Backstory: My dad bought a Daphne Blue Fender Tom Delonge Stratocaster for me when I was about 15 years old. When I was 21 I sold it to pay rent. I’ve always regretted selling it. A few years ago my dad bought me a Squier Affinity Stratocaster at a yard sale, but it needed a bit of work to turn it into a player. Sadly, my dad passed away last year. A couple weeks ago I decided I wanted to remak...

    LOVE THE COLOR! I'm building my "Dream Strat" and Atlantic Coral is the color for me. I've bought 2 Telecaster bodies from Guitar Fetish and they are 100% perfect and beautiful, as good or better than any Fender. Also love the Fender decal, the critics crack me up. We could all be in a foxhole getting shot at right now...a decal is an issue? Good grief.....

      Hey, sure! I went with the neck pickup because I wanted a more versatile guitar. I do not play a lot of Pop punk music. The neck pickup has a dc resistance of 7.2K and the bridge is 16.8k (insane). The lower the resistance means the neck pickup will be more articulate, bright and responsive, which is what I needed. Hope this helps!

    Hi! Thank you so much for the video. Would you recommend buying this roaster to learn roasting or is there another one you would buy under $1000 if you could start again? I read that you upgraded after a year using the Kaldi Wide. Did you find that it has no more room for you to learn? I'm looking for a roaster that can help me learn as much as after a while, I can and have a micro business (selling to friends, work colleagues). If business goes well, I can jump into buying a commercial roasters (1-6kg ones). On the other hand, if things don't go as expected, I can just settle with the small roaster as a hobby.

      @@downonluck59 Thanks a bunch! I've been roasting with a skillet and a stainless steel strainer on top since the beginning of pandemic lock down. I've got good results. No scorched beans but it feels unlikely to achieve even roast. I've had good feedback from friends, even coffee shop owners which makes me want to venture more into the roasting business. The Kaldi Wide fits my budget perfectly because I don't want to invest too much at the beginning and as you said it's good enough for sample roasting so now there's more reason for me to buy. I considered the Gene and the Huky but there are some flaws with both options. In general, the Huky is too expensive and if I could afford it, I would rather save more and get an Aillio Bullet V2. John Quinn hey! Congrats! I actually received a standard US fitting from Johan a year or so ago. Much more safe now. From my understanding, all new North American units are shipped with this. You’ll still need to get a 0-20 PSI regulator hose. I ordered mine off amazon for $20. The regulator attaches to the tank and the hose attaches to the roaster. This is very similar to what I have. www.amazon.com/DOZYANT-Pressure-Propane-Adjustable-Regulator/dp/B01J63DYI6/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?dchild=1&keywords=0-20+psi+propane+regulator&qid=1594429124&sprefix=0-20+psi+&sr=8-3

    How long did this last you before it needed repairs or stopped working as new? Did the bearings ever get gummed up?

    • @downonluck59
      @downonluck59 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Z Carr I only roasted on it for about a year. Never had any problems, but I wouldn’t recommend roasting more than 4 roasts back-to-Back. Seemed like the motor would get hot.

    Where did you get the cap that replaces the funnel?

    • @downonluck59
      @downonluck59 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Taylor White It actually came with the roaster. I remember specifically asking for it in my email when I ordered, because it wasn’t listed as being included, but it was in the pictures.

    What is your bean cooler? I'm guessing it is some sort of fan pointing down, with some sort of sieve on top. Is that right? Ive been wanting to build something like that but have been unable to find the right sort of fan.

    • @downonluck59
      @downonluck59 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Taylor White pretty sure o was just a downward pointing exhaust fan. My dad is retired HVAC mechanic and got it at the parts store. Yeah, just a sieve on top.

      @@downonluck59 Nice. This is what I have been trying to do. I've been trying to find that part - a suitable exhaust fan - one that is wired to AC, at a good/cheap price. I can never find one that looks like this when I search home depot or Lowe's for exhaust fans, though !

      Taylor White yeah, just hit up a HVAC SUPPLY store. I’m sure they’ll have something that will work.

    nice video, please update on your experience roasting with CR600, I was planning to buy 1 for my future business, was it efficient in coffee roasting production?

    • @downonluck59
      @downonluck59 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      It would be a great sample roaster or roaster to learn on for a shop, but I feel it’s not meant to be roasted on, non-stop, back to back daily. You’d be better suited with at least a 5 kilo if you want to run a shop. I love my CR600 though. Perfect for my needs

    • @downonluck59
      @downonluck59 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you’re a few years from opening your business I’d highly recommend it. I’ve been roasting around 6 pounds a week (back to back) and could easily do more.

    So, I’m looking at buying this roaster, can I roast off of my stove in my kitchen? Is there a lot of smoke or not to back?

    • @downonluck59
      @downonluck59 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Alexander Olson you can roast using a gas stove. Might need an exhaust hood. Quite a bit of smoke.
