I wonder for a nail size hole, do I still need the coin size patch glued on first or the filler can be directly welded on in this case ?
Hi 👋 yes you could definitely weld directly to the job without a patch, adding a patch is just another option 👍
How much This machine in india.whish location parchase this machine.
Hi 👋 the welding machine is a "Leister Triac-ST" you can buy from eBay around £150 for a used machine. For a brand new machine it will cost £350 - £400 www.google.com/shopping/product/1?q=leister+hot+air+gun&sca_esv=281e988bd194038a&hl=en-GB&tbs=vw:l&sxsrf=ADLYWIII5UibH-6GTbcR6QM4GnYJCpiTSg:1731591001608&prds=num:1,of:1,eto:16932870982591667251_0,prmr:1,cs:1
@Allkraft, nice work Can you share how to make tube with 616 mm diameter from plastic sheet ?
@ankywibowo Hi 👋 thanks for kind comment! you want to fabricate 616mm diameter from flat sheet ?
@allkraftdesign6120 yess… can you give me the best method to fabricate the cylinder? I’m planning to use PP sheet with 8 mm or 10 mm thickness
Hi, so if you want to roll 616mm then 10mm or 8mm will be too thick to roll, you will probably need to drop down to 4.5mm, to get the length of the sheet when flat take: diameter + sheet thickness × pi = flat sheet dimension (616 + 4.5 × 3.142 = 1949.6) this will give 616mm inside the cylinder or (616 - 4.5 × 3.142 = 1921.3) this will give you 616mm outside the cylinder. I would weld both inside and outside so chamfer both ends on each side to take the filler rod, underneath is a link where 3mm thick polypropylene sheet is rolled to approximately 400mm diameter, if you need anymore info please ask

@@allkraftdesign6120 nice… I’ll try to forming then give the update… Thanks..
Nice one mate weld is spot on but did it weaken the upper plate were it broke
Hi 👋 thanks for the kind comment! Applying heat to materials sometimes plays a part in weakening, PVC is super brittle, it was always going to break hitting it with a big hammer, breaking down near the weld I think was the most natural place for it to go, thanks again for watching!
Great video! Could you provide links to the products used? Thank you in advance.
Hi 👋 thank you for the very kind comment! The link below should get you any filler rod materials you need: hilltop-products.co.uk/searchanise/result?q=pvc%20welding%20rod The plastic scraper used in the video is custom made, the link below will show you how to make it: th-cam.com/video/foiB_TJXs4k/w-d-xo.htmlsi=s1Gi7TrL1o3Gi9Ap The heat gun is a "Leister Triac-ST" they're going for around £100 second hand, brand new they're quite expensive around £300-£400, they're the best quality plastic welding torches on on the market, hope that's helpful! Thanks again for watching

Free handed too??
Crazy it’s just like a fillet weld in metal. You should double bevel the end that contacts the base piece. Then fill in the bevels along with the other layers you did here. It’d be even stronger but maybe overkill.
Hi, thanks for the comment! Definitely a great idea to double bevel for certain applications to get fusion through thickness of sheet and add some extra strength to the job👍 thanks again for the comment!
Impressive! Good job! Do you know which temperature is required for that ? Im trying to weld HDPE and use a hot air gun that has variable temperature but it's different from yours. Thanks!
Hi 👋 thank you for the kind comment! The welding temperature of hdpe is around 300°C. When to much heat is applied to Polyethylene it starts to look wet around the heated area so if that happens just turn the temp down a little, if the filler rod hasn't got a nice bead of melted material along both sides then you can turn the temp up a little. Hope that's helpful for you, thanks again for comments!
Can you use the same technique when doing polypropylene?
Hi, yes you can definitely use the same technique with polypropylene, its more common to speed weld polypropylene but when welding small intricate pieces or small diameter pipe it comes in really handy to manually weld. Thanks for the comment!
yo bro got a link for the epoxy you used?
Excellent Video and great skill. Can this process be used on a modern acrylic bathtub with a hairline crack?
Hi 👋 thank you for the kind comment! Good question🤔I've fabricated and welded acrylic sheet (usually the transparent stuff) but never tried welding an acrylic bathtub, not sure if they have some kind of coating on the surface which would make any thermosoftening plastic difficult to weld, surface repair technicians would typically be used on this type of issue. Sorry I can't be more helpful. Thanks again for the very kind comment 👍
Fantastic! How much would you charge for this and what areas do you cover?
Hi 👋 apologies, I don't repair upvc windows for a living, the video was just a bit of an example or guide for work that can be done with a plastic heat gun. I do know someone who is based in the midlands area who can repair window frames and all kinds of other surfaces! I can pass his details on if that is any good to you. Thank you for the kind comment!
@@allkraftdesign6120 It looked like a professional job to me! I am based in London, so if you know someone.. :-)
Yeah, baddy! It's very interesting content! I like it! 👍
Hi. What a king of plastic? Pp?
Один вопрос: ЗАЧЕМ???
Thanks so much for the video…what we’re you using to seal up the patch /to make the bead (I have a nice size hole in plastic that needs patched)
@jasonm106 hi 👋 thank you for the comment! The brand of heat gun is called - Leister and the model is the Triac-ST, the filler rod is Pvc, you can get 3mm diameter or 5.7mm - 3 core which is fairly chunky stuff. Thanks again for the comment!
I want to plastic weld a 12mm PP board to a thin, unknown thickness but thin, PE. Is this possible using the technique you demonstrate? Does the temperature need to be lower due to the thin PE? Any other guidance appreciated, I am wanting as strong a structural bond as possible and reasonable. Great work and very informative. Thank you in advance.
@CajunPat Hi 👋 thank you for the kind comments! PP & PE are two different types of plastic and won't fuse together no matter what temperature you set the welding torch at, glue wouldn't work either, the only thing I can think of is to pin them using screws. Sorry I can't be more helpful!

