NEWPORT RHODE ISLAND, NORWEGIAN ESCAPE CRUISE - CANADA NEW ENGLAND TOUR #Newport #Rhode Island
มุมมอง 799ปีที่แล้ว
This was a great place to visit. I learned so much about Newport. Truly a town for the very rich in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The City Bus System is excellent and there is no real need to book a Cruise Ship Excursion $$$. You can do this one on your own. Use the City Bus and the Trolley System and you will not have any regrets.

Been wanting to go to Rodman State Park. you’re right about a slight change in weather; I was in Ocala seeing a couple of clients. And stayed in up here with my camper and felt that change. Sadly my home in Miami and we didn’t get a break lol; my wife and I been wanting to get out to this park. Appreciate bringing us through it.

Great video. My Dad & I camped at Fort Wilkens state park, very quiet. Just watch out for bears. Another great place to camp in St. Ignace is the Straits State Park, just east of the bridge. Some sites have bridge views. Glad you liked it up there.

I've been on the island more times than I remember, I love the place. The downtown area is crowded, but once your a mile out of town either way it's better. No stores/hotels/restaurants. Just nature. There's so much more to see. Also on the inside of the island too. I stayed on the island once, at the Lilac Tree. Once the people leave for the night, the place is almost empty. Same in the morning. Great video, glad you liked it.

my Dad & I ate at the Dog Patch a couple times in the '90s. It was recommended by a local. Great food, and they had a great seafood buffet. Glad you enjoyed it up there. Took the pictured rock boat tour too.

You sure missed a lot. Arch rock is the most beautiful place on the island. The grounds and gardens around the Grand Hotel are beautiful. The hotel has memorabilia from Somewhere in Time. They have the tree marker where Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour first met. A bike ride around the island is beautiful. The carriage tour is great.

There were no fires allowed in Spring '23. That's why I camped on top of Cedar Mesa (Muley Point). I found Monument Valley to be somewhat disappointing. Traffic, traffic cones, commercialization. Memorial weekend VOTG was essentially empty. On my few 17 mile trips through there I didn't encounter more than 3 vehicles on the road. Worth every penny that you won't be spending on camping fees!

See that white in the road at the entrance? Looks kind of salty because it is. I had to taste it just to satisfy my curiosity. If you get the chance, take the trip!! No crowds, no litter, free camping, ultimate stargazing, clean air, and spectacular views (particularly up on top at Muley Point), deep blue skies. Too bad it's 1200 miles from where I live😕

We had to wait for 3 hours but we had 2 paramedics and 8 volunteers come and put him on a stretcher with huge tires wheel him out. It took about 20 tries on the phone to get service through to 911 to call for help. He was in tremendous pain! It’s been a few years now and he has healed up exceptionally well. Thanks for watching and commenting!
