You should march for an open class drum corps or a college band before a world class corps like the crown, if you dont have any marching experience besides high school they likely won't accept you.

the whole corps uses system blue ive heard bad stuff about them though so dont buy it and you can find much better euphoniums for a cheaper price
@@bun-bun5623 They used just standard System Blues in 2018 and 2019. They’re using King System Blues in this videos which are nice.

Try using more air or trying slowing down your vibrato

Any tips for note accuracy playing those fast passages like flight of the bumblebee? I can play at decent speeds doing something like an improv jazz solo on bone/trumpet where it’s all off the top of the head but when playing off a written passage I tend to miss/smear lot of the in between notes runs and things like that.

What euphonium do you use I’m in 6th grade and I’m switching to euphonium soon and the school gives me a euphonium to use at the school but not to practice at home. I need a cheap one to buy
Wessex euphs are solid at around 1700 USD. I own one and I prefer it over a 7000 USD horn
Why can't you just ask your band director if you can borrow the euphonium to take home and practice with on the weekends? I'm pretty sure most schools do that; I bring my school one home very often.

Is it really hard to get into the blue devils for low brass? I just turned 16 and an thinking of trying out next year or in two years. I play trombone in a really up there jazz band (JLCYO), but have never been in a drum corps or marching band. I can pick up motions very quickly because I did dance but I don't have any prior experience with marching. Also, I am mainly a bone player, so how's the adjustment to euphonium? In 8th grade I picked up a baritone and was able to play it well, but honestly flight of the bumble bees scared me a bit.
Hello! Congratulations, I’m sure they’re great. Auditioning for the blue devils can be quite the challenge for someone who has never marched or has experience marching in an outside marching band. A lot of what we do at the blue devils isn’t taught, the staff expects performs to already have a strong fundamental knowledge of what we are doing in order to achieve at such a high level. Of course it is unquestionable that the staff at blue devils teaches at a high level however they don’t teach much fundamentals. As it’s expected, being a member of the blue devils that you already know and have a good foundation and fundamental knowledge of what you are doing. Auditioning for experience is never a bad thing, so I encourage it!

How different is between baritone and euph??
It’s the same instrument. Just one is a little heavier
Also the euphonium has a more rich yellow sound and the baritone is brighter, its similar to the difference between a trumpet and a flugel horn
Euphonium has a conical bore and baritone has a cylindrical bore which means the euphonium has a warmer sound than the baritone

I used to play trombone in 6th grade then i played percussion full till 8th grade and started to play trumpet as a secondary and i am going to be full time trumpet next year so
