Hello! quick question; The last 2024 UKFP guideline state that the deadline of qualification from med school was 3rd October however they want a PLAB1 booking confirmation by 31st August. How can one get the booking confirmation before qualifying as you cannot open a GMC online account without qualifying?
Mishka, you are a great teacher too!
Salamat maganda!
Jesus!!! This is complicated!🤨
Hii do you have any sample dean statement for ukfp
Hi there! You should be able to see the most up to date template here: foundationprogramme.nhs.uk/programmes/2-year-foundation-programme/eligibility-information/eligibility-applications-ukfp-what-you-will-need/deans-statement/ Be sure to check if that's the Dean's Statement for the UKFP year you're applying to as it is updated every year. Your application might be rejected if you upload the wrong one! I hope this helps!
Hello ma'am. I was able to get dean's statement for approving 75% patient interaction was in English. Do I have to write IELTS/OET ? Please reply.
Hello there! I also graduated from the Philippines and I am planning to start the UKFPO next year. I am hoping to use the dean's statement as proof of English as the eligibility window would soon be opened. My school is not on the list as well. What exactly was your situation? Was it that UKFPO rejected your dean's statement as proof of English, or you sent them an email and they said they won't accept it, so you had to take the IELT? what was the actual scenario? Cause as you said, GMC and UKFPO are separate bodies. Who makes the call? . Did you get the 7.5 in all domains for ukfpo? Your response would be really appreciated to make an informed decision.
Hi there! Just saw your comment! At the time, the GMC stated that one of the types of evidence they could accept for English competency was a letter from the university/Dean stating that the curriculum was taught in English. I had asked my university to help me with this in order to avoid taking IELTS. I had used a similar format that was stated in the Dean's Statement of the UKFP. When I sent this to the GMC, they rejected this evidence on the grounds that English is not the first language of the Philippines. They apologised to me that this was not explicitly stated on their website or in their emails. I then decided to take the IELTS to garner a score of 7.5 minimum in all domains out of fear that the UKFP would have similar rules. The UKFP did not explicitly express to me at the time that they would reject my Dean's Statement as evidence, and simply referred me back to the Eligibility Handbook stating that their requirements differ to that of the GMC. I hope this helps!
Hi doc.. Love to hear any updates of your journey as doctor in UK? I'll be having my PLAB 1 Exam this August 2023..
This is the video i had been looking for. Thanks alot!!
Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad you found this helpful!
Hi how many years of clinical gap after graduating from medical school allowed if I haven’t done my internship and want to apply for FY1?
Wanted to know the same
Hi there! Just seen your comment. I had an entire year as a clinical gap, however I explained this in my application for provisional registration to the GMC that I was preparing to apply for the foundation programme as well as taking/preparing for the PLAB exams. I think the GMC website has the updated answer regarding unexplained clinical gaps. Thanks!
What if someone fails PLAB 1 ? Would they get F1 Passing certificate? Can they do F1 ?
Hi there! You will have to first take PLAB 1 and PLAB 2 exams in order to apply for provisional registration with the GMC. Provisional registration is a mandatory requirement in order to start FY1, and evidence of this will be asked for by UKFPO throughout the application process. Hope this answers your question!

What does it mean one sitting of oet test ? Means we have to do it once and score ? Pls can you clarify
Hello, I have passed both the PLAB examinations, however GMC has refused to provide me full registration because of insufficient documents and has instead suggested me to go for Provisional registration. I would like to ask if I need to go through the eligibility application in order to get the provisional registration? If not then what is the required English proficiency score to get the provisional registration? Thanks
Hi Mischka, Planning to Apply to UKFPO as well and need a 7.5 in all Categories. Care to share the Resources you've used to achieve it?
Hey pretty.. One question I’ve already gave ilets for the admission in masters course in the uk which is 6.5 band now I’m doing masters in the uk. Now want to book plab exam, so still I’ve to give ilets or ive to show to the gmc my previous ilets with postgraduate tutor reference cause I’m studying in the uk already.. Thanks in advance
Hey pretty.. clear my doubt please. If Non English speaking mbbs Doctor do master’s in the uk, so ilets requirements for the plab booking will be exempted or not ?
