My parents were divorced when I was young. Watching this show had plenty of laughs, but Andy's strong father figure was so important in my life.
It should never have had goober the dimwit on it! That ruined a really good show!
How am I just seeing this!
They should never have taken Dukes off the air because of people being (offended) over the flag on the car. Its ridiculous. This show was the best show on tv. I grew up watching this show. People who get offended by every little thing get on my nerves. What does being offended do for your life. Bring back the Dukes reruns!
I admit it. This makes me tear up. I never had a father.
❤🎉🌅💕👌🙏 Rest in Paradise.
The worst part of life is seeing folks including myself get old and pass away.
I'm 55 and have honestly lost count of how many times I've watched the show. It's watched everyday in my home because it's just clean, wholesome and you feel like you're part of Mayberry when you watch it.
what a wonderful program it was. all those people should be very proud of it!!!
Im 64 yrs old and this show still warms my heart and makes me laugh. ❤ my childhood wouldnt have been the same without it. ❤
Like General Patton, he fought to the bitter end.
Best TV show ever!!
I’m not sure where I place this show in a list of all time greats but I know that this show belongs on that list ❤
Sir Anthony looks so handsome here w/ those blue eyes & nice suit
I can't believe us older folks have lived through a time where we once only had 3-5 channels of TV but there was almost always something great to watch. I think Andy Griffith and Leave it to Beaver had many of the same themes that still resonate to this very day. Also, for some perspective I was lucky I grew up in a small town in Missouri of about 12,000 people. Yes, larger than Mayberry but I did have at least some of the small town experiences that the Andy Griffith showed. Then I moved to the big city of Kansas City as a teen and although I really enjoyed being in a more modern/faster environment the small town life really never left me. Some of my small town experiences were running through the dark neighborhood on a cool, windy October night all alone everybody else was inside and the boogeyman was right around the corner. Our elementary teachers having us eat our lunch outside by a tree the last week of school. Seeing my kite stuck in a tree as my mom drove us out of town for the very last time. Also I'll say the small town life wasn't totally idyllic like the tv shows it really did have a lot of, let me say, bad elements, as well. The 1976 movie Bad News Bears maybe wasn't set in a small town but I've always felt it nailed the mid 70's America perfectly on the head.
I’m watching Andy Griffith 5 days a week. This show is priceless with these days gone by ……🧡
I don’t believe in comebacks ain’t nothing charming about the second encounter
Came on in 1960…has run continuously for 65 years !!
I can up in the 80s as a kid watching this show and still watch I am in my 40s now and this show will hold for many more years.
When I was a kid i used to think that Opie had really nice dad!☺
Love the old Barbara Walters Specials. I watched this when it first aired. This is when the Oscars aired on Thursday night.
Wonderful wonderful show! Still watch it. Still smile while watching it. Can watch it over and over and over.
Andy Taylor?!!? Why is it called the Andy Griffith show??
Best there was and is. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
January 2025…I’m 74; I’ve been 👀 Andy Griffith all my life. Thank you!
At the very end, the moment Andy closed the door and the set turned to be/w waa extremely beautiful because the first 5 years of being shot without color were the very best years of the show.
They did a beautiful job with the courthouse set. The cooler even looks authentic except it was in a lower stand and set up between the two cells
It's January 2025 and I watch the reruns daily. Absolutely love the show.
0:57 Does he still have that sprawling office complex?
Just saw these shows they reminiscing about
When Opie is listening to the baby birds and the camera pans out, it looks like there is a gun on the nightstand. I’m glad guilt didn’t overwhelm him and ……
Born in 91 but watched it growing up. My dad was a small town cop and he grew up watching Andy Griffith! We still watch it every night. It just doesn't get old.
I remember this show when I was a little boy and I’m watching this and it just puts a lump in my throat. Such quality TV. It was funny and there was always good moral lesson.
It was a show a Hollywood production every person in it was an actor playing one of the FAKE characters , granted it was a great production but it was nothing more than a production. The way the actors talk and judging by some of the comments many people seem to be having a difficult time separating reality from fiction.
I’m close to 80 and will never forget the whistle kids need a show like that now
Great memories to last a lifetime...!
Classic Show love it! Simpler time ✨
My name is John but watching this brings back memories of when I was a kid ron and me is about the same age I'm 60 years old growing up with ron brings back memories
As I grew older, being 74 years old I bought the entire collection of Gunsmoke, John Carson, Wanted Dead or Alive, Combat, and Paladin. Being born in 1950 I can remember when we got our first TV with the 2-4-5-7-9-11-13 channels. How the World has changed in my lifetime. From using pig ions to send messages to the cell phone and the internet.
Being 74 years old and raised to in the San Fernando Valley I began working for the LADWP in 1986 and would go to Franklin Revisor were the opening of the Show was filmed and at the Holiday Spa on Desoto I met characters who were on the show.
Aunt B never embraced her role. Became a recluse
The USPS commercial hasn't aged well. Nowadays: we can't find your address. I grew up watching reruns my Dad had recorded on VHS.
I love this show but let's be real, it's a fantacy. It's a dream of how life should be. How people should treat each other. It was never like this in real life because human nature isn't pure or innocent. BUT, the fantacy is wonderful.
Francis Was an old Cat lady during her last dozen years. She wouldnt even let Andy come in many years later.all her food was delivered to her front door.I Herard she lived in only one room in the house.Just Full of Cats.
My Favorite show all time,Im 52 and still watch everyday
What a man
He was amazing on so many levels ! And so was his wife Dana ! ❤🙏❤️🙏
It breaks my heart, but these wonderful, innocent times like the days of Andy Griffith, will never be here again. From transgender weirdos to people not even knowing what bathroom to use anymore, my God what is happened to America. May the Lord have mercy on this nation
One of my favorite shows of all time.
Chris and dana are now flying angels
