Having rode through rush hour in Houston for the last 3 years, if you think you have equal rights on the road in Houston, you're not very smart. The rule is, there is no rules. Ride appropriately. Protect yourself. All the honking and the like is a waste of your time. Go where you want went you can. Use cars as your halfback. Make them block for you until you see open field. I don't wait in the cagers for traffic jams. You're sitting comfortably in your A/C. I'm risking my life. I think I'll moved ahead. Buh bye.

I expect people to pull out in front of me/ not see me. I'd be shocked if it didn't happen. What I have a problem with are the rough streets of east Houston. I get beat senseless with all the bumps and potholes.

One of those was COMPLETELY your fault. You saw someone way tf ahead you merging *from the left* and decided to speed up just to squeeze him out like an ahole

Second one , you clearly saw he was attempting to switch lane yet you did not let off much and honked making you the A-hole

But you get to skip the traffic

I got a Ryker couple weeks ago and getting used to driving it . I leave near Pearland . I don’t want to ever get on 45 .

Houston is mixing pot for different types of people more people a lot of people are moving to Texas get used to bad drivers and be on your toes

Better start believing in God and ask for angles to protect you out on that road. I'm glad I live out in the Texas country where there's less traffic. Although I have to keep an eye out for animals crossing the road.

I own the european version called XJ6 Diversion F. The only thing I hate is the heath coming up form the engine between your legs. During sunny days and lots of reving it realy gets hot. Outherwise a fantastic bike.

I've been riding for about 40 some odd years now. You just have to be careful in Houston Texas because there's hardly any motorcycles most of the year. Even I've started to stop looking for motorcycles as well as I should. So just be careful and keep in mind you're invisible. It's all up to you to stay wheels down. Slow down Ricky rocket.

My dad bought this bike in 2012, used, he told me It had some mods to it but idk what kinds it had on it, it was making around 750cc, to the crank, and it was straight piped. it had a FZ6r on the side of it but in dark red. but the bike was black. He did not have a lines to drive the bike but he drove it anyways, but 99% of the time, it was in the front yard collecting dust and getting hit by weather. He said it was comfortable for a guy that was 210 pounds at 6,2.

I've lived and rode in Houston area for the last 30 years. You've got to be on your toes for sure the entire time and ride cautiously because car drivers absolutely view driving as secondary while using their phone, fiddling with dash buttons and putting on make-up!

Lookn to buy a 2nd one of these . had 74k on my 1st one . 2012 never left me stranded . Clutch cable every 11k An chain every 15-18k An alwase buy oem parts

That’s my day even when I’m driving a car. Houston has some of the most aggressive drivers in the world.

a fully faired sporty bike with a comfy seating position, handlebar and 4 cyclinder power! why doesnt any modern bike company make one of these, it ticks all the boxes of what i want in a bike

I rode bikes full time for 13 years and now I live in Houston. I will NEVER ride a bike here, Houston car drivers are distracted (cellphone usually) under-skilled, incompetent, aggressive, non-courteous and generally ignore the rules of the road. They are some of the worst and unsafest drivers I have ever seen in 40 years on the roads all over the world.

I don't miss the shithole city. Moved up to rural town 50 mi east of Dallas and riding is fun (and safe) again. Fuck the city.

I got off cruises for the same reason and my first bike was a 93 F2 600 and I love that thing for being as old as it was. It was still the good looking bike and had plenty of power after having that for about a month I was like I want to go up to a 1000 cuz I like to go fast and I got a 2006 CBR 1000RR and after a couple rides I was immediately regretting it. I want something that's a little more tame. And I was thinking about switching to like more of a naked bike, but this bike is pretty dope. I like the upright position. I really need to go super super fast but I'm sure it has plenty of power to get it done, especially with some mods. But I definitely would like the upright ready position. Thanks for the review!!

Yup fck the 45. Im up in spring area and it took me a while to find some decent areas where drivers seem to have triple digit IQ. The 99 up to the porter/conroe exit, then head to loop 336. About as peaceful as Ive found in Houston.

It looks like you can't ride. I've been riding since 1983, I had very few close calls. All my close calls, happened because I was doing something wrong, during my early days of riding, I ride in the rain and even in -3 degree weather, and no close calls.

Hey, thanks man for the review! I found a 2012 with 698 miles? And the photo's, the bike looks like it only has 698? It seems odd for a 10 year old bike. I haven't seen it in person yet, like you, this one slipped under the radar. They have a M7 also but, I loved your review and what you like about riding too ;) And it's the black one with cool red graphics for $5995....I watched too many British dudes on their Monkeys and bought one 2 months ago. Never rode a motorcycle before haha and I took to riding better than I thought. So, this really isn't too big of a leap and good (real) first bike, you think? And honestly I'd keep the Monkey because I don't want to mess with it (buying-selling-trading) but, the Monkey is not for U.S. roads beyond a small tight community with 55 limits. I want a bike I don't feel like I'm going to get run over on from behind or fall into a chuck hole Lol thanks, I love ALL you guys who make these videos. Really appreciate it <3 I'm on limited funds for life now in retirement and I don't have money to play musical bikes and musical bank accounts and trading and more sales taxes draining the account man smH... just to find a cool ride Lol sheeesh It's a lot harder than I thought. Thinking about switching from a 2016 Kawasaki Vulcan s to the Yamaha fz6r. I want to get away from the cruiser sitting position into more of a sport touring sitting position because of the added comfort on the highway. I think the scout 60 is kind of comparable to the Vulcan S as far as power

I think it has to do with how people are getting their drivers license. There are tons of driving schools across the city where you just register pay fees and get license, simple is that. Even they themselves take your road test and often they don't care how bad you did in your road test. Houston always amazes me how everything friendly the city is. Be it no insurance friendly, hit and run friendly, pretty crime friendly and list goes on and on...

I have a 2010 FZ6R and about 2 months into owning it since I feel great about owning one, the look is a head turner, the feel of the ride is great, everything for riding it 9000kms+ (~5600mi) Just recently started riding with another person who has an 07 FZ6, and I am noticing the difference, but not such a problem I think, as at the end of the ride it's how much you've enjoyed it, and if I personally wanted more from the bike I'd be looking at a YZR6 opposed to Yamaha's FZ/MT If it would had been the option get an fz6 or an fz6r I would look past the fact that the fz6 does pull more than the fz6r, but the look of this bike really is something else and how it performs very well climbing to 215km+(133mi)

Its a loosing game, I live here, and yeah we try to speed up or be like hey I am here, THEY really don't CARE, and yeah around here you end up getting into road rage fights. Assho trucks, dumb bimbos, the seemingly blind toyota and honda drivers