Hi there! I just finished medical school in August 2022 and my decision to work abroad begins in November 2022. Therefore, I am already late to apply for next year. In regards to the dean’s statement, I can use this year’s statement and apply it in 2024 right? Tq in advance! ❤
Hi How competitive is to get an Fy1 post in uk? in rural areas
Hello! I just got approved for eligibility with condition and it was right to work, saying i need a sponsorship, what does this mean? Does this mean also i dont need to sot for plab?
Hello, I am planning to do the same next year. Have you received any updates? It would be wonderful if you could tell me.
@@hrishikeshsen1141 hello, what updates do you mean?
@@ryansiah98 hey! I meant did you get a sponsorship for the visa? Did you book and write your plabs? If there's a better place we can talk, kindly suggest it. I'd love to know more about your UKFPO journey.
@@hrishikeshsen1141 yeah so what I found out about sponsorship, it basically means the hospital that employs you will have to sponsor you - something also called a tier 2 visa. I just booked my sjt, then in March only I'll know if I have a job in uk based on how well I did on sjt. I didn't have to do plab thankfully because my degree is from Europe, so sadly I can't help you there
Hi..can i download the dean statement and print and fill it ...or would i have to fill it online and get it signed by the dean
Hi , I am an Indian citizen & now a last year medical student studying in Ukraine and gonna graduated in 2023 summer these year . Is it possible to enter FY1 step after graduation and qualifying IELTS ? Is it possible that I can apply just after my graduation ? Any other requirements.? Is it possible if I didn’t pass my country medical license exam and can apply on basis of my graduation from Ukraine. Am I eligible after my license graduation and ielts certification, Please answer Thank you so much 😇
Hi , have you found a solution ?
Hello I have a question . How likely would someone applied to the ukfpo using his dean's statement as proof of English ( given that he's an IMG who graduated from a university that is not on the GMC list that is don't accept it's PMQ as a proof of English but his medical school based in a country where English is not the first language) to be accepted in the program?
If we have our OET exam after eligibility window closes will they consider it?
Doc, would plabable be enough? I want to save but i also want to make sure that I pass on the first take. Thank you!
Thanks . Please remove background music.
Your hair doe?? PLEAK-😫❤️
In gmc registration part , i have a question. IF WE DO INTERNSHIP(1 year) IN OUR HOME COUNTRY, THEN WE CAN Apply for F2 standalone programe right? Will i not be able to complete my provisional gmc registration because of my internship in my home country?
Hi there! Basically the GMC may not allow you to apply for a provisional registration if you have taken an adequate 'pre or post-graduate clinical experience', this is what the GMC means by an internship. They have several criteria for this so you can check if your internship falls under this: www.gmc-uk.org/registration-and-licensing/join-the-register/before-you-apply/check-if-your-practical-training-internship-is-acceptable If the internship you took falls under their criteria, then they may refuse for you to have provisional registration - meaning you can't enter as an FY1, and instead might ask you to apply for full registration - which you can use during Stand-Alone FY2. I hope this helps!
hi, I'm a non UK non EU international medical graduate, I prepared all qualifications for the eligibility application for 2023, but I failed to achieve the minimum score in ielts( overall score 8 but with a 6 in writing) not sure what to do now do I apply anyway or is that a guarantee rejection??? will it help if I studies highschool in English at an international British school and I have A levels with good grades. I should also mention that my university is in the list not to accept dean statement as prove of English proficiency.
Hello, thanks for your comment! Based on what you've told me, I feel that it's unlikely that the UKFPO will accept your application given that they do not accept your Dean's Statement as proof of English Language Proficiency. You can try and send the UKFPO an email about your situation just to be sure, although I am not sure if you will get a reply before the Eligibility application closes. If you are struggling with IELTS Writing, you can try taking the OET instead, as I have heard from some people that it may be easier. I hope this helps! Feel free to update me on your situation! <3

How difficult or competitive is it for IMGs to get into UKFP ?
