Claude Heater is one of the best Tristans I have ever seen! I’ve been a big Jon Vickers fan mainly due to the CD set I’ve had since the 1980s or so, but Heater is a real rival for my affections after seeing and hearing him here. Most times I’m so disappointed with hearing a new Tristan. Thanks so much for putting the videos here! ❤❤❤❤❤

It's very difficult to tell the Tristan's voice apart from Kurwenal's. Pretty much a baritone singing high (well, higher anyways).

These two singers, why have we not heard more of them? This level of musicality and fine singing, ha! now it's usually all wobble and shout...I hope they are both alive, singing and passing on their great wisdom to some very very llucky students...the Isolde was totally unknown to me until this video. She sings it in her own deep musicality, clear sound and tenderness as it was written to be sung, and as I would hear it and do my best to do in my own ways. I come back often to listen to their version.. the other versions often pale in comparison. (and besides the tenor is a looker, which is nice as well!!)

This is Jesus in Ben-Hur.

He played the role of Jesus Christ in Ben Hur.. giving drink of water to Charleston Heston.. No speaking part nor his face was shown, yet still a very dramatic scene

It is still the best Tristan in my opinion, the actors are ideal for their roles. Still waiting for a really good dvd of this to appear.

Just discovered this amazing Isolde, why have we never heard of her? Only these videos on google and wiki, for instance...and sexy Claude, of course..

BRAVO!!!!, simply one the best ever!!!!, Huzzah "dear maestro"!!!!!BRAVOOO!!!!(you can see the great vocal technique of maestro heater, even if in this film, the pryor thing is his great acting; but the recording music is superb!!!!)

BRAVO!!!; if you check his voice from some years before, you can notice the weigth and dark color he has gained through his years of practice...BRAVO!!!!, his vocal color is the real "heldentenor" sound!!!, He resemles here all his talent (vocal, musical and acting, where he does remarkably weli; well with this wonderful "Isolde" in the wonderful voice of Jacqueline van Quaille, anyone would had felt in love with her!!!). For me one of the best Tristan und Isolde in both voices, and acting. This video is a "must" for any serious "wagnerian fan". BRAVOOO!!!!!!
