i made this for myself, thinking about how frenchie's on ed's new crew breakup boat and remembering they had at least a handful of interactions before the season finale, wondering if there was enough there to fill a video, and sure enough yeah i got at least 3 minutes here... idk if they'll even do much w jim and frenchie being on blackbeard's heartbreak cruiser next season but if they do then this video will be cool to look back on. i'll look a little bit smarter even

Why does the main guy have a New Zealand accent? There were no Pirates from New Zealand. Let me guess, the makers were all Yanks? I've never heard of any Irish Pirates either, but Hollywood Pirate movies always have them. Meanwhile actors who have one of what must surely be over a hundred different accents that originate from England miss out on parts, because Yanks aren't familiar with them. The South West of England is where most real Pirates came from.
The creators are well aware of that. They weren't going for historical accuracy. It's a romantic comedy loosely based on reality. No need to overthink it.
You've never heard of any Irish pirates? May I respectfully suggest that your knowledge of piracy could stand to be enlarged? Grace O'Malley, the "Pirate Queen", was as Irish as her name suggests and was one of the most successful pirates in history. Ireland has been an absolute hotbed of piracy going back at least as far as 400 AD. St. Patrick himself was once abducted by Irish pirates.
Babe the show is literally about Stede Bonnet and Blackbeard falling In love. Historical accuracy isn't the intention

must be stated on the record that the scene where izzy's telling the revenge crew about how ed's doing and frenchie asks "so he's sick, but doing well, is..the news..?" that also counts to me
My theory is that in season 2 Frenchie is going to take Lucius’s place as a confidant/therapist friend for Ed because Ed trusts him so much, especially after the fancy party. I just think that they have such a nice relationship and Frenchie has the emotional intelligence and the ability to be honest yet gentle that he can be genuinely helpful to Ed as Ed has to deal with everything going on in his mind
Honestly it wasn't until I watched this vid that I realized that he and BB had some kind of rapport, love the subtlety of their relationship and I def think he kept him alive for reasons other than sewing!

The singing scene in episode 9 or 10 not sure is so hilarious and the Frenchie/Ed dynamic is so funny to watch in this particular scene
The Frenchie/ Ed dynamic is underrated. I'm sure Ed kept him alive for a reason other than being able to sew. Some mutual respect there for Frenchie's survival instincts and how he views the upper class.