Hi there! I actually answer this question in my last video, if you wanna check it out: th-cam.com/video/9n5EMBqF4Ng/w-d-xo.html&t
@@mischka6731 thank you for your reply! What about the growing reserve list situation ? Do you think it will make it harder for IMGs to get into UKFP ?
Subscribed! Just curious, were you or did you already sound this good during your initial IELTS exam or was is not this good? The way you sound and the way you speak now is admirable. Neutral, unhurried and just has this calm confidence about it.
Wow thank you for this comment! I did already sound something like this when I did my IELTS exam. I mentioned in the video that how much you have to practice in speaking really depends on your current experience in speaking English. English is my first language, and I grew up speaking mostly English at home. But I really do believe that if you practice enough, you will get there!
Hi Doc! Thank you for this Video. Doc, may I ask about the Clinical Gap. I am worried about this. After I passed the board exam on sept 2019, I did moonlighting in the Philippines for 3-4months, I think. But because of the pandemic, I stopped for a while. Then I decided to apply as MHO in our locality and worked there for 10 months before going to Malta. I came in Malta so it would be easier to travel and get qualified as a doctor in UK. I was able to secure a job to be able to stay here. Then, I heard about this Clinical Gap. I am worried that it will affect my PLAB exam and GMC registration. Can you tell us more about this please?
Can we complete the eligibility process after our plabs? or we need to do it before the plabs? huge confusion!!
Hi there! You're not required to have completed PLAB by the time you submit your Eligibility Application. You may need to provide evidence that you already took PLAB 1, or that you are planning to take it. In the new guidance, it states that if you do not already have a booking for PLAB 1 by the time the Eligibility Application closes, you must provide evidence such as email confirmation that you have booked PLAB by August 31, 2022, and must have emailed this to the UKFP helpdesk by September 9, 2022. They state that the GMC will not accept bookings made after August 31, 2022. Also note that in order to remain Eligible to apply for UKFP, you need to have taken PLAB 2 by May 31, 2023. You can find more details on the new Eligibility guidance for UKFP 2023 here: healtheducationengland.sharepoint.com/sites/UKFPOT/WebDocs/Forms/AllItems.aspx?id=%2Fsites%2FUKFPOT%2FWebDocs%2F3%2E%20Programmes%2F2%20Year%20Foundation%20Programmes%2F1%2E%20Eligibility%20Application%2F2023%2FUKFP%202023%20Eligibility%20Applicant%20Guidance%20FINAL%2Epdf&parent=%2Fsites%2FUKFPOT%2FWebDocs%2F3%2E%20Programmes%2F2%20Year%20Foundation%20Programmes%2F1%2E%20Eligibility%20Application%2F2023&p=true&ga=1 I hope this helps!

Doed the ukfp require a specific gpa from your medical school?
Hi there! I wouldn't say the require a specific GPA, but they will ask what your ranking in medical school was in order to be able to rank you properly amongst the other applicants. They will ask in your Dean's Statement what your Decile ranking was, and will score you based on that. We're still waiting for the official UKFP 2023 Main application guidance to be published, so we may have more details soon. I hope this helps!
Thank you for this honest and smooth educational video Dr. Mischka
Glad it was helpful! Let me know what other content you'd like to see on my channel!
So awesome thanks
Hello Mischka !!your video is so helpful, thank you! I have a question, can i appy for ukfp even after 2 years of completing PMQ ?
Hi there! I think this will depend on what you did after you completed your PMQ. If you entered a post-graduate internship after you completed your PMQ, then you would not be eligible to apply for the 2-year programme, and might have to apply for the Stand-Alone FY2 programme. However, if you simply took a career break (studied, took vacation, etc) then you may still be able to apply, but might need to take the Clinical Assessment in order to be eligible. However, the GMC may wonder about this career break and may ask for further evidence of this gap. I hope this helps!
