I hope you like to drive at night if you are coming over to the dedicated south east. Welcome to the dark side 😂. Keep the videos coming I’m a new subscriber. Stay safe out there driver
Who do you work for southeast?
@@CoachDusty Perdue. Is there another south east region account?
I also drive for Stevens Transport. I should have mentioned that first.😂
Never a dull moment 😅.. that 10 hour detention was well worth it Good job babe ! 😘
I’ve been solo for a months and only have driven 18 hours other than that my truck has been broken down all for the same reasons broke down 4 times
That’s rough man! Make sure you’re getting your breakdown pay
That's crazy they pay for parking. How often will they reimburse? I like to start early & finish early because of parking
As much as you need. I probably have to get reserved parking once a week. Depends on appointment times and when I finish for the day
super excited will be coming to stevens transport after i graduate roadmaster seems the target time is nov 8th will know more this week
Welcome bro!
@@CoachDusty see you around sometime maybe man Love your videos they are very good insight on things
So does the company say anything is you go off course to the gym, because of the diesel?
No we get variance miles for every load
@@CoachDusty Thanks for the reply. With that said, I don’t know if you have or haven’t, but can you do a video on how it is to share the truck for the six weeks of training. This is one of the things that seem difficult if the trainer is not clean and you have to be in such a small space together.
I was in New York picked up a load of generators and cables took to Tampa Florida that load paid $4500.00 for fema then made $500.00 a day just moving stuff around for them
Stevens is a horrible company and their cut throat. They will also falsify documentation on your driving record so it makes it extremely hard to get another trucking job if you leave them. They micromanage you, and they will be calling you throughout the day while you're on your load. Even if you're sick, sleepy, or dealing with a family emergency, they don't care at all. All they care about is the truck rolling. The DM's are awful too. Anyone considering Stevens, trust me, don't do it!!!!
Wow you didn't ask for a referral 😆.
im still in school (roadmaster) and was just pre-hired by stevens transport today! will know tomorrow when my orientation date will be! lets fukn go
Did you sign a contact with them when you first started in orientation? I start December 1st I want to be fully aware
You sign a loan for the cdl school
I liked the video!
I would have like to have seen the food.. rotissery chicken and rice. Where'd you get that Rotissery chicken? I get one from Sams whenever I go there.
The issue is that many people are trying to treat the trucking industry like a typical 9-to-5 job, except for local driving. Over-the-road trucking is a unique lifestyle and is not suited for everyone."Everything you do in life is shaped by your own experiences. You can't rely solely on what others have gone through; your journey is unique. Regardless of the profession, there are always pros and cons to consider, including retirement. Trucking offers a valuable opportunity to get out of debt, save money, and live rent-free. Most importantly, it's vital to have clear goals and maintain a healthy budget. If you're considering a career in trucking, don’t do it just to build your TH-cam following. Instead, focus on embracing the freedom, the travel, and the financial rewards that come with reaching your goals.
Good stuff Dusty
Good stuff Jay
Hello, nice to meet you! I'm a truck driver here in Brazil, I travel long distances between Brazil and Chile. A single trip averages 20 to 30 days. Do you also go on long trips? Here we earn an average of $450.00 per week!
ele ganha bem mais (e não.. ). Como ele falou no video, ele pega uma carga durante um dia e entrega no próximo dia
Good video keep them coming out
Well turn the truck on to run the A/c
I Jumped in a year ago and I work as a contractor with a moving company
I have this you can check the day and it works fine. I am playing Fortnite in my truck right now.
Your internet or video keeps cutting out
I know we get black ice in the South too. I hate that stuff!
I got to thinking about this a few weeks ago cause the company has been sending me to a lot of places where I see "Ski area/resort" signs. I"ve driven a car in the snow; that was already hard enough. I put in for a dedicated - southern US position and got approved. I don't have the experience requirement for the companies I'd like to go to so I had to find something at the company I'm at. It looks like it could be a small pay cut, but that's piece of mind for me.
Sounds like a win to me. Trade offs are a payoff
Also im unemployed oilfield and getting pretty bored also tired of spending my savings on bills....
Doesn't Steven gurantee 1k so with weather shutdown you'd still get at least 1k. Im thinking about it to live in truck and invest heavily in voo,eth for 5-10yrs then move thailand they got nice 200-300 condos and plenty of 304's
Damn I'm doing the same thing kind of.. what's your target amount you want to put in, and how much you need monthly from passive
I start CDL school next month, then i was already hired at Stevens. So i will be doing my training during Dec. I was second quessing doing training in those months but I do need the experience. Your thoughts?
