sometimes will carry Knockoffs, usually for a situation where there is a chance I could lose it or need to abuse it, and I'd rather risk breaking or losing a $20 knife over an expensive one.

    This is the perfect edc knife - especially if you're sick of being ripped-off by knife companies and resellers. I bought a Bugout clone three years ago (tan scales and gold spacers) and I only love it more and more. A Benchmade 940 costs around $500 here in NZ. A PM2 is around $400. A Sebenza will set you back $800+. You're an idiot to pay that sort of money for a tool you plan to use. Things like the 'Butterfly Tax' and reseller greed has created the clone market. For my needs, my Bugout clone is every bit as good as a genuine Bugout and it would be for 99% of users. I also use it more often, as I'm not risking a $500 knife. But, for the pretentious pocket jewellery types, knock yourself out and pay over the odds. Each to their own.

    You'll be able to tell when you sharpen it. The steel that's used on the clone is not s30v. Is a softer steel and it will be very difficult to sharpen as the burr will break off leaving micro chips on the edge. I've seen it under a microscope.

    • @Salty_Balls
      @Salty_Balls 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I've heard it's poorly heat treated 440. Some say it's poorly done 8CR13Mov since they use so much of it in cheap US brands made there. Could also be chopped up ships for all know. 🤷🏻‍♂️

    The fakes can’t get the trademark R correct. Real Benchmade R is very small and tucked very close to the wing. The Chinese one is bigger and farther from the wing. You can also tell by looking at the grind on the blade

    amazing to me how many copium-inhaling anime avatar posters feel the need to talk about how smart they are because they only spent $20 on their amazon box tape cutter. yes if you never use your knife to do anything real, then you should stick to clones. although i will one-up you further and say that you should stick with a $5 utility knife; you are a sucker spending 9x just to try to look cool

    The one i got was suppose to be real, when i compared it to my real one the handle was thicker, the clip was longer and the sharpening choil was cut a little off it was not as sharp the logo on the blade was a little darker and no insert in the box and the knife was in a plastic sleve laying on top of the nylon bag . They were no mfg date on the box.

    The thing is they CAN be manufactured the same, using the same materials, and for much cheaper in foreign countries. You can buy that and probably not lose much quality. We like to tell ourselves that made in USA is better, and tbh it usually is, but knockoff doesn't always mean bad.

    Let me just say this…. In Australia, Bench Made knives can go for around $500. When you here that they are so similar, it’s tempting. Not saying it’s right, just saying it’s tempting. I haven’t purchased one, but I have sure as shit looked at them.

    • @SirWalterSansRien
      @SirWalterSansRien ปีที่แล้ว

      knockoffs typically use steel even worse than 8cr13mov chinesium. you WILL feel the difference in performance if you actually use your knife. if your knife is just a prop to flick at your desk or post on social media, then yeah you might as well get a fake.

      To be fair, labor rates in the US are easily 10X that of China or Taiwan, so there's one big reason. Also the counterfeiters didn't pay for research and development, they just copied an original. The fact people support this is kinda sad. I suppose the same people that would buy stolen goods if the price is low enough. No morality.

    I think a comparison of mechanism, components and knife steel would be interesting, great job on the video. Those Chinese are sneaky 😊 I remember when the Japanese entered our market…even as a youngster I could tell the difference between cast and tin. The Japanese didn’t steal our technology. (I don’t believe) Again, thanks for great video!

    Alright, we all been around awhile, we all know or should, if you buy from Wish or Aliedexpress, your buying a copy period. I have bought overpriced and Wish bugouts, did I know the difference duhhh of course, I use the beaters for everyday work use and they function fine, heavy use then I carry the real deal, very simple process. So you sharpen up your beater more often bfd but when u loose or break it, not loosing sleep over it for damn sure.

    There is no excuse for knowingly buying a fake knife. How many of these fakes are passed off as real? I've seen fake Bugout's at a flea market for $80. When I told the seller it was fake, and showed him a real one, he still didn't lower his price and insisted it was real. I pity the next guy who thought he got a good deal. By the way, all the fakes I saw had a shiny clip, the real ones have a matt finish.
