"Carbide" is shorthand for tungsten carbide. Tungsten *is* metal. Tungsten carbide is made by combining tungsten and carbon atoms. Somewhat similar to high carbon steel. So, your claim that carbide is not metal is not completely correct.
So stinking disappointed in this steam mop...only used a few times and pump is bad. Dumping the whole thing and going back to a Shark.
I was sceptical on how long it would last, I tend to abuse my chains, take risks and hit the ground once in a while and cut rotten trees, so I only bought one chain and it has out lasted about dozens of sharpenings and easily 3-4 standard chains. I've probably cut near 5-6 cords with the same chain, I just came back to this channel to see if it's sharpenable and I'm going to give it a quick touch up now that I read in the comments I can use my diamond wheel on it.
Do you sharpen it like you do any other chain?
requires a diamond wheel - some shops sharpen carbide. You can dress the edge with a diamond file. We sharpen our chain for $10-$16 plus 2 way shipping (depending on link count) - Pacific American Carbide
THEY ARE PITCHING LIES TO SELL YOU TRASH.
You guys should send some chains to Buckin Billy Ray Smith to compare. That guy knows more about chain and cutting than anyone and is great person to learn about anything cutting wood. Unless you show a sped up video of 2 new chains cutting cookies until the non carbide starts dulling and then show us up close of the cutters I don’t find this video very helpful. I’ve used Diablo’s carbide sawsall blades with great results so I have no doubts about the carbide cutting well. Teeth chipping or coming off or the metal they are fused to warps seems to be the most common failures in my experience. A video on how to sharpen the carbide or how repair/replacement works or when a chain is worn to unsafe use would be helpful to most of us. A few passes with the file on a standard chain and I’m back in business. A chains swap if I’m in a hurry isn’t that difficult. If carbide Is this good why don’t the big box stores have any offerings?
THESE LOOPS are AKA "Rescue'' loops due to being used by FD's for cutting through walls, doors, rooves- whatever, but they'll cut through screws, cable, wire, green board, drywall, pipes, nails, etc. pretty easily, quickly & repeatedly, as well as hot/burning/charred materials too. They're fast & reliable for the most part to boot!
So many things wrong with that video. Normal chains can and should be resharpened regularly. Like every other refueling, just give it two strokes with a file, this can be done dozens of times before the teeth are all filed away. Chain is razor sharp and saw is cutting excellent this way. Only time you need them to be sharpened by a machine is when you hit a stone or metal piece. Carbide chains are more expensive. Yes, they will stay sharp longer. But cannot be filed, so you will have to pay extra to have them reground. I tend only to use them for cutting dirty wood, wood with many nails in them or other materials. The main reason being that a perfectly filed normal chain - which is not hard to do with some practice - is cutting noticeably better.
When your chain is dull it puts out fine powder like, saw dust and it usually clogs up the bar where the oil comes through along with everything else your oil has to travel through
Bar oil dude
I can't believe the first chain used for comparison was sharpened properly. Therefore it wasn't a fair chain to use for comparison purposes. Regular non-carbide Stihl chain freshly sharpened cuts fifty times faster than that. The real reason to use a carbide chain has nothing to do with cutting "gnarly" wood. It's to deal with DIRTY wood that has sand, grit, small rocks stuck to it. Or to cut stumps very low to the ground.
Cheap blades. Like it was surface thought till it heated up then got soft and could never hold an edge. I had every means to sharpen them teeth and failed. Diamond grinders too. If I every see a man with a chain saw, I will tell him to save your wits, get a solid carbide saw chain.
Yeah man. I had a crappy poulan with your exact deal. Season ended and so did my helper. But just toward the end I thought to get a Solid carbide saw chain. It was a little more cost but what the hey. You will not have to sharpen every time you oops I hit the black dirt or hit a wire fence hidden in a tree. Should of could of but life and crap happened, business ended. I glad to see you found the perfect saw chain. Happy ripping through tough wood !!!
