Using a Streamdeck for Live FOH Audio Control
มุมมอง 12K3 หลายเดือนก่อน
Using a stream deck in a live audio environment is limited only by your imagination, and willingness to want to control something for a useful purpose! In this video I show you a few ways I use the streamdeck to control aspects of my live audio setup to streamline repetitive tasks and enable control and functionality of hardware and software tools. Apps used for control in this setup: Bitfocus ...
How to setup Harrison Live Trax software with Allen & Heath D-Live integration via MIDI
มุมมอง 4.4K5 หลายเดือนก่อน
A quick run-through of how to setup the new Harrison Live Trax software with Allen & Heath D-Live, using midi to pull console channel names through to the DAW. The midi connection here will also allow you to use the Transport controls on the D-Live to control Live Trax! You can then also assign these to soft-keys on the console should you wish. When recording, it will also great markers in Live...

Rig Rundown (Dylan Mitrovich) - Allen & Heath SQ5 + Dante + LiveProfessor + UAD + Neural DSP Plugins
มุมมอง 58K3 ปีที่แล้ว
Using plug-ins in the live domain. In this video, I give you a quick rundown of the live sound rig I have been putting together during 2020, and its first ventures into venues in Jan 2021. Shot over 4 shows at the Corner Hotel in Melbourne, working with artist Ben Stewart as he performs songs from his band Slowly Slowly in solo-mode. These shows were an ideal way of taking the setup I had teste...
:). Funny i played in that club ,, and what ur doing is amazing, your mastering on the go :) i m sure you have quite expierence in DAW ,, The UAD are killer ,, now days it like being @home using Cubase or logic good times to live , i undersand your setup thanks for the show run mate ,, hugs from Malta .
Any chance for full videos????
Potentially!
Hey Mate, Please How did you set up your clocking?
Hey Dylan I wish you could do a companion and better touch tool video. i cant get the midi notes from companion to go over to BTT.
Plus one
Noted!
which monitors are you using? like your setup
The brand is Innocn
He is using this in a basic way but it’s exactly what he needs to shorten his workflow. I like 👍
The mouse pad rug. Nice touch.
The Mouse has a name.... Aladin
What a genius setup! And I love the fact that you are willing to share your knowledge on this topic. Great stuff!
Very clean setup. Love the workflow. Thanks for sharing!
Awesome video. Really interested in more like this. Curious what model those monitors are? I’m looking to build a smaart/playback rig
I get sooo many questions about to screens but they are unfortunately discontinued!
Sorry if this is a boring question: When you recall the scene to flip your soft keys from Mons to FX, is it only the soft key changes that get recalled on that scene? everything else stays as is?
I would assume it's not necessarily a scene change that's happening on the console, but rather a programmed action through the dlive's midi-functionality. In that case that midi change could be "safed" and would therefore not be impacted by regular dlive scene changes :)
Yes it’s a scene that just recalls soft-keys :)
Dylan have you ever tried Keyboard Maestro? I use it heavily to automate a ton of repetitive tasks with minimal to zero user interaction. Cool software. Also I didn’t realize Better Touch Tool had come so far. I’ll have to look at it again.
whoa!
Love this dude
Have you thought about/looked into using VICREO Listener for navigation MacOS?
Oooh - thanks for the tip. I’ll give it a look :)
wow that's amazing
Nice! Any chance you might share your Companion config file?
Awesome set up!! Wow…so cool…
Woo, that was so great! wondering how your mouse and keyboard can control two Mac Minis at the same time
So many nuggets of into missing from this video… that app is called Synergy. It’s installed on both machines and connects over the network. The mouse swipes between the two computers, and the keyboard is active on whichever the mouse cursor is currently on 🤓
Do you do consulting? Thinking I could use up to 5 hours of consulting. I’m in Las Vegas. Thanks. Jim Kegley.
Excellent use of today’s tech for live shows. Well done!
It is rare to find a FOH engineer that goes down into the technical detail....Keep going deeper!! Thanks
thank you for the video. Great content...keep them coming....i am getting ready to upgrade to dLive....How many inputs are you bringing into the console? I'm very interesteed in your streamdeck setup to the dLive......mainly, for starters, how you setup and programmed the the soft keys to make more. That is very useful.
Depends on the artist… usually somewhere between 30-60 input channels (including talk mics and utility channels) I’m using the Streamdeck to fire a scene which will recall a different set of soft keys. I also use it with the IP8 fader wing to recall different bands etc - same process. The command fires a scene in the D-Live to recall ‘something’
I don’t know the band for which you’re mixing, and that’s not really my thing, but it obviously allows for a lot of creativity. It can’t be that easy to make a coherent mix with the clips I heard, but you are doing it well. I love watching people do great work regardless of the style.
What is the UAD accelerator used for? How necessary is it to have it?
What are the benefits of having a Dante PCIe card? I'm a beginner at this but I'm interested in learning. I have a SQ7 console and a Dante SQ card
Woah. this is like a lighting console programming.
Hello everyone, I use the Focusrite RedNet PCIeNX card and a Mac Mini to use audio plugins with LiveProfessor in my Dante network. I also use an Allen & Heath Avantis with a Dante card. Sending audio from the Mac Mini (RedNet PCIeNX card) to the console is no problem. But when I send the signal from the console to the Mac Mini and back to the console I always get feedback on the audio. I suspect that the audio settings on the Mac Mini are not correct. Everything works fine with Windows. Can anyone help me here? Thank you very much. Best regards Adrian
DUDE!! That shit is rad! I'd love learn your skills. Thank you!
Can’t thank you enough for being the only one with a vid on this rn 👏👏
Well... I tried to make it work this morning. DAW via Dante, no problem. MIDI... no joy. I can see the AH MIDI receiving midi data (if I move a fader), but not transmitting.
Thank you 😊
EXCELLENT <3
Thanks
Great video, What brand and model did you use as your touch screen monito?
I met you long time ago in Australia, <3 good to see you on this video!!!
first of all thank you for such a deep dive into this, was absolutely insightful! I just wonder if it's possible to send>Rtrn via USB slot (instead of dante) and use logic X as processor host? Cheer's dylan, definitely subscribing to you!
Looks nice, but what’s your total round trip routing and are you sending every channel into the love profession, as there’s no delay automatic delay compensation on the inserts at the sq series. As far as I know ✌🏼
Would like to hear it in action with tapping audio from the mixer
Thanks for sharing. I’m just a little bit confused. Does A&H allows group to group patching ?
I imagine Dylan is returning those groups to a pair of channels and then routing those out to the master drum group
How much pre-show time did you have for building the midi triggers and mix?
how to patch all of that ?
Awesome video, dude. It's amazing how much live sound has changed over the years.
Love your shit mate😍
"aaam"
I see a Reaper user, I Subscribe!! good stuff
Man - that DAW is insane with the amount of functionality. Got a workflow problem? Yeah, just create a solution. Crazy.
@@dylanmaudioexactly! Your mind is the limit with Reaper. I've been having so much fun with the CSI 3.0 extension and customizing how my X Touch integrates with custom actions
NL mix is excellent live, you do a great job 🤘🏻🔥
That delaythrow on the vocal was insane!
Thanks for this vid mate! Very informative.
Mixing live is crazy
