Webinar Recording: Best Practices for Financial Reporting to Funders
As CARTA continues to decentralize research capacity strengthening activities to partner institutions, there have been delays in accounting for funds sub-awarded to partner institutions which risks jeopardizing future funding of CARTA program. The concerns are basically two; timely reporting as is required by the funders based on contracts signed, and the reporting procedures of different projects as seen considering general accounting and the reporting processes for these institutions. This training seeks to enhance accounting and financial reporting skills and gain insight on current trend in funders requirements in accounting and financial reporting.

Field visit: The how and why of public health research
มุมมอง 766 หลายเดือนก่อน
Research is a process of drawing knowledge from and about aspects of life. Early on in the PhD journey, a field trip can teach students about ethics, research methods, data bases, quality control, the potential impact of research and respect for those they engage with "in the field". In this video, students learn how a Health and Demographic Surveillance System works by visiting the Iganga-Mayu...
Spiderweb: A learning game to map social and gender dynamics in health
มุมมอง 706 หลายเดือนก่อน
A group reads aloud a case study and - answering the question "But why?" at each stage - they identify the varied factors underlying the health and other issues in this life history. Using string, they spin a physical "web" of these intertwined factors. They take turns to propose strategies to address each factor and, in this way, thread by thread, they dismantle the web. Finally, they discuss ...
