I think you're a bit off. I'm someone on the corporate ladder for more than 15 years.. Your almost on the right path but not quite. You were saying that people who get promoted are those who are know how to market themselves and not the best people. Yes that's true but those people are also GOOD at what they do, just not the best. You need the full package be good at your job, have charisma and know how to market yourself. And this leads to attending to company dinners, events etc.. You need to understand why you're attending them. You need to hang out with your bosses and your bosses bosses and anyone who in any way can help you recommend for a promotion. You want to be someone who's wanted in company to have a good time with... If you're good at your job and you're liked as a person you will be favored over those who are just good/best but awkward. It's cruel, but it's just how it is. Be good at what you do, be ambitious, don't be afraid to want and ask for more and be someone who other people like to be around and you will come ahead of others.. I think if you want to spend money on coaches... I'd look into body language. There's no easy way to say this without hurting your feelings so please know I'm not saying this to hurt you but to give you strangers advice how you're seen from outside. The way you hold your hands comes off as weak, it's just weird, if you do it in real life as well. Your facial expressions are very monotone, lacking energy, enthusiasm.. I'm not sure you can change this because you are who you are as a person and that's OK and I'm sure you're a successful person in life. But I suspect if anything is holding you off in your career it's this... Also the fact that you now wish you didn't go to all these company events also tells me you didn't enjoy them and saw them as a chore, as something you had to do.. Which tells me you're likely a very introverted person which resonates with your body language as well. I know you said don't listen to advice from strangers on the internet, but here it is. You thought it worth your time to talk to the internet and I thought it worth replying back to you. Cheers!

Good numbers bro. You should do an analysis that tracks the yearly growth rate and extrapolates it to retirement, estimates an annuity payment, and shows what you could retire on. You might be surprised. My guess honestly if you leave it in the market, youll be getting like $50k a month just from interest by age 65. But who knows, not financial advice.