Totally misleading
Do you still sell the pump + instructions? Thank you
Show us how to replace it
The chainsaw is used to cut for hours and still looks new? A chain can only be sharpened 4 times? Why do I sharpen my chain easily 40 times with a file? A chain works for 15-30 mins only? Mine run for longer easily. Sorry, but this is nonsense.
the cutting edge hardness drops dramatically if the steel is subjected to high heat - about 250-500C - oil will start smoking at about 200C - so again - if your bar starts smoking, you likely are damaging the temper of the steel.

Hi Can you show with the suctioning?
Dude. We can see clearly that your oiler isn't functioning hence your poor chain being made to suffer. I know you want to sell chains and make a whole of of money but you gotta be more real man. Shameful display..
"We can see clearly" - funny, the chain was oily when I swapped it - and I still have that saw 10 years later.
Lol, might want to put bar oil in that thing, the factory fill is gone by now.
oil was filled before video - and chain is OILY, wood-chain friction causes the smoke. This chain is toast - resharpening is a waste of time
@@liberalidiot I can tell by the sound of the chain moving along the bar the chain is dry. This will overheat a chain and bar, both. Normally, if the wood isn't full of silt and mud (termite poop is silica), I can cut for hours with a normal chain before resharpening. If there's dirt (silica) this will dull the cutters quickly as in just one or two cuts. I cut the dirtiest wood last.
I’m definitely interested so if you don’t mind sending me a link to everything I need!👑👑👑👑👍🏻
Looks awesome man! How much did that whole set up cost?
Very simple to replace he said? HA! This was quite an ordeal and it didn't solve my problem. This is not an easy process! Save the hassle and take it in to be fixed.
Add a link to your eBay .so we can find it faster .please
I find the most important thing for extending the life of chainsaw chains is to make sure the oiler is not clogged and working properly. Otherwise, any chain will get destroyed in no time.
This video is pure BS I have taken apart my all in one as much as I can, way more than four screws and in way more 20 minutes later i’m sitting in parts and screws and still don’t see that part he has in his hand! For those of you were trying to take apart this same all in one, there’s a hidden screw behind the very top bissell emblem. There is no way this Is the real deal It has to be a scam! If it’s not then prove it show us how it’s done!
Noooo show me fix the leaking water tank fix
“CARBIDE? ONLY WAY TO GO!!!”... Bought two carbide tipped chains for my 18” Polan last winter and still using the same chain for this winter. I buy log length and generally cut and split about 30 face-chords/season (yes that’s 10 chords or full chords)....on the second season with this same chain and will probably not put a new (carbide) one on till spring. Would have gone through about 20 regular Oregon steel chains by now and many extra hours stopping to adjust stretch and touch ups (what most of you call sharpening)...this carbide chain gets a touch up after about a full days worth of continuous cutting (with a diamond embedded file of course) and stretch is minimal. Less maintenance/labor/down time....much more cutting time.....WELL WORTH IT for the price!!! FYI: I judge my time as worth the same as my work rate as a professional driver...that’s anywhere from $26.50 to $40.00/hr. So, much savings with the carbide tipped chain after all and the fast cutting/low heat up performance is outstanding!!! CARBIDE? ONLY WAY TO GO!!!
What/where do you get the files? I want to use grinding stones in my dremel. I am thinking about getting one of these carbide chains but I need to know where to get sharpening supplies.

@@pl747 LOL, you can't file carbide man, it's grind-only with it. Hit momo's up for the diamond grindstone
can you do a video on the handle
***BEFORE YOU BUY A NEW PUMP***If you don't hear a click when you press the handle there is a pretty good chance that you have a broken handle button. That's a much easier and less costly fix - pack of two for $5 on eBay -...There are 4 screws to take out to get to the connecting button and you don't need to completely pull the handle body apart to access the other two screws to replace the faulty connecting button.
Are you able to provide some additional info on this part? I believe this is the issue with mine, the handle just feels 'off'.