No we do training all year round. It will be better for you to go through those months with someone by your side.
@@CoachDusty Thank you. Appreciate your response 👍
I’ll be damned if a broker makes more money then me or the same
Roehl does a hair drug test, do you know if Stevens transport does hair follicle in 2024/2025 ? Because waiting 3 months is killing me, my transmission in my car went out and I still owe on the car, and I owe my family, it's so hard for me right now living off my mom at 27. I'm ready to start a new life.
I had one of these. The most useless item on the market and God forbid you have to call customer service. That's an experience you don't want. Much better product is their hot spot device. Stay away from this junk.
Trucking is stressful and annoying af.
T-Mo now has a internet to go plan which you might want to switch to...That $50 plan is going to be restricted soon to that home address that you signed it up for...fyi
Heck, no, the trucking industry is terrible.
Every rookie has to make a video
I'm an avid gamer myself and trying to get my CDL. I play games like PubG and Sc2. I also don't want to lose aiming skills driving OTR =D when I game I mostly use keyboard and mouse. I haven't really seen any setups where people play fps games that require a mouse surface. Also I want to play games like Gran Turismo but again its probably too tight in the back to have a steering wheel setup/ desk / gaming chair lol...especially in a company truck. I saw a guy with a flight simulator setup in his cab he uses a product called Couchmaster Cycon^2 that acts as a surface for your mouse and sits in your lap.. that might be the solution! I might just have to settle for games you play mostly with controller if I ever make it OTR. Definitely gonna be looking at gaming laptops..I think that makes more sense out on the road! Be safe out there!
Good vid. I was wondering is it true if you are consistently early on loads, the dispatch will give you less time? I dont want that, i want to relax a bit as a reward of getting there early
Noo not true.. meat and produce loads usually have less time on them but it’s nothing to do with how you drive
I watched all 27 mins by the way
Duo 🥹
Very informative
Great video!
Tried to purchase one but t-mobile said it’s now geo-locked to your home address or whatever address you put.
What is the price for the best tier health insurance they have? And is it any good? I’m working on getting on board with them in Dallas.
I forgot, How long do you stay out??? I"m thinking about subbing to Walmart+ so I can get products brought out to me at truck stops or rest stops. I really do not like bobtailing to Walmarts cause so many things can do wrong
I have no problem parking behind Walmart to grocery shop. I stay out 3-6 weeks at a time.
You mean wrong with the trailer, if that’s the problem invest in a kingpin lock. It’ll save you more money in the long run.
I wanted that Tmobile plan, but I don't really have a real home address. What I DID get about a month ago was a little wifi hotspot unlimited 4G - no 5G) for $15/month. Downloads are slower than I thought they'd be, but it's better than most Wifi networks I was using. At least now I'm not dependent on McDonalds for their internet for game updates🤣
I drove for about 6 years, any company in that field, sees the drivers and a huge liability and have been holding anybody that comes on in front of the bus, waiting for any little thing to drop ya. And that's just a fraction of the problems with driving anymore. Ya'll can have that bs.
Ive been with Stevens for about 1.5 years. I went out from January 1st to August 23rd. 8 months. The only thing i ask of my company is give me my 34 hour breaks. As long as I have those I can run and run and run.
When you need a 34 is your decision
You've toughed it out with Stevens for a while. Longer than most drivers. I know Crete and Davis Express have terminals in Florida. I know Davis stays in the Southeast. Both are good companies for experienced drivers. Stay safe. Always do what's best for you.
99% of truck drivers ive encountered look as if theyre the most unhealthy people ive ever seen. id be shocked if most of them live past 70.
No.
No.
Temporarily... Sure, as a career.... No chance run.
What up bro I’m just finishing with my trainer heading to grad school in a few days. Just wondering what type of miles should I be expecting? I plan on being out 7 weeks at a time to get the full week when I do go home.
2000-2500 average
@@CoachDusty also I’m trying to continue going to the gym how do you do it? Do you park your truck at the gym then move to a truck stop or just Uber over? How do you plan it?
I find planet fitness on my route line then satellite view the lot to see if I can park around back for a couple hours. Never for a 10. Sometimes I Uber yes.
