    • @ThatDadMike
      @ThatDadMike 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I did not measure it exactly but approx 3.25 quart would be a rough guess. I am sure that amount will vary based on if the car has the transmission cooler and if it was under or overfilled at the factory. I think mine may have been slightly overfilled given the amount that came out before taking out the tube when the transmission was cold

    Thaank you so much! My wobbly head was overall fixed when I loosened the adjustment screw in the neck of the mixer. But I then found out that while doing so, my attachment height has increased and it doesn't quite "touch" the bottom anymore, leading to unmixed ingredients in the bottom. I know that adjustment screw is for adjusting the height of the beater, but now that I loosened it, the above problem occurs. The dime test doesn't pass. So, is there any way that I can fix this but at the same time the wobbly head also stays fine?

    • @ThatDadMike
      @ThatDadMike หลายเดือนก่อน

      Glad the video helped! I think it''s going to be a balance between an acceptable amount of wobble and how close the beater goes to the bottom of the bowl. Ultimately the adjustment screw is raising the motor slightly to sit tighter against the lock lever. It's plausible that a new lock lever may solve the problem but that is a more involved repair. I would see if you can find a happy medium between the wobble and the beater height before going deeper.

    Ok Mike just spoke to a customer service from KitchenAid lovely lady, but not crazy about her advice. She claims that you can’t put more than seven ingredients in my KitchenAid meaning that if I have 5 cups of flour, I have to cut it back down to three or four and a total of seven ingredients. I’m sorry not having ingredients 7 cups. OK also she said that I should not go higher than speed too, when needing dough is not really good advice and this is not gonna be helpful because most of them you have to do it at least by three because it goes faster, but I will try the two and I’ll let you know what Happens but I just thought I’d update you on what was going on here and I thank you for all your help, I’m not sorry that I changed the plate. At least I know it’s new now and I do like the stainless steel hook that I bought so dough hook that is OK so have a great day and keep up the good work thank youbye-bye

    • @ThatDadMike
      @ThatDadMike หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the update! I bet she meant 7 cups total. Let me know how it goes with a cup or so less flour. I agree, it needs to be on a higher setting. I think I use setting 3 and 4 the most with 4 cups flour and 2 cups water.

    Good morning Mike. Today is Friday December 20th. Making bread for the Christmas holiday. I have written before and did take your advice and changed the plate. Did not work. My bowl still locks. Did the dime test adjusted the head etc. I am on call for a call back from kitchen aid. Not liking their customer service. Keep switching me to another person. Anyway. I am considering purchasing another bowl. But truthfully they are so expensive. This is the second year for my Mixer. So it’s not old. And it has done this from the beginning. Oh sorry if it sounds like I’m complaining to you. But you did want an update. Have to say I had a farberware mixer and in my opinion it was much better than this mixer. Unfortunately my daughter lost it in the move. Ok thank you Mike for all your help. I will update on what kitchen aid tells me. Thank you again.

    • @ThatDadMike
      @ThatDadMike หลายเดือนก่อน

      Typically you will notice a decrease in performance or a machine that does not turn on. The brushes function to transmit power to the motor. In my case, the top several speeds were not working.

  • @grotemuis4889
    @grotemuis4889 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Thank you! Finally a useful video. What I didn't get is, when do you replace the motor brushes? My mixer is overheating, haven't even used it that much. Now I started baking rolls and I am wondering if 6 c of flour is too much for this mixer to handle. The bowl size is a KSM 150.

    • @ThatDadMike
      @ThatDadMike 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you! It is entirely possible that it is too much. Mine definitely gets warm mixing 4 cups of flour and 2 cups of water when making pizza dough if I run it for several minutes. I would recommend trying with 4 cups and see if that helps. If it does not it could be something else such as lack of grease inside the casing.

    • @ThatDadMike
      @ThatDadMike 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi there! Unfortunately I don't recall the amount of vertical space but what I do remember is that the chrome trim had a lip that sat inside the cabinet top and bottom. I bet that's why they are stating 16 3/16".

    • @TonyTTiger
      @TonyTTiger หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for all your help and helpful video. Quick followup…I installed the LG microwave (similar model but newer MSER2090S) with the same trim kit you had and had about 1/8” to 1/4” to spare above the duct on top. Fortunately I didn’t have to notch out the additional height. So 16 3/16” was just enough height.

    Oh my. I have been searching on the kitchen aid sight to fix this. Since I make bread of course I knead in my mixer. The bowl always gets stuck. Nit an easy fix for me have to wait for my son to come down and unlock. The sight said to do the “ dime test” Well that meant I had to adjust the height. Etc. did not work for the sticking. They suggested buying a new bowl. But I am old and so been around a while 😆. I thought well that’s an expensive purchase if not the trick. I thought about the plate and was going to see if and here you are suggesting that. Thank you so much. This will be my first purchase to try and fix this. By the way my bowl has done this from day one. My machine is only 2 years old. Think kitchen aid should have replaced it long ago. But of course they didn’t. Thank you. I will definitely invest in the plate.