Can you help me with a part number or exact verbiage so I can buy this part on eBay? Having a hard time finding it. Our handle button is broken. Thanks!!
Your saw runs like s**t, and needs some major air/fuel screw adjustments, there, buddy. It would actually help the saw to CUT WOOD, if it were running correctly.
funny - cuts great with a used carbide blade. That saw ran for 3 more years - till I gave it away.
What a completely useless video.
REALLY? a video showing how to diagnose if the pump is bad is "a useless video" ?
Yea did me no favors lol. How does one replace the pump?
You advertise the pump but what you need to do is make a video on how to replace the pump. Then I'm pretty sure people will bye the pump quicker, including myself.
I totally agree. Wish it would show how to get to the pump
Don’t buy it. There are no instructions on how to replace it. And he still doesn’t give the instructions when asked. Waste of money
Is this the same pump used in the Symphony all-in-one Vacuum & Steam Mop?
My Bissell steam mop is leaking water out the back, what would cause that?
Could be too much pressure in the system and the relief valve is opening up. Or it could be that your heater outlet is clogged up.
@@Boom10ful mine is doing the same thing it is only about 6 months old. Any tips on how to fix it?
how do you replace it?
Yes how?
Need help mine won’t turn on just used it and shut off unplugged to move to other side of house now it won’t turn on
Hello - sorry, we were bought out by a repair shop (they bought 100 pumps) we are restocked - $24.99 shipped we provide a schematic showing what screws to remove - takes about 20 minutes total. if you HEAR or FELL the pump clicking/thumping, and no water - this SHOULD fix the issue. if you hear or fell NOTHING, you may have a different isssue
momo you don’t provide a damn thing. I got nothing but the pump. What the hell is up with that?
I just bought pump from your eBay store, no i didn’t receive any directions. Very frustrating as now I absolutely need it to work.
carbide - or tungsten carbide - and the other carbide materials, is not metal - its a hybrid with significant covalent bonding - and far less metalic bonding. This is the basis for deciding a 'metal' or non-metal. BS/MS Chemistry.
Tungsten (W) is under metals on the periodic table.
Tungsten is a metal. Tungsten carbide has carbide crystals embedded in the metal to form a metal edge = abrasive crystal to act more like a grinder.
Please show how to change the pump. Bissell says I can not do.
of course they say that - we provide a schematic showing what screws to remove on purchase

Has anyone bought the pump and it fixed the issue? Also where is a link to buy the pump
call us at 314-329-8553 - or via ebay www.ebay.com/itm/222550606977?
Ok mine clicks loud but never stops clicking.
yup - I'll bet the valve is bad - a new pump should fix the issue
So is the clicking the pump? Because mine keeps clicking and not working
Hello - if yer pump CLICKS but no steam that usually means the one-way valve is bad - this pump should fix the issue
I'd love to see how to replace the pump.
Hi - We have a schematic showing what screws must come out
momo how do I find this schematic?
its provided when you buy the pump
momo mine didn't come with one
did you buy the pump? what is the email address used to purchase?
$324 for the replacement pump?!! That's more than twice the price of a brand new bissell steam mop. This is nuts!
no, the pump is $24.99 shipped. we were out of stock - we have restocked on 1/29/2018
the add CLEARLY SHOWS - OUT OF STOCK -
Am I reading the price correctly of $324.99 for the pump replacement kit? I just bought a new Bissell Symphony Pet All-In-One Vacuum and Steam from Bed Bath & Beyond for $145.80 to replace my 1543 model that stopped steaming. I wanted to repair it (I always try to recycle) but unfortunately it was cheaper to replace.
sorry - price is $24.99
the add CLEARLY SHOWS - OUT OF STOCK -
Is pump in the foot?
remove the lower mop part, the pump is next to the heater in the very bottom of the mop body
not in foot, at the very bottom next to the heater. We have a schematic showing what screws must come out
Where do I locate schematicL
I looked on ebay and saw your page but don't see Symphony Pet steam vac pump?
