I'm happy with the Cubs winning the world series in 2016 (though I wish my grandpa could have seen them win) but I wish they would have at least made it there this year.

Never forgave Dusty Baker and never will for burning out Kerry Wood and starting that shit with Chip and Steve....we got stuck with that puppet Len Kasper after this ...adding to the hurt...Chip now does the Cardinals... Stone the White Sox....just perfect...

Those were the days! THIS was Cubs baseball. I remember watching this very game live on TV that day. This was the best era to watch the Cubs both on TV and at Wrigley Field. Now it's as Biff from back to the future took over Wrigley Field and around the area in Lakeview. Trachsel seemed to be pitching all the damn time back then, a lot of the games I remember catching back then it was either Steve Trachsel or Kevin Tapani starting. Thanks for uploading, love the nostalgia. It's like I'm back in 96 all over again watching this, and no time has passed. Go Cubs Go forever and always.

I can’t believe this was 20 years ago. I thought the cubs were for sure going back to playoffs. It’s crazy to think about that these were the final days of the Sammy Sosa era. If you really think about it, there are some threads on this team to the team that won it all 12 years later.

This to me will always be the best cubs team i ever scene they would have destroyed the 16 team plus everyone talks about how good skenes is well playoffs is a different game then regular season an this is still the best playoff game ive ever scene pitched in my lifetime i was theree now i wasnt around in the 50’s 60’s or 70’s but fro 80 on this game he pitched was noone was beating him in this day

My son and I were at this game. It was the first time the Yankees had played a series at Wrigley since the 1930's. We were lucky to get tickets. Clemens was going for number 300 and the crowd was electric. When Karros hit his go ahead home run, the noise level was unbelievable. What memories.

I remember hearing that guy screaming “YEEASSSSS” after Gary’s home run. He was LOUD. We were so happy then, better than now. To see the cubs finally win in 2016 it wasn’t as chaotic as I thought it would be.. sad really, back in 2003 the parade in Chicago would’ve been 10 million instead of 7..

Harry was getting close to the finish line by this time, but still fun to listen to.

I don't know this for a fact, but I was at this game or one of the ones in the series. It was the inaugural year for the Rockies and we visited Chicago to see the Cubs. I loved being there, never saw the broadcast. Great memory!

Man, I miss getting to watch Harry and Steve Stone. I'm a life-long Cardinals fan who grew up in Arkansas, so I couldn't get many Cardinals games on television until my dad bought one of those old, huge satellite dishes. But, when I was home alone during the summer in the eighties, I watched the Cubs any time they played a day game.