    • @ThatDadMike
      @ThatDadMike 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Let me know how it goes! The way the bowl is designed, it uses friction to hold it in place. I definitely think they should change that design a bit because inevitably it's going to get stuck like yours and mine did do to wear.

    Good video, great job! As you pull out fluid, where do you stop? At the "MIN" line on the container? If so, what happens if you go lower? I mean how lower before air goes into the system? I must be missing something on the concept of preventing air going in - in other words, what will be the difference of removing below the MIN? The fluid is already covering the entire brakes lines, right? After all, when a liquid is poured, air is ALWAYS displaced/removed (well, not 100%....with minute pocket of air being trapped in)

      @ThatDadMike 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you! I usually take it down to where I can still see the fluid in the reservoir and then top up from there - the MIN line is correct. If you go down too far such as into the brake line, you will trap air between the fluid that remains and the new fluid you have added because there is simply nowhere for the air to be displaced.

    Uh...., you forgot the washer and nut that secures the arm to the guide pin.

    • @ThatDadMike
      @ThatDadMike 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think mine must have worn off and I will need to replace the guide pin next time it starts to act up. There were no threads on the guide pin above that would allow for the washer and nut.

    Thank you! I've been having problems with the pin slipping out from either side. I tightened that screw before over the past few years,but it didn't take long to loosen again. I've had bouncing and adjusted the screw. Sometimes the paddle was too low it seems. The biggest thing for me in which I'm excited about is the replacement motor brushes! I never knew about them. My mixer has been having a hard time going past number 6. It staggers and sounds strained. I am hoping it's the fix, because I have lots more baking to do. My mixer is 22 years old. I've never replaced any parts for it.

      I am right there with you, mine is over 20 years old now and had the same issue. The brush change fixed it, hopefully it does the same with yours! When you take out the old brushes, make sure and pay attention to the orientation of the side that has the 45 degree angle or it won't make contact with the motor and won't turn on (if you look in where the brushes are you can see a tab inside). Also don't over tighten the screws that cover the brushes, just slightly tight is all that is needed. Good luck!

      @ThatDadMike thank you for the extra tips! I'll tell ya, these Kitchen Aids were built to last. I'm so glad these little fixes don't cost an arm and a leg and are pretty easy to do. 😊

      @katdunn7934 me too! I have lost track of how many pizza doughs I have made over the years with it 🙂

    • @katdunn7934
      @katdunn7934 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @ThatDadMike I'm just getting into making pizza doughs. It's definitely easier in the mixer than it is by hand. Update: I made gingerbread cookies after tightening things. It bounces slightly, nothing like before, where it was sliding around on the countertop, and the pin stayed in place as well. 😊

    Are the brushes style different or standard size? My model is KSM150PSOB

    • @ThatDadMike
      @ThatDadMike 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      This is the part number that looks like it cross references to your mixer. Just check them with the ones on your mixer when they arrive. You can return them to Amazon if they are unused and not the correct ones: amzn.to/4hTYmft Also, when you take your brushes out, pay attention to where the angled side of the brush goes. If it's not oriented correctly it will not power on and you will have to take the brush back out and turn it the right way (I did this by accident when I repaired mine 🙂)

      @ThatDadMike Thank you so much for getting back to me. Unfortunately I found this out after I unscrewed the cap and the spring popped out 🫣. I also have a stripped screw that I can't remove on the other side 🫣🫣🫣

      Try to use a larger flat head screwdriver, a coin like a penny or dime, or a butter knife and see if you can get it to come loose.

    WHAT?! YOU CAN FIX IT THAT EASILY?! Mine has been wobbling for like 2 years and the pin just started popping out this month (duct tape was my temporary fix). So glad I can just adjust two screws and be done. Thank you so much!!! <3 :D

      Hello! The KitchenAid part number that I found is 3400203 however it is showing out of stock on Amazon. That size translates to this part by Hillman. The nice thing is if it's not correct you can always return them. Let me know how it goes: amzn.to/4gQvrId

    I’m about to reinforce my bed frame cuz it sucks. U think putting 2x4 is excessive?

    • @ThatDadMike
      @ThatDadMike 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Not at all. I think the material they use is terrible and if you can get a 2x4 to fit correctly I would go for it.

    Hi I loved ur tutorial. I was wondering would under car arrangement be the same on an old 2001 Highlander? I will look underneath to see if oil pan etc look the same but was again wondering if u new the arrangement of engine/oil part on a 2001. I look forward to watching more videos they are very good straightforward & include info & links in the description 🤗👍

      Thank you! I had a 2004 with the V6 and it was very similar. Yours may have a standard oil filter (not cartridge) which is a bit easier to change because you will not need the special tool - just double check to be sure.

    Careful with doing this. Check your states 811 laws first as removing these marks may be a crime, and may also make you liable for utility damages. Those marks are there for a reason.