Useless pointless video no voice over and I could repair that a quarter of the time it's simply filling a angle grinder supported on both sides try an edging strip repairs on a cill the same way.
Hi Steve 👋 thanks for the comment! repairing a crack/gap like the one in the video to the same quality finish in a quarter of the time, I would love to see that video. Thanks again for the kind comment. 👍
Very interesting, I think I'll give it a try.. BTW what is the wattage of hot air glue gun you are using? Thank you for the video
Hi, apologies for the delayed reply! The welding gun is 110volt and 1600watts, thanks for watching the video, hope you enjoyed! Happy welding.
What is the appropriate temperature for welding work?
Hi, for polypropylene it's around 280°C, if you're not getting a good uniform amount of melted material along the side of the welding rod turn the temp up a bit, if lumps of melted material are forming along the side or material is spitting out onto the surface then the temp should be dropped, hope that's helpful! Thanks for the comment.

I have been doing this job in Singapore for more than 10 years.
I have seen that the scorching technique is not very good
This is awesome video, where can you buy the scraper, that's exactly what I need to remove some double sided tape from a upvc window. Thanks
Hi, thank you for the kind comment! The scraper from the video is a bespoke made tool, I'm not sure you can buy them off the shelf, I haven't seen one yet. There's a link below on how to make the scraper, if that's not your thing I could make one for you 👍 I would have to order the material to make it. th-cam.com/video/foiB_TJXs4k/w-d-xo.html
@@allkraftdesign6120 Thank you for the kind offer, im going to give it a go with a scraper off of amazon, it'll be inferior but might just do the job.
No probs, Happy to help, Good luck with the pvc work! Thanks again for watching the video.
👍🙌 thank you for ur videos ^_^ the plastic welding is mad rad !!
Hi 👋 thank you for the kind comment, glad you enjoyed!
Not just inventive but craftsmanship to boot, and I love that it's all made from the same material too. Plastic is a marvellous material when put to use correctly, and its industrial..... you won't find any of these in the stomach of a fish
Hi, Thank you for the very kind comment!
Impressive!
Thank you!
Some fine craftsmanship right there, and some sleight of hand Penn and Teller would be happy with.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed 👍
I don't know what's better, the design and construction of the pump or the cleverness of the video editing.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed!
Looks like PEHD to me.. Anycase, good looking weld! Good speed, Nice temp, very steady pressure, steady hand. Everything in perfect order! Good work, this is how we make plastics a solution instead of problem!
Good looking weld! not too hot, not too cold, good welding pressure. It may fail after 100 million years or so but that is just normal.. :D
Very nice indeed! Good movement, no smoke. As a polywelder, I will approve this as a actual weld! 😊

Hi 👋 do you mean for a welding torch? If so you can purchase one second hand for around £100
Well done!
Thats impressive
Awesome just added a liester 1600w type s to the tool box thx for sharing
Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed.. Happy welding 👍
This is actually not the best way to do this. Normally you'd use a heated butt tool welding process. the welding tool has a male part for the PP socket and a female part for the pipe. you push the PP parts in the male and female sides for a certain amount of seconds (see table), pull out and the inset the pipe in the flange part. also called socket welding (freely translated).
Hi, Thanks for the comment! your 100% right its defo not the best way, the video was just showing that socket fusion isn't the only option for joining plastic pipe. Thanks again for comment👍
To whom it may concern: this is actually pretty impressive in my 15 years of welding PE, PP, PVC (U&C), PVDF, PA ans so forth, with all kinds of welding processes I have seldom seen this done so well in this way. really impressive craftsmanship! I have only 1 remark, are you sure it was 9mm plate? I think it prolly was either 10 mm or an imperial dimension.
Hi, thank you very much for the kind comments! The PVC is definitely 9mm, pvc sheet thicknesses we use are usually 3 , 4.5 , 6 , 9 and 12mm occasionally we us 20mm & 25mm for some fabrications. Thanks again for the comments!
